Abstract

East Kalimantan has so much plant diversity of the various ethnic Dayak. One is the Tabar Kedayan plants (Aristolochia foveolata), which empirically efficacious as an antidote (anti-venom). However, its usefulness has not been scientifically confirmed, this is due to the small number of scientific studies on the content of secondary metabolites and bioactive compounds contained in the plant Aristolochia foveolata. Characteristics of simplicianot found in Aristolochia foveolata plant monograph book Materia Medika Indonesia (MMI).This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of botanicals and content ofsecondary metabolites of Aristolochia plants foveolata. This study covers the characteristics of simplicia (byorganoleptic, macroscopic and microscopic) and phytochemical screening (inspection/identification of secondary metabolites) from the plant Aristolochia foveolata. Determination results showed that the samples of plants used are Tabar Kedayan Root(Aristolochia foveolata Merr.). Of the genus Aristolochia and family Aristolochiaceae. Tabar Kedayan root powder contained fragments: fibers, cork fragments, starch items, wooden vessels, parenchyma.Characteristic root extract is obtained Tabar Kedayan; condensed form of oily, brown color, typical aromatic odor, bitter taste, pH 5, specific gravity 1.047 g / ml, 31% shrinkage drying, water-soluble compound 42.5%, compound soluble in ethanol 16.13%, yield 25% extract. Tabar Kedayan root contains compounds alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids and steroids. TLC method using a spray reagent Dragendorf, showed that positive Tabar Kedayan roots contain the alkaloid compound gives red brick staining with Rf value of 0.96.

Abstract

Secara empiris, daun singkil digunakan sebagai obat asam urat. Data penelitian awal tentang karakterisasi simplisia dan ekstrak daun singkil (Premna corymbosa Rottl & Willd) belum pernah dilaporkan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik simplisia dan ekstrak daun singkil muda dan tua serta kandungan kimianya.Ekstraksi simplisia dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dari pengambilan sampel, determinasi tumbuhan, pembuatan simplisia, ekstraksi secara maserasi, pemeriksaan karateristik dan skrining fitokimia.Hasil karakterisasi simplisia, makroskopik daun singkil memiliki warna hijau, ujung daun meruncing, pangkal daun tumpul, rompang , tepi daun bergerigi, bentuk daun bulat telur dan bulat, susunan tulang daun menyirip, daging daun tipis, panjang daun 10,9 hingga 15 cm . Lebar daun 6,3 hingga 9,6 cm. Pengamatan mikroskopik ditemukan fragmen pengenal stomata tipe diasitik , parasitik, berkas pembuluh bentuk spiral, rambut penutup, trikoma glandular. Kadar air daun muda 8%, daun tua 5,5%, kadar sari larut air daun muda 3%, daun tua 1,5%, kadar sari larut etanol daun muda 2%, daun tua 1,5%, kadar abu daun muda 4,86%, daun tua 7,01%, kadar abu tidak larut asam daun muda 2,20% dan daun tua 3,14%. Kadar air ekstrak daun muda 17,5%, daun tua 17%, kadar sari larut air daun muda 0%, daun tua 1%, sari larut etanol daun muda 0,5%, daun tua 4%, kadar abu daun muda 38,5%, daun tua 11,6%, kadar abu tidak larut asam daun muda 1,51%, daun tua 2,33%. Metabolit sekunder simplisia dan ekstrak diketahui mengandung flavonoid, tanin, saponin dan steroid/terpenoid.

Abstract

Research Test Antibacterial Activity of Ethanol Extracts of Leaves kecombrang against Salmonella typhi aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of leaves kecombrang against Salmonella typhi. The extract used is kecombrang leaf extract prepared by maceration using ethanol 95%, extracts obtained test chemical classes of compounds to determine the content of the active compound. Antibacterial activity test conducted at five concentrations of the extract is 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. Inhibition zone measurement results are then analyzed using One Way ANOVA with SPSS 20 to determine whether there is a difference at each concentration. The results showed kecombrang leaf ethanol extract 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% produce inhibition zone diameter 3.9 mm; 6.5 mm; 6.75 mm; 7:45 mm; and 9:28 mm, 0 mm for the negative control and positive control 32.61 mm. The test results show the class of secondary metabolites kecombrang leaf ethanol extract contains tannin, saponin, and flavonoids. Of statistical tests concluded there were significant differences of treatment results in inhibition of the respective concentrations of ethanol extracts of leaves kecombrang

Abstract

Litsea cubeba (Lour Pers.) has been used by the Dayak community Lundayeh and Kenyah, the village of Long Berang, District Mentarang, North Borneo, as drug . Leaves and bark used as medicine for diarrhea. Preliminary data concerning the characteristics and content of secondary metabolites has not been reported. This study aims to determine the organoleptic, macroscopic,  microscopic characteristics and content of secondary metabolites tenem leaves. The results showed that the leaf tenem have organoleptic characteristics typical aromatic smell like citrus (lemon), taste slightly bitter, slightly spicy, chelates. Macroscopic characteristics in the form of a single leaf, lanceolate, elongated, tapered leaf tip, leaf base tapering, bone pinnate leaves, upper surface shiny, lower surface dull and slightly hairy, color light green to dark green. Microscopy test results showed fragments of sklereid, oil cell, stomata type of parasitic, non-glandular trichomes. Simplicia tenem leaf powder contains alkaloids, tannins and terpenoids. Abstract

The roots of KB plants (Captosapelta tomentisa) is used empiricallyby  Dayak Kenyah community as a drug leukorrhea. Leukorrhea is one of the early symptoms of cervical cancer. Early methods to determine the LC50 value or toxicity of anticancer KB roots have not been reported. The aim of research is to determine the value of the toxicity of KB root. Research was conducted by an experimental study. Research stages include sample processing, extraction and acute toxicity test by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). BSLT testing to determine LC50 values with a concentration of 250 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm, 450 ppm and a negative control. Analysis of the data used are probit analysis method. The results showed  the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins in of the ethanol extract of KB root . The test results obtained acute toxicity LC50 value is 299.226 mg / ml, so that the ethanol extract of roots KB potentially toxic to the larvae of Artemia salina Leach.

Abstract

Daun singkil memiliki kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan triterpenoid/steroid. Pengeringan merupakan salah satu tahap pembuatan simplisia yang dilakukan agar simplisia tidak mudah rusak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar flavonoid ekstrak etanol daun singkil berdasarkan variasi suhu dan waktu pengeringan simplisia. Tahapan penelitian meliputi pengambilan sampel, determinasi tumbuhan, pembuatan simplisia dengan pengeringan oven pada suhu 50 ºC dan 70 ºC dengan waktu 8 dan 10 jam, ekstraksi secara maserasi, skrining fitokimia ekstrak, penetapan kadar flavonoid menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun singkil memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu tanin, flavonoid, saponin dan terpenoid/steroid. Kadar rata-rata flavonoid ekstrak etanol daun singkil berdasarkan suhu dan waktu pengeringan simplisia berturut-turut mulai dari yang tertinggi adalah suhu 50oC waktu 10 jam sebesar 1,54% ; suhu 70 ºC waktu 8 jam sebesar 1,50% ; suhu 70 ºC waktu 10 jam sebesar 1,38% dan suhu 50 ºC waktu 8 jam sebesar 0,96% .

Abstract

Leaves of Lawsonia inermis L. are one of the medicinal plants that have antibacterial properties, medicine for wounds on the skin, drugs for inflammation of the knuckles and as a nail dye. One of the active substances contained in the henna leaf is flavonoids. The level of active ingredient extract can be influenced by the way of drying simplicia. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of flavonoid ethanol extract of girlfriend nail Lawsonia inermis L. leaves based on simplicia drying method. Research conducted was non-experimental research. The stages of the study included collecting samples, determining plants, making simplicia by drying the wind and artificial drying with an oven at 550C, extracting by maceration and determining flavonoid levels by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the study, obtained flavonoid levels of ethanol extract of leaves on wind-dried drying of 6.15% ± 0.1373 and drying with an oven of 7.37% ± 0.2158.

Abstract

Kosmetik merupakan hal penting dalam kehidupan manusia saat ini, karena kosmetik sudah merupakan kebutuhan dan gaya hidup bagi wanita maupun pria, disegala usia. Banyaknya produk kosmetik yang beredar di pasaran dan ditawarkan di berbagai media, mengharuskan masyarakat berhati-hati dalam menentukan produk kosmetik yang akan digunakan. Generasi milenial merupakan usia produktif  banyak menggunakan kosmetika.  Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan informasi tentang kosmetika aman dan memberikan pelatihan cara mengidentifikasi merkuri dalam kosmetika .Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah penyuluhan yaitu memberikan informasi tentang pengertian, fungsi kosmetika, bahan yang dilarang dan bahan berbahaya yang sering digunakan dalam kosmetika. Selain penyuluhan, siswa diberikan pelatihan tentang langkah cerdas memilih kosmetika dengan melakukan cek Klik , mengidentifikasi sediaan kosmetika secara visual dan mengidentifikasi merkuri dalam kosmetika. Selanjutnya siswa diberikan kuisioner yang dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pemahaman siswa setelah diberi penyuluhandan pelatihan. Kegiatan dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 3 Samarinda. Hasil kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa 98 persen siswa telah memahami bagaimana memilih kosmetika yang aman dan dapat mengidentifiasi kosmetika secara visual dan kosmetika yang mengandung merkuri.
