Abstract

The establishing a pesantren in a prostitution area is a very interesting topic to bestudied. This is because the challenge would be different from building a pesantren inother community situations. This article based on the research on the roles of DarutTaubah pesantren in teaching of moral values to commercial sex workers at Saritemprostitution area. This is a qualitative  case study research using a phenomenology approach. Data was gathered using observation, in-depth interview, and documentary research. Data was analyzed utilizing inductive approach. Finding of this study showsthat the establishment of Darut Taubah pesantren was motivated by cultural andstructural factors. Moreover, teaching of moral values was conducted through reorganizing structural and instrumental elements using many ways namely; persuasive method and prioritizing the roles of pesantren, teaching moral values and developing the social roles. After the existence of Darut Taubah pesantren in Saritem area, the prostitutionactivities decrease significantly either in terms of quantity or intensity.

Abstract

Pesantren generally practices regulation for the forming of character and discipline santri. But in reality the institution applying total institution always emerges resistance. This research wanted to know the pattern of covert resistance by santri to order of discipline. The method of collecting data were taken through observation, depth interview, and documentation study. From the result of inductively data analysis, it is known that the resistance pattern of santri who performed in groups provides space of collective identity development. With a collective identity, all santri develop cooperation to protect one another, especially in the framework of tight regulation manage in pesantren.

Abstract

This paper presents the research results on Quality of Raudhatul Athfal (RA) in Perspective of Early Childhood Education Standards (PAUD) in Jambi City. RA is an institution of Early Childhood Education which is equivalent with kindergarten. As a formal educational institution, RA is required to meet the educational standards as stated in Government Regulation No. 19 of 2005 on National Education Standards which was further refined by Government Regulation No. 23 of 2013. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach for 25 days with the data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. A number of important findings from this research were: (1) the research targets mostly met the PAUD standard, except in the aspect of standard of achievement level, process standard and standard of infrastructure; (2) effective communication between teachers and parents and the educators was a factor supporting the continuity of RA, while the limited facilities and infrastructure and the absence of State RA that served as a model or coach was one of the obstacles to improve the quality of RA; (3) the teacher selection model and the accomplished headmaster of RA conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs became a part of the effort to make the teachers improve their performance that was needed maintaining. Abstract

The development of Islam in Indonesia had born many Islamic scholars (ulama) who had highest skills in writing that it were admitted in locally and globally. This study was the results of review literatures to Hamka’s writing, the great ulama in 20th century in education fields. Through qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, this study found that Hamka was a education scholar and involved in education practices. His ideas of Islamic education referred to students’ pure potency, namely the student’s soul (al-qalb), physic (al-jism), and ratio (al-‘aql) which focus to soul education or akhlak al-karimah. The differencesof Hamka’s ideas could be prooved through his writing such as the Tafsir al-Azhar, Falsafah Hidup, Lembaga Hidup, Lembaga Budi, Tasawuf Modern, and etc. Keywords: Hamka, Indonesian Muslim scholar, education thought, Islam Perkembangan Islam di Indonesia telah melahirkan banyak ulama besar yang memiliki kemampuan tinggi dalam menulis berbagai karya yang diakui secara nasional, bahkan dunia internasional. Tulisan ini merupakan hasil kajian pustaka terhadap karya-karya Hamka, seorang ulama besar pada abad XX terkait tema pendidikan. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis secara deskriptif dapat diketahui, bahwa Hamka merupakan pemikir pendidikan dan terlibat praktis dalam dunia pendidikan. Pemikirannya tentang pendidikan Islam mengacu pada potensi (fiṭrah) peserta didik, yaitu jiwa (al-qalb), jasad (al-jism), dan aqal (al-‘aql) dengan penekanan pada aspek pendidikan jiwa atau akhlak al-karimah. Ketegasan warna pemikirannya dapat dibuktikan melalui buah karyanya, seperti Tafsir al-Azhar, Falsafah Hidup, Lembaga Hidup, Lembaga Budi, Tasawuf Modern, dan yang lainnya. Abstract

Most people recognize that learning to be good character primarily begins with family. Despite the primary role of parents, most people also expect that schools should and do have a role in character development. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is an Islamic elementary school that provides alternative character education based on religious values. This article presents the results of a research on character education developed by Private Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Usmaniyah in Bagan Batu, Riau Province. Data collection techniques used for this research include observation, interviews, and document study. This research found that in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Usmaniyah character development is infused into every aspect of the school culture, curriculum, and extra-curricular activities. In this madrasah character education is designed and implemented by taking into account the aspirations of the madrasah stakeholders. People consider this participatory nature of character education is more effective in nurturing good character in students. Key Words: Character education, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Usmaniyah, Riau. Banyak orang menerima, bahwa pendidikan karakter yang baik utamanya dimulai dari keluarga. Meskipun demikian, banyak orang juga mengharapkan sekolah berperan dalam pengembangan karakter. Madrasah ibtidaiyah adalah sebagai bentuk satuan pendidikan tingkat dasar yang menawarkan solusi alternatif melalui pendidikan karakter yang bersumber dari nilai-nilai agama. Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang pendidikan karakter yang dikembangkan Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta (MIS) Al-Usmaniyah Bagan Batu Propinsi Riau. Metode pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara mendalam, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menemukan, bahwa pembentukan karakter yang dilakukan oleh MIS Al-Usmaniyah dituangkan dalam bentuk budaya madrasah, yang dijadikan sebagai pedoman bagi pengembangan karakter peserta didik, diimplementasikan dalam setiap mata pelajaran dan ekstra kurikuler bernuansa keagamaan dengan memperhatikan aspirasi dari seluruh elemen madrasah. Konsep pembentukan karakter seperti itu dipandang lebih efektif untuk menumbuhkan karakter terpuji siswa. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan karakter, madrasah ibtidaiyah Al-Usmaniyah, Riau.

Abstract

Managing accreditation performance is one of the quality improvement program in the field of education. It is important and strategic effort to provide comprehensible information to the public about the quantitative and qualitative strengths of the madrasa. This paper presents the results of a research on the problem of achieving accreditation of Madrasah Aliyah in the Riau Islands. Using the literature study, observations, interviews and documentations, this study found the weakness of Madrasah Aliyah in Riau Islands in achieving accreditation. It gets average rank on educators, infrastructure and financial standards, mainly for private madrasas. Therefore, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to provide guidance and assistance to support acceleration of accreditation program, and to provide appropriate assistance in relation to the completeness of administrative matters and learning infrastructures. Keywords: Accreditation, Madrasah Aliyah, education, Riau Islands Penyelenggaraan akreditasi merupakan salah satu program peningkatan mutu di bidang pendidikan. Keberadaannya tidak hanya penting, tetapi juga strategis untuk memberikan informasi yang komprehensif kepada masyarakat mengenai kekuatan madrasah, baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil studi tentang problematika pencapaian akreditasi Madrasah Aliyah di Kepulauan Riau. Pengumpulan data dengan studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menemukan kelemahan Madrasah Aliyah di Kepulauan Riau dalam pencapaian akreditasi rata-rata berkisar pada standar tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan, standar sarana dan prasarana serta standar pembiayaan terutama bagi madrasah-madrasah yang statusnya swasta. Oleh sebab itu, Kementerian Agama diharapkan melakukan pembinaan dan pendampingan yang lebih intensif guna mendukung program percepatan akreditasi serta memberikan bantuan secara tepat terkait kelengkapan adminitrasi dan sarana prasarana pembelajaran. Abstract

AbstractEducation today is colored and dominated by theories derived from Western thought, while theories of Muslim scientists who refer to al-Quran and al-Hadith are much neglected even though their thoughts are very interesting and important for the development of model of Islamic education in Indonesia. The article presents the results of the reception of the book of Muqaddimah authored by Ibn Khaldun related to learning model. The data was collected by heuristic and hermeneutic reading (analytical reading) on the book. Results of the analysis showed that the learning model (rihlah) done by many teachers through direct face-to-face learning patterns (sorogan, wetonan or bandongan) can maintain the validity of the science and expand knowledge and foster social institutions that can provide a very meaningful experience for educators and learners.AbstrakDunia pendidikan saat ini banyak diwarnai dan didominasi oleh teori-teori yang bersumber dari pemikiran Barat, sementara teori-teori dari ilmuan muslim yang mengambil sumber dari al-Quran dan al-Hadist banyak terabaikan, padahal buah fikir mereka sangat menarik dan penting untuk pengembangan model pendidikan Islam di Indonesia.Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil resepsi terhadap kitab Muqaddimah karya Ibnu Khaldun terkait model pembelajaran. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik (pembacaan analitis) atas kitab tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran (rihlah) yang dilakukan dengan banyak guru melalui pola pembelajaran langsung bertatap muka (sorogan, wetonan atau bandongan) dapat menjaga validitas ilmu dan memperluas pengetahuan serta menumbuhkan pranata sosial yang bisa memberikan pengalaman yang sangat bermakna bagi pendidik dan peserta didik.

Abstract

abstrakPesantren as one of the institutions of Islamic education in Indonesia is considered to  have  contributed  quite  signiicantly  in  the development of national education. However, the issue encountered by people from various social stratiications in education, including pesantren, is the low quality and relevance of education to the labor market needs. In fact, many pesantren alumni have no choice of employment to meet their needs in the real life. This paper presents the results of research on independence-based education life  skills  and  local  potential  in  Pesantren  Darul Hikam Banjaran Bandung regency. The study was conducted using qualitative approach and case study designed naturalistically. Data was collected through observation, interview and documentation methods. Inductive data analysis identiied models of life skills education for students with self-reliance and local potential capitals. Two-wheeled vehicle mechanical  skill  in  Pesantren  Darul  Hikam  that uses  local  curriculum  with  a  ratio  of  20%  theory and 80% practice empowers senior students to be the  teachers  assisted  by  local  BLK has  been able to  equip  the  students  with  skills  in  automotive detailing allowing them to be ready to enter the professional world.Keywords: education, Life skills, PesantrenabstrakPesantren sebagai salah satu lembaga pendidikan Islam di Indonesia dinilai memiliki kontribusi yang tidak kecil dalam pembangunan pendidikan nasional. Namun persoalan masyarakat dari berbagai stratiikasi sosial dalam dunia pendidikan termasuk pesantren adalah rendahnya mutu dan relevansi pendidikan dengan kebutuhan pasar kerja. Bahkan, banyak alumni pesantren yang tidak memiliki pilihan lapangan kerja untuk menenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya di masyarakat. tulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang pendidikan kecakapan hidup berbasis kemandirian dan potensi lokal di Pesantren Darul Hikam Banjaran Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan rancangan studi kasus yang bersifat naturalistik. tehnik pengumpulan melalui pengamatan, wawancara mendalam dan metode dokumentasi. Analisa data secara induktif menemukan model pendidikan kecakapan hidup bagi santri dengan modal kemandirian dan potensi lokal. Pendidikan kecakapan hidup otomotif roda dua di Pesantren Darul Hikam menggunakan kurikulum lokal dengan perbandingan 20 % teori dan 80 % praktek, memberdayakan santri senior sebagai guru dan dibantu dari BLK setempat telah mampu membekali keterampilan santri dibidang otomotif sehingga siap memasuki dunia kerja.Kata Kunci:  Pendidikan, Kecakapan Hidup, Pesantren
