Abstract

Secara empiris biji alpukat dan biji pepaya digunakan sebagai antidiabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi yang efektif terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) dari kombinasi infusa biji alpukat  dan biji pepaya varietas Bangkok. Penelitian ini menggunakan 24 ekor tikus yang dibagi dalam 8 kelompok yaitu 2 kelompok kontrol (normal dan negatif), 2 kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan infus biji alpukat dan biji pepaya, 3 kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan kombinasi infus biji alpukat dan biji pepaya konsentrasi 0,4% v/v, 0,6% v/v, dan 0,8% v/v, dan 1 kelompok pembanding yang diberikan glibenklamid. Semua kelompok perlakuan diberikan sediaan uji secara oral selama 14 hari. Sebelum perlakuan tikus terlebih dahulu diinduksi dengan aloksan 120 mg/kgBB secara intraperitonial. Pengukuran kadar glukosa darah dilakukan pada hari ke -1, -3, -7, -11, dan -14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi infus biji pepaya dan biji alpukat konsentrasi 0,4% v/v, 0,6% v/v , dan 0,8% v/v memberikan efek dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah  dan konsentrasi yang paling efektif dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah adalah konsentrasi 0,6% v/v.

Abstract

The research about aniinflammatory effect of Sirsak leaves (Annona muricata Linn.) ethanolic extract in male mice (Mus musculus) was conducted, the aim to assay the anti-inflammatory effect of Sirsak leaves done extract based on decrease in oedema volume of foot palm male mice. It was used 15 male mices that evaluated and divided into 5 groups that each group has 3 mices given extract in dose 0f 0,182 g/kgBB, 0,546 g/kgBB and 0,91 g/kgBB, one group as the compore which administered diclofenac sodium, one negative control group which administered 1% Na.CMC. induction carried out by injection 1% w/v carrageen 0,05 ml subcutan in the feet palm of mice. One hour later each group administered the teste preparation orally 1 ml/30 gBW. Group 1 to 3 the series dose of the extract 0,182 g/kgBB, 0,546 g/kgBB and 0,91 g/kgBB. Group 5 diclofenac sodium suspension. The measurement of oedema volume carried out prior and after administration of the tested preparation 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The data correlation between oedema versus time analysed value with use SPSS 20.Result indicated variaties with ethanolic Extract of Sirsak leaves have the effect antiinflamatory at dose 0,182 g/kgBB, 0,546 g/kgBB, dan 0,91 g/kgBB and not differ the reality by Natrium Diklofenak.Keywords : Inflamation, Anona muricata’s leaf, Carageen.

Abstract

A Research About Activity of Ethanol of Pearl Grass (Hedyotis corymbosa) On The Imunoglobulin M (IgM) by Hemaglutination Method Had Been Conducted of Male Mice. This research purpose to established of activity imunoglobulin M (IgM) from ethanol extract of pearl grass (Hedyotis corymbosa). Mice is animal that used for this research,The mice was divided into 4 treatment groups, where each group consisted of 3 mice. The first group as negative control, and each group was given Sheel Red Blood Cell (SRBC) 2 % as many 0,1 ml intraperitonially, after that negative control group was administrated with air sulingt, and other group was administrated with ethanol extract  dose 26 mg, 78 mg, dan 130 mg for five days. The blood from all group was collected by intracardial after five days. The activity of imunoglobulin M (IgM) was measured by hemaglutination method based on titer of the imunoglobulin M (IgM) there was highest dilution of mice blood serum in which aglutination was showed. Research result showed   Ethanol extract of Pearl Grass (Hedyotis corymbosa) at 26 mg, 78 mg, and 130 mg dose, can increased imunoglobulin M (IgM) activity.Key words : Imunoglobulin M, Hedyotis corymbosa, Hemaglutination Method

Abstract

Abstract : Leaf cherry (Muntingia Calabura L) empirically been used by the public as an anti-inflammatory drug. Cherry leaf contains flavonoids are thought to have antioxidant effects. This study has been tested antiinflammatory effect of ethanol extract of leaves of cherry (Muntingia Calabura L) in mice (Mus musculus). A total of 15 mice were divided into 5 groups of 3 animals. Group I (control) are given Na.CMC 1% w/v, Group II, III, and IV (treatment) were given cherry leaf extract ethanol concentration of 1% w / v, 3% w / v, and 5% w / v, as well as groups V (comparison) given Diclofenac Sodium 0.195 mg / 30 gBW. Before treatment all groups karagen induced with 1% w / v in intraplantar. Antiinflammatory effect was measured using pleytismometer. The results were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA method. The results showed that the ethanol extract of cherry leaf has anti-inflammatory effects and the concentration of 3% and 5% w / v has an effect no different to that diclofenac sodium.Keywords: Muntingia Calabura L, antiinflammatory, ethanol extract

Abstract

Sappan wood contains brazilin compounds that acts as antioxidants to inhibit the cholesterol synthesis, so it is efficacious hypolipidemic. It has been conducted the research on hypolipidemic effect assay of ethanol extract of sappan wood against male wistar rats. This research aims to determine the hypolipidemic effect from the ethanol extract of sappan wood based on a decrease in cholesterol content of rats. This research used 15 male rats were divided into 5 groups. Group I (control) was given suspension Na. CMC 1%, group II (comparator) was given simvastatin, the groups III, IV, and V were given ethanol extract of sappan wood at a dose 75 mg/kgbw, 150 mg/kgbw, and 300 mg/kgbw. All provisions were done orally once a day for 14 days. Cholesterol content measurements were done at the beginning of cholesterol before induction, after induction and after treatment. Before treatment rats were induced with propylthiouracil 0.01% and high cholesterol diet. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the sappan wood has a hypolipidemic effect and a dose 300 mg/kgbw was not significantly different (p > 0.05) with simvastatin.

Abstract

Johar leaf has been empirically used as malaria and hepatitis medicine. This research aims to determine hepatoprotective effect of ethanol extract of Johar leaves (Cassia siamea Lamk.) of rats liver. This  research used 15 tested rats divided into 5 groups, group I was given Na.CMC 1% (negative control), group II ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 50 mg/kgBB, group III ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 250 mg/kgBB, group IV ethanolic extract of Johar leaves of 500 mg/kgBB, and group V as a comparison given suspension curliv® of 42,86 mg/kgBB. Giving suspension curliv® was orally done once a day for 7 days. On the 8th day, the experimental rats were given paracetamol suspension dosage of 2,5 g/kgBB. Measurements of SGPT content was done before therapy (normal), after therapy, and after administration of paracetamol. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Johar leaves with the dose of 50; 250; 500 mg/kgBB have a hepatoprotective effect and dose is 500 mg/kgBB which was not statistically significantly different from curliv®.

Abstract

Hyperglycemia in Diabetes can caused the excessive production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in the body that will causes oxidative  stress that tissue damage. Oxidative stress can indicated by increasing MDA levels. This research aims to know and determine the concentration ethanol extract of soursop leaves that have antioxidant activity to MDA levels in diabetic rats. 9 white rats were divided into 3 groups. All rats were induced by alloxan 110mg/Kg.BB intraperitoneally. Group I was administered with Na.CMC as a negative control, group II and III were administered with ethanol extract of soursop leaves 2,5% and 5%. Administration were given orally for 12 days orally. Examination of blood glucose and MDA levels conducted before and after the administration. MDA Assay performed with TBA method was based on reaction of MDA-TBA as measured on a spectrophotometer 532 nm wavelength. The results were analysized statistically by using randomized block design (RBD) method. Based on the research has been done, it was showed that the ethanol extract of soursop leaves can lower blood glucose levels of diabetic rats and extract with concentration of 5% has potential as an antioxidant activity that can reduce MDA levels in diabetic rat.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder of carbohydrate, fat and protein that is characterized of hyperglycemia. Manila sapodilla (Manilkara zapota) empirically has been used by people as a traditional medicine. This study aims to determine the hypoglycemic effects and an effective concentration of ethanol extract manila sapodilla fruit as hypoglycemic on male mice induced by alloxan. The group of test animals consisted of 25 mice balb / c males were divided into 5 groups. Negative control group Na.CMC suspension 1% w / v, the comparison group glibenclamide 0.65 mg/kgbw, and group 3, 4, and 5 are a group of ethanol extract manila sapodilla fruit (EBSM) at a doses of 250 mg/kgbw, 500 mg/kgbw, and 750 mg/kgbw. Before treatment all test animals alloxan induced a dose of 150 mg/kgbw intraperitoneally (i.p). Given the test preparation is done orally once daily for 21 days. Blood collection from tail vein of mice on day 1 (h- 3rd), -3, -7, -11, -14, -17 and days 21 during treatment. Measurement of blood glucose levels is done before induction as early glucose levels, glucose levels after induction as diabetes mellitus, and after the end of therapy as glucose levels. The results were analyzed statistically by t-test and one-way ANOVA. Results showed EBSM a dose of 250 mg/kgbw showed no significant different compared to glibenclamide suspension. From this study it can be concluded that manila sapodilla fruit extract has hypoglycemic effects with an effective dose of 250 mg/kgbw. Keywords : Hyperglycemia, Manilkara zapota, male mice, alloxan.

Abstract

This research about antiinflammation effect from n-hexane extract of Beruwas Laut leaves (Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.) Roxb.) in male mice (Mus musculus) was conducted, the aim was assay the antiinflammation effect of Beruwas Laut leaves done extract based on decrease in edema volume of foot palm male mice. This research using 15 male mice that evaluated and divided into 5 groups that each group has 3 mice. In group I, diclofenac sodium as the compare administrated. In groups II, III, dan IV,  n-hexane Extract of Beruwas Laut leaves in concentration of 2,5%, 5% and 7,5% administrated. In group V, 1% Na-CMC as negative control administrated. Induction carried out by injection 1% w/v carrageen 0,1 ml subcutan on the feet palm of mice. One hour later each group administered the preparation test 1 ml/30 gBW orally. The measurement of edema volume carried out prior and after administration of the tested preparation 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The data correlation between induction and antiinflammation effect analysed. Result indicated variety with n-hexane extract of Beruwas Laut leaves have the antiinflammation effect at concentration 7,5%. Key Word : Antiinflammation, Scaevola taccada (Gaertn.) Abstract

A research on Toxicity assay of Extract Ethanol  Red Fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lam) upon Brine Shrimp Lethality Test which intended to know the toxic effect of Red Fruit and supposed to determine Lc50 of the Red fruit by method Brine Shrimp Lethality Test. The ethanol ekstrak, was made in various concentration 10, 100, 1000 µg/ml. Mean while, for negative control was seawater which made by the same concentration. In each concentration has put in 10 brine shrimp. Each concentration has put 1 drop of yeast extract as source of food. The volume is added to 10 ml, observation is done after 24 hours treatment. Observation result in dead brine shrimp data. From the counted of probit analysis method obtained Lc50 value was that  52,844 ± 25,679 µg/ml.
