Abstract

Kelengkeng fruit already well known for Indonesian society. Not only from the contents of the fruit, but Kelengkeng also have many other beneficial from the seed, leather, root and leaves that useful for human health. In this research, phytochemical and antioxidant activity test have been done. Antioxidant activity test was carried out with scavenging test to 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazil (DPPH) radical. On antioxidant activity test, mix of extract and DPPH are incubated for 30 minutes at 37oC, then the absorbance measured at λ = 517 nm using spectrophotometer. The absorbance from sample, blank and negative control are converted as Antioxidant Activity Absorbance (AA%). Based on result of phytochemical etanol extract, Kelengkeng contains phenolic compounds. And based on antioxidant activity test with DPPH radical scavenging method by spectrophotometer, ethanol extract of Kelengkeng has antioxidant activity about EC50(72.23±2.55) while Vitamin C as comparison has antioxidant activity about EC50(6.07±0.36).Keywords: Kelengkeng, phytochemical, antioxidant activity and DPPH

Abstract

Density functional theory-based methods have been applied to predict the most possible one among the isomerizations of methylhydroxycarbene considering the probability of hydrogen tunneling occurrence. B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) and M08-SO/6-31+G(d,p) methods were applied in all computations using GAMESS-US software. There were three steps of computation in this research. First, electronic structure computations of both equilibrium and transition compounds involved in all isomerization alternatives in order to obtain the optimum structures of the compounds. Second, vibrational computations of optimum transition structures to ensure that each of the respective structures is well on its potential energy surface. Third, tunneling analysis accomplished by intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) computatuins for all isomerization alternatives followed by tunneling probabilitycalculation using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) formula for methylhydroxycarbene isomerizations. The result of this research showed that the DFT methods successfully produced the optimum structure of each compound. Both DFT methods also successfully mapped all the intrinsic reaction coordinates. B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) method gave tunneling probabilities of 3.55 x 10-19 for the isomerization into acetaldehyde and 3.30 x 10-20 for that into vinyl alcohol. While M08-SO/6-31+G(d,p) method gave tunneling probabilities of 2.38 x 10-23 for the isomerization into acetaldehyde and 4.79 x 10-23 for that into vinyl alcohol.Keywords: DFT, methylhydroxycarbene, hydrogen tunneling, isomerization

Abstract

Three prenylated flavonoids, 4’-O-methyl-8-isoprenyleriodictiol (1), 4’-O-methyl-8-isoprenylnaringenin (2) and lonchocarpol A (3) have been isolated from the leaves of Macaranga pearsonii Merr.. The structure of compounds have been elucidated based on its spectroscopic data, including UV, 1D and 2D NMR, and HREISMS spectra.

Abstract

Macaranga beccariana Merr. merupakan tanaman endemik Kalimantan yang diketahui belum banyak penelitian mengenai aktivitas biologi dan senyawa bioaktif dari tanaman ini. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengetahui potensi dari M. beccariana maka pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dan antimalaria serta isolasi senyawa bioaktif dari tanaman ini perlu dilakukan. Pada penelitian ini, daun M. beccariana diekstraksi dengan metanol sehingga diperoleh ekstrak metanol. Kemudian, ekstrak tersebut dipisahkan dan dimurnikan sehingga diperoleh senyawa 1 dan 2. Berdasarkan elusidasi struktur dengan spektrometer UV, 1H dan 13C NMR, senyawa 1 dan 2 diketahui sebagai kelompok senyawa fenolik dan diidentifikasi strukturnya masing-masing sebagai asam 4-hidroksibenzoat dan asam 3,4-dihidroksibenzoat. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan menggunakan DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) dan uji aktivitas antimalarial terhadap Plasmodium falciparum strain 3D7 dengan pewarnaan Giemsa. Kontrol positif yang digunakan dalam uji aktivitas antioksidan adalah rutin, sedangkan uji aktivitas antimalaria adalah klorokuin difosfat. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol M. beccariana dan senyawa isolasi (1 dan 2) adalah aktif untuk kedua uji tersebut. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa daun M. beccariana memiliki potensi sebagai agen antioksidan dan antimalaria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Analysis cyanide acid in Solanum melongena and Solanum quitoense L before and after boiling. Cyanide acid is esthabushed by argonometricm method (Volhard) with three times repetition, for each kinds of eggplants Solanum melongena L dan Solanum quitoense L. The research showed have endireated that before boiling the content of cyanide acid Solanum melongena L (Craigi eggplant 71,712 mg/kg, kopek eggplant 46,310 mg/kg, gelatik eggplant 0 mg/kg) and Solanum quitoense L (asam eggplant 30,434 mg/kg) after boiling, the cyanide acid to slop Solanum melongena (Craigi eggplant 19,321 mg/kg, kopek eggplant 6.620 mg/kg, gelatik eggplant 0 mg/kg and Solanum quitoense L (asam eggplant 3.445 mg/kg). There is significant content have been reduced of cyanide acid in Solanum melongena L dan Solanum quitoense L   Keywords: Solanum melongena dan Solanum quitoense L, Cyanide acid   ABSTRAK   Telah dilakukan analisis asam sianida dalam Solanum melongena dan Solanum quitoense L sebelum dan sesudah perebusan menggunakan metode Volhard dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan asam sianida sebelum perebusan Solanum melongena (terong Craigi 71,712 mg/kg, terong kopek 46,310 mg/kg, terong gelatik  0 mg/kg)  dan Solanum quitoense L (terong asam 30,434 mg/kg) sedangkan setelah dilakukan perebusan (terong Craigi 19,321 mg/kg,  terong kopek 6.620 mg/kg,  terong gelatik 0 mg/kg) and Solanum quitoense L (terong asam  3.445 mg/kg). Abstract

Isolasi dan karakterisasi senyawa terpenoid dari fraksi etil asetat Macaranga beccariana Merr. telah dilakukan. Proses pemisahan pada fraksi etil asetat menggunakan kromatografi kolom gravitasi dengan metode elusi gradien. Isolat yang diperoleh diuji kemurniannya dengan menggunakan kromatografi lapis tipis dengan berbagai eluen yaitu n-heksana, kloroform, metanol, aseton dan etil asetat dengan nilai Rf secara berturut-turut yaitu 0; 0,75; 0,80; 0,87 dan 0,97. Senyawa terpenoid yang berhasil diisolasi berbentuk kristal putih dengan massa 0,0119 gram. Analisis dengan UV menghasilkan 1 puncak pada l 207,03 nm. Analisis senyawa dengan FT-IR mengindikasikan gugus fungsi -OH, C-H alifatik, C=C alifatik, C-O dan C=O. Berdasarkan dari hasil spektrum UV dan FT-IR maka senyawa isolat diduga mengandung senyawa terpenoid.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to screening test of endophytic bacteria producing amylase, lipase and protease from leaves Macaranga hullettii King ex Hook.f. Endophytic bacteria isolation was performed on nutrient agar (NA) and 21 single colonies of endophytic bacteria were obtained. Endophytic bacteria that all of the endophytic bacteria positive producing enzym, 8 of the endophytic bacteria positive amylase, 7 of the endophytic bacteria positive lipase and 4 of the endophytic bacteria positive protease.

Abstract

Uji Fitokimia Macaranga hullettii King ex Hook.f telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui metabolit sekunder menggunakan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis  dari ekstrak metanol pada daun Macaranga hullettii. Berdasarkan hasil skrining fitokimia, diketahui bahwa ekstrak metanol mengandung senyawa alkaloid, steroid/triterpenoid, polifenol dan flavonoid.

Abstract

Synthesis of dietanolamide surfactant from methyl ester of sunflower seed oil (Helianthus annuus. L) has been carried out through an amidation reaction. The synthesis process includes extraction, esterification and amidation. In the extraction process showed the oil content of sunflower seeds was 32.93% with an acid number of 3.25 mg KOH/g and ALB levels of 1.63%. Sunflower seed oil was then converted to methyl ester through the esterification process and obtained an acid number 1.84 mg KOH/g so that the ALB level dropped to 0.92% and obtained saponification numbers of 61.19 mg KOH/g. The most dominant composition of methyl ester of sunflower seed oil based on GC-MS analysis was methyl oleate at 23.28%. The FT-IR methyl ester spectrum gives a specific absorption peak for group C=O ester at wave number 1743 cm-1. Methyl esters are converted to diethanolamide through an amidation process. The resulting diethanolamide has an acid number of 9.7 mg KOH/g and a saponification number of 3.08 mg KOH/g. The FT-IR spectrum provides specific absorption peaks for groups C=O amides at wave numbers 1622 cm-1 and C-N at wave numbers 1055 cm-1. The value of HLB dietanolamide in practice is 13.6495 and in theory is 14.291 which includes the surfactant in the oil in water (O/W) emulsifying class.

Abstract

Phytochemical test and Antibacterial Activity test in each fraction of the gourds fruit (Lagenari siceraria (Molina) Standl) that came from Teluk Dalam, Tenggarong Seberang have been done. The sample of leaves was extracted with ethanol and then concentrated by using rotary evaporator. The ethanol crude extract was fractioned with n-hexane, Ethyl Acetate and Methanol. Based on the phytochemical test on secondary metabolits of the gourds fruit (Lagenari siceraria (Molina) Standl), it showed that ethanol crude extract contained flavonoid, saponin, steroid, and phenol. n-hexane fraction contained a steroid, ethyl acetate fraction contained phenol. And methanol-water fraction contained saponin and phenol. Based on the Antibacterial Activity test using the paper disc diffusion method (diameter 6 mm), the  results of this test showed that the most active fraction is n-Heksana with : of the Bacillus cereus bacteria at the concentration 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10% (b/v) with inhibition diameter 9.57, 9.88, 10.17, 12.18, 13 and 14.3 mm respectively so minimum inhibitory concentration got 0-1%. The active response toward Salmonella typhi bacteria at the concentration 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10% (b/v) with inhibition diameter 7.50, 7.60, 8.20, 8.38, 8.87, and 9.8 mm so minimum inhibitory concentration got 0-1%. The chloramphenicol antibiotics concentration 0.00386 M as a standard to inhibit the growth of Bacillus cereus and Salmonella typhi bacteria with the inhibition diameter 12.58 mm and 15.06 mm respectively.
