Abstract

Abstract: Ranti hitam plant (Solanum blumei Nees ex Blume), Solanaceae family is found in Karo and Dairi, traditionally used as a medicinal plant. The results of phytochemical analysis of extract of S. blumei Nees ex Blume shows that secondary metabolites alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponin are more numerous in the ethanol extract of the leaves than the ethanol extract of the fruit. Quinone is only found in the ethanol extract of the leaves. Phenol is widely available on the ethyl acetate extracts of leaves and fruit.Steroids and triterpenoids are abundant in n-hexane extract and ethyl acetate leaves and fruit as well as the ethanol extract of the leaves. The yield of extract n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol blumei leaves S. Nees ex Blume respectively are 1.76%; 3.17% and 9.95% (w/w). The yield of extract n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol fruit S. blumei Nees ex Blume respectively are 1.21%; 2.50% and 4.09% (w/w). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak n-heksan, etilasetat dan etanol dari buah Ranti Hitam (Solanum blumei Ness ex Blume). Uji antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode peredaman DPPH (1.1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl). Hasil uji antioksidan menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi adalah ekstrak etanol dengan % inhibisi (38,72 %) dibandingkan ekstrak etilasetat (17,37 %) dan ekstrak n-heksana (3,015 %) dengan nilai IC50 dari ekstrak etanol terkecil (128,79 ppm), diikuti ekstrak etilasetat (343,37 ppm) dan ekstrak n-heksana (3570,66 ppm). Nilai IC50 (Inhibition Concentration 50) adalah konsentrasi antioksidan (µg/mL) yang mampu menghambat 50% radikal bebas. Abstract

Tanaman ranti hitam (Solanum blumei Nees ex Blumei), famili Solanaceae, ditemukan di daerah Dairi dan Karo, secara tradisional digunakan sebagai tanaman obat. Pengujian aktivitas antikanker dari ekstrak etanol buah ranti hitam terhadap sel leukemia L1210 telah dilakukan dengan metode hemositometri setelah diinkubasi 48 jam pada suhu 37°C di dalam inkubator 5% CO2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol buah ranti hitam berpotensi sebagai antikanker terhadap sel leukemia L1210 dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 14,88 µg/mL (aktif).
