Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Head control is a disorder of the cerebral palsy (CP) spastic quadriplegi due to central nervous system problems that serve as the basis of movement to be achieved for further development. Physiotherapy actions that can be given are stimulation attitudional reflex exercise (SARE) and prone position wedge exercise (PPWE). Purpose: This study aims to determine whether SARE is better than PPWE for head control in CP spastic quadriplegi. Methods: This research uses experimental pre and post test control group design is done at Rajawali Citra Bantul Hospital. Subjects were 24 children with CP spastic quadriplegi divided into 2 groups, group I was given SARE for 3 repetitions in 1 hour of therapy sessions and group II was given PPWE for 30 minutes. All groups were given treatment 1 time a week for 6 weeks as a refresher intervention and educated the family to do every day at home. Increased head control is measured by gross motor functional measurement. Result: Statistical test of paired sample t-test in group I and group II p value = 0.001 where (p < 0.05) there was an increase of head control. From independent t-test p value = 0.001 where (p < 0.05), it can be concluded that there are significant differences between group I with group II. Based on the mean values in both treatment groups, the group I have larger head control improvement of 33.19% than group II which only 16.96%. Conclusion: SARE is better than PPWE to increase head control on CP spastic quadriplegiKeywords: Head control, SARE, PPWE

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe basic techniques of volleyball used to use muscular group in our body, especially the leg’s muscles that is facilitating the springboard movement. Explosive power is the ability of muscles to exert maximum force in a very quick time. Leg muscle explosive power is one of the essential components required in the sport of volleyball particular in the motion of smash, passing and blocking hat needs to be improved by training plyometrics. The training that were conducted during this research are the plyometric depth jump and plyometric box jump training using the principle of progressive load with 3 times frequencies a week within 6 weeks. The aim of this study is to compare the explosive power of training leg muscle. This study use a randomized experimental design with pre test and post test group design for six weeks with 3 times frequencies a week. The sample’s numbers is 32 participants that was divided into two groups. The first group was given training in plyometrics depth jump and the second group was given training plyometrics box jump. The explosive power of leg muscle is measured by using a jump DF which measured before and after training for each groups. The result of this research is shown before training in group I is 42.25 ± 3.92 cm and 51.81 ± 4.41cm after training (p <0.05). While, in group II the mean shows 40.25 ± 5.14 cm before training and 45.25 ± 5.07 cm after training (p <0.05). Training in group I can increase explosive power leg muscle than group II (p <0.05). Based on the result, it is concluded that the plyometric depth jump training is more better than the plyometric box jump training in increasing explosive power leg muscle for the students of volley ball extracurricular at SMK Negeri 1 Petang.Keywords: plyometrics depth jump training and box jump, explosive power leg muscle, sports volleyball.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Short-term memory plays a role in all children's cognitive processes both in understanding the language, working on the task and problem-solving process. The speed of cognitive processes in children depend on the degree of activation of short-term memory. With stimulation that given in the form of brain-activating movements is expected to integrate short-term memory and long-term memory to generate new knowledge or expand the existing load in long-term memory. Cognitive function and academic achievement can also be influenced by the level of physical fitness. Physical fitness is very useful to support the physical capacity of children who in the end expected to improve his performance. Objective: This research was conducted to find out how big increase of short-term memory and physical fitness at the addition of Brain Gym in SSAI program at elementary school student of Inpres Pondang. Method: This research is true experimental, using two group pre and post test control group design. This research was conducted at SD Inpres Pondang, 3 times weekly for 6 weeks, at January 22, 2018 - March 05, 2018. The sample of research is 42 people divided into two groups. The Control Group in the form of SSAI program and the Treatment Group was given the addition of Brain Gym in the SSAI program. The measuring instrument used to memory span to measure short-term memory and TKJI to measure physical fitness. Results: The results of hypothesis testing using Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. Wilcoxon test results showed short-term memory improvement in the treatment group significantly (p<0.05), the control group showed significant short-term memory increase (p<0.05). The result of hypothesis test shows the value of increase of physical fitness index in the treatment group significantly (p<0.05). The increase value of physical fitness index in control group significantly (p<0.05). Mann Whitney test results showed the value of span digits in the treatment group and control group with p=0.005 (p<0.05). Physical fitness value in treatment group and control group with p value = 0.091 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Statistically there is a difference in the addition of brain gymnastics to SSAI in increasing short-term memory of elementary students. Statistically there is no difference in the addition of brain gymnastics in SSAI in improving physical fitness in elementary school students.Keywords: Short term memory, physical fitness, memory span, Indonesian physical fitness test, brain gym, healthy gymnastics Indonesian children.

Abstract

Peranan manusia dalam dunia industri sebagai sumber tenaga kerja masih dominan dalam menjalankan pekerjaannya, terutama kegiatan yang bersifat manual. Pekerjaan manual, khususnya yang berhubungan dengan kekuatan dan ketahanan manusia dalam melakukan pekerjaannya dapat menyebabkan masalah yang selama ini sering diabaikan, yaitu masalah ergonomi, diantaranya adalah nyeri punggung, nyeri leher, nyeri pada pergelangan tangan, siku dan kaki yang disebut gangguan muskuloskeletal. Selain itu, kondisi kerja yang tidak ergonomis meningkatkan aktivitas listrik otot yang diukur dengan surface electromyography. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menurunkan aktivitas listrik otot dan keluhan muskuloskeletal melalui upaya perbaikan stasiun kerja berbasis ergonomi. Penelitian eksperimental ini menggunakan rancangan sama subjek pada perajin ukir kayu di Desa Batuan Gianyar Bali dengan jumlah subjek 10 orang lelaki. Aktivitas listrik otot diukur pada saat bekerja dengan kondisi konvensional (Periode 1) dan dengan perbaikan stasiun kerja (Periode 2). Sedangkan data keluhan muskuloskeletal diukur pada saat sebelum dan sesudah bekerja saat kondisi kerja konvensional (Periode 1) dan kondisi kerja setelah perbaikan stasiun kerja (Periode 2). Data hasil pengukuran antara kedua periode dianalisis dengan uji Paired Samples t Test dan Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Data hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terjadi penurunan aktivitas listrik otot Trapeziussebesar 17,44% dan aktivitas listrik otot Erector Spinaesebesar 12,28% setelah perbaikan stasiun kerja. Rerata keluhan muskuloskeletal mengalami penurunan sebesar 8,9 yang diukur sesudah bekerja pada Periode 1 dan Periode 2. Disimpulkan bahwa perbaikan stasiun kerja berbasis ergonomi dapat menurunkan aktivitas listrik otot dan keluhan muskuloskeletalpada perajin ukir kayu di Desa Batuan Gianyar Bali.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi saat ini telah meningkatkan perilaku sedentari yang dilakukan oleh anak-anak, seperti menonton televisi, bermain komputer, dan juga bermain video games. Beberapa penelitian terakhir menunjukkan bahwa perilaku sedentari yang berlebihan dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya berbagai masalah kesehatan, salah satunya adalah obesitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku sedentari, prevalensi obesitas, dan juga hubungan antara perilaku sedentari dengan indeks massa tubuh pada siswa kelas 5 di SD Cipta Dharma Denpasar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik dengan studi cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 51 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ), kuesioner pola makan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang pola makan yang merupakan variabel perancu, serta penghitungan berat badan dan tinggi badan menggunakan timbangan dan microtoise. Dari 51 siswa, 17,6% mengalami obesitas. Hampir sebagian besar siswa melakukan perilaku sedentari >5 jam sehari. Menonton televisi merupakan kegiatan dengan rata-rata terbanyak yakni 1,8 jam. Hubungan antara perilaku sedentari dengan indeks massa tubuh menunjukkan nilai p sebesar 0,1. Pada penelitian ini tidak didapatkan hubungan antara perilaku sedentari dengan indeks massa tubuh. Kedepannya diharapkan adanya penelitian lebih lanjut dengan desain penelitian yang lebih baik tentang perilaku sedentari, indeks massa tubuh, serta faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi.

Abstract

IMPROVEMENT OF WORK STATION REDUCE MUSCLE ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY AND MUSCULOSKELETAL COMPLAINTS AMONG WOOD CRAFTSMEN IN BATUAN VILLAGE GIANYAR BALIThe role of humans in the industrialized world as a source of labor is still dominant in the work, especially in the manual activities. Manual work, particularly with regard to the strength and endurance of humans in their worklead to problems namely ergonomic problems, including back pain, neck pain, pain in the wrists, elbows and feet called musculoskeletal disorders. In addition, unergonomicworking conditionsincrease theelectrical activity of musclesthat measured bysurfaceelectromyography. This studyaimed to reducemuscleelectrical activity andmusculoskeletal complaintsthroughimprovement of workstationbased on ergonomic. Treatment by subject design was used in this experimentalstudyamongwoodcraftsmeninBatuanvillage GianyarBaliwith atotal 10 male subjects. Theelectrical activity of muscleswere measured when working in conventional working condition (1stPeriod) andwith improved work stations(2ndPeriod). While, musculoskeletal complaintswere measuredbefore andafterworkingwitha conventionalworking conditions(1stPeriod) and with improved work stations(2ndPeriod). Datameasurement resultsbetween the twoperiodswere analyzedwithPaired Samples t TestandWilcoxonSigned RanksTest.Dataresultsshowed thatTrapeziusmuscleelectricalactivitydecreased by17.44% andErector Spinaemuscleelectrical activitydecreased by12.28% afterwork station improvement and the averageof musculoskeletal disordersalso decreased by 8.9as measuredafterworkingin the 1stPeriodand2ndPeriod. Abstract

BACKPACK LOAD REDUCTION DECREASED THE ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY OF THE STUDENTS BACK MUSCLES IN MEDICAL FACULTY UDAYANA UNIVERSITYBack muscle fatigue often occur at the student as a result of the heavy backpack used. Electromyography test has been conducted to provide a description of back muscle electrical activity that occurs in students. This study aims to investigates the influence of backpack used to electrical activity of the students back muscles in medical faculty udayana university. Has carried out a research with treatment by subject design in Medical Faculty Udayana University students. This study used 17 subjects (mean body mass : 52.59 ± 2.74 kg). This study was conducted first with measure the upper trapezius and erector spine muscles electrical activity with electromyography when the subjects wear the backpack with load 15% of body mass (measure A), then remeasurement when the subjects wear the backpack with load 10% of body mass (measure B). The results showed that backpack used with light load have a significant value statistically to decreased electrical activity of upper trapezius and erector spine muscles (p = 0,000).

Abstract

ABSTRACTWeight training is one of the exercises needed to achieve physical fitness. This exercise can increase muscle mass and metabolic function of the muscles so that it becomes an important exercise in the condition of the metabolic syndrome. Muscle is the largest hormone-sensitive tissue in the human body, this tissue consumes a lot of oxygen and consumes most of the glucose through the mediation of insulin. Weight training results in hypertrophy or increase in muscle mass and hyperplasia or increase in the number of muscle cells. Various biomolecular mechanisms can explain the hypertrophy and hyperplasia processes including the anabolic mTOR pathway, the catabolic pathway myostatin - Smad and the repair pathway by Satellite Cells. Understanding of the biomolecular process can provide a theoretical foundation in developing a weight training program so that the exercise becomes effective and safe.Keyword : weight training, metabolic syndrom, muscle hipertrophy

Abstract

ABSTRAKGangguan tidur pada ibu hamil trimester III disebabkan oleh adanya ketidaknyamanan, keadaan perut yangsemakin besar, nyeri punggung, sering buang air kecil, pergerakan janin, nyeri di ulu hati (heartburn), kelelahan, kramtungkai, kesulitan untuk memulai tidur, dan perubahan fisiologis. Gangguan tidur mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunankualitas tidur. Ibu hamil yang memiliki kualitas tidur buruk beresiko mengalami proses persalinan yang lama, melahirkansecara sesar, kelahiran prematur, dan bahkan kematian bayi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaanpenambahan kombinasi back massage pada senam hamil dalam meningkatkan kualitas tidur ibu hamil trimester III.Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperiment dengan pendekatan quasi eksperiment dan desain penelitian pre andpost test with control design. Sampel berjumlah 18 orang, yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan 9orang diberikan senam hamil dan back massage dan kelompok kontrol 9 orang hanya diberikan senam hamil. Intervensidiberikan sebanyak 8 kali. Kuisioner Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) digunakan sebagai alat ukur kualitas tidur.Hasil uji beda selisih kelompok tidak berpasangan, pada kelompok perlakuan didapat beda rerata 4,556 dan kelompokkontrol didapat beda rerata 2,333 dengan p=0,004 (p<0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaanyang bermakna antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dalam meningkatkan kualitas tidur ibu hamil trimesterIII. Kesimpulan, terdapat perbedaan penambahan kombinasi back massage pada intervensi senam hamil dalammeningkatkan kualitas tidur ibu hamil trimester III.Kata kunci: Senam hamil, Back massage, Kualitas tidur, Trimester III

Abstract

ABSTRAKNyeri kepala dapat disebabkan oleh adanya peningkatan ketegangan pada otot upper trapezius. Nyeri kepalaini ditandai dengan adanya trigger point dan tautband otot upper trapezius. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmembandingkan antara intervensi positional release technique dan infrared dengan contract relax stretching daninfrared terhadap penurunan nyeri kepala akibat ketegangan otot upper trapezius. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimentaldengan rancangan pre dan post-test group design terhadap 24 orang yang dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok. Kelompok1 mendapatkan positional release technique dan infrared, sedangkan Kelompok 2 mendapatkan contract relaxstretching dan infrared. Hasil analisis data dengan paired sample t-test pada Kelompok 1 menunjukan rerata2,242±0,329 dan p=0,001, sedangkan Kelompok 2 menunjukan rerata 2,225±0,201 dan p=0,001. Dari hasil analisistersebut menunjukan pada tiap kelompok terdapat penurunan nyeri yang bermakna. Berdasarkan uji independentsamples t-test antara kelompok 1 dan 2 diperoleh nilai p=0,882 (p>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa intervensi positionalrelease technique dan infrared sama baik dengan contract relax stretching dan infrared terhadap penurunan nyerikepala akibat ketegangan otot upper trapezius.Kata Kunci: Nyeri kepala, otot upper trapezius, positional release technique, contract relax stretching, infrared, VAS
