Abstract

Corn is an important crop. Potency of corn productivity in Indonesia are still low. Main obstacles of increasing corn productivity is convertion of fertile land into non agriculture interest. the increase of corn productivity can be done by administrating NPK fertilizer and hybrid variety. This research is aiming at deciding and analyzing the effect of NPK fertilizer administration and hybrid corn variety towards growth and result. This research was held in June to October 2017, at Srimartani Village, Piyungan Districts, Bantul Regency, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta with regosol soil type and land altitude around 80 meter above sea surface. This experiment arranged in split plot design by factorial. Experimented factor are two corn hybrid variety ABCD and EFGH (main plot) with three doses of NPK fertilizer 200, 300 and 400 kg ha-1 (sub plot). The result of research show that there are responds in two variety towards NPK fertilizer dosage almost same (unreal interraction). ABCD and EFGH variety reach highest result of height and component at 300 kg ha-1doses. Variable of cob weight with husk, cob weight without husk, cob length, total row, dry pipilan weight per plot, 100 seeds weight, fresh stover wieght, dry stover weight, harvest index and yield per hectare the highest average is variety of EFGH. NPK fertilizer dosage 300 kg ha-1 is the best amount to optimally increase the growth and yield of hybird corn (8,92 ton ha-1). EFGH variety with 300 kg ha-1 NPK fertilizer dosage can increase the potency of hybird corn yield. EFGH variety is showing better results (9,26 ton ha-1). ?

Abstract

Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is one of superior kind of plant which has many benefits as medicinal plants. Cultivation of temulawak not yet intensively and grown on the land under the trees. Therefore, this research was important to get shade and water stress levels appropriate for cultivation of temulawak and higher producing secondary metabolities. This research used a nested design with two treatment, that is shade (without shade, 25%, 50%, 75%) and water stress (without water stress, 75%, 50%, 25% field capacity) with five replicants. Result were analyzed using analysis of variance and if there significant diference followed by DMRT 5% level. The result showed without shade treatment increase growth of temulawak include number of leaves, fresh weight of plant and dry weight of plants, and shade 50% increase plants height. The treatment of without water stress increase growth and yield of temulawak include number of tillers, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight of plants, fresh weight and dry weight of rhizomes. The levels of curcumin increase on shade 25% and water stress 25%.

Abstract

Turmeric is a medicinal plant that has largest secondary metabolites (curcumin). Improving secondary metabolites with abiotic stress that the provision of shade and water stress. This research aims to study the effects of shade and water stress on growth and yield of turmeric and content of secondary metabolites. The study uses a nested design with two factors, namely shade (without shade, 25%, 50%, 75%) and water stress (without stress, 25% field capacity, 50% field capacity, 25% field capacity). Analysis using the F test and DMRT 5% level. The results showed that shade did not effect to fresh and dry weight of plant. 75% shade decrease root lenght, fresh and dry weight of rhizome. Water stress did not effect to growth and yield of turmeric. The highest curcumin results in conditions without shade and without stress.

Abstract

Potential development of medicinal plants in Karanganyar is very large, because this area is famous as a center of medicinal plants such as ginger, turmeric, kencur, and temulawak. In the development of medicinal plants, the approach of organic cultivation is one of the alternatives that can be done to achieve the business. Therefore the application of technology to society about organic farming on Biopharmaca Cluster of Karanganyar was conducted with the aim to apply organic cultivation techniques that have resulted from previous studies, so it can be applied by the community to increase income and welfare. This application of technology to society activity is held in Sambirejo, Jumantono, Karanganyar. The research was conducted from March to October 2016. The results showed that the application of chicken manure affects the number of leaves, number of tillers, and the fresh weight of turmeric rhizome. The addition of manure (chicken, goat, cow) can increase all variables of planting growth which include plant height, number of leaf, number of tillers, fresh weight of plant, dry weight of plant, and fresh weight of rhizomes. Giving three types of manure (chicken, goat, cow) with mycorrhizal dose treatment there is no intraction to some growth observation variables. Mycorrhizal treatment with a dose of 10 g/plant can increase the number of tillers in turmeric. Overall the application of mycorrhizal at various doses (5, 10, and 15 g/plant) can increase plant height, leaf number, number of tillers, and fresh weight of turmeric rhizome.

Abstract

Soil is growing media for plant growth. It preserves water and nutrients for plants. The physical  changes in soil affect the life of roots and plant performances. The goal of  research  was to  change physical condition in soil through mulching for increasing pepper plant production. Land for pepper cultivation was mulched using rice straws and plastic sheet (PE). Physical condition such as soil suhue and humidity and content of organic matters in the soil were measured or examined. Also, production components such as plant height and stalk diameter were measured as well as fruit production. The result showed that mulching increased significantly soil suhue and humidity as well as content of organic matters in the soil. Mulching increased plat height, diameter of stalk, and fruit production, especially in using  rice straws Therefore, mulching have  a role in increasing growth and production pepper fruit  through modification of physical condition in soil.Keywords :  mulching, growth, production, pepper

Abstract

Terrorism is a crime against humanity and civilization and is one serious threat to the sovereignty of every country. As a manifestation of the handling and handling of terrorist acts of terrorism the Indonesian government established national legislation. Referring to international conventions and legislation relating to terrorism, the government issued Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 1 of 2002, which was then approved by the House of Representatives into Law No. 15 of 2003 on Combating Terrorism Crimes. Along with the enactment of the Act on Criminal Acts of Terrorism, it appears that some of the weaknesses of the Act is one of them that is related to the process of investigation in Article 26 Paragraph 2 of the Law on Combating Terrorism Criminal which is considered too long process to the exclusion that the criminal act of terrorism is Extra Ordinary Crime (extraordinary crime). Based on the above description of the issues discussed there are 2 (two), namely: First, Is the formulation of the investigation policy in Law Number 15 Year 2003 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism can prevent the occurrence of criminal acts of terrorism. Second, how is the formulation policy of investigation in the Anti-Terrorism Penal Code in the future.

Abstract

Java turmeric is a medicinal plant which in top ranks in its uses. Many people choose herbal treatments for their health. This study aims to investigate the response of the multiplication of java turmeric against granting PGR NAA and young coconut water in vitro. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Tissue Culture, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The research was arranged in a Fully Randomized Design with 16 treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that giving kombination treatment of 0,5 ppm NAA and 60% young coconut water was able to increase root amount with by an average of 20,33. NAA 1,5 ppm can increase buds amount at 2 buds. Giving 20% young coconut water treatment were also capable of increase average length buds, root length in sequence 7,37 cm and 7,37 cm.

Abstract

Rice is the main product in Indonesia in the context of the supply of rice as a national food. Efforts to increase rice production are faced with various constraints such as fertilization ineffective and under-utilization of hybrid varieties by farmers. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in nutrient application through the leaves on the growth and yield of china?s hybrid rice. The method used is strip plots design. The design consists of two factors, namely the variety and diversity of nutrient factors. There are five varieties of rice that are used with 3 treatments a difference nutrient which is water, micro nutrient, complete nutrient. The results obtained indicate that the applications of micro-complete nutrient through the leaves have outcomes on the growth parameters that affect on plant height and the parameters of production that is the total number of grains per hill, weight of grain content per hill and percentage of grain content. Then, hybrid rice which has the highest potential yield after applying nutrient based on the amount of grain per clump is Hybrid I and Hybrid III.

Abstract

Kaempferia rotunda that long ago been used to treat gastrointestinal disorders and also treat cancer, has promising opportunities to cultivate. There are several obstacles in cultivation today. Plant propagation by in vitro can be one solution. Basic media and plant growth promoting substance usage is an important factor which has to be concerned. Research aiming to produce high quality seed and in large numbers. Research has been carried out in Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, during July 2014 to August 2015. This research was used MS (Murashige and Skoog) media with combination treatment of each IBA and BAP concentration of 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 ppm. The number of shoots that appear on the explant is the main observation variables. The results showed IBA and BAP are likely to affect the appearance of buds as much as 2 pieces in each explant at 0 ppm IBA treatment.

Abstract

Artemisia annua is a herbaceous plant that produces artemisinin as a malaria drug, haemorrhoids therapy, aromatherapy, antiviral, anticancer and antibacterial. Gloriosa superba is a plant that contains high colchicine compounds, especially on the seeds. Gloriosa superba extracts of tubers, stems, seeds, and leaves were used as biomutagen for many plants. Colchicine contains of these plants as antimitotic have been studied and proven by the mitotic index plants. Water extracts of Gloriosa superba seeds was used as a mutagen for Artemisia annua. The aim of this study was to determine the size and density of Artemisia annua stomata soaked in water extract of Gloriosa superba seeds as a mutagen. Extraction of Gloriosa superba seeds obtained naturally on Krakal Beach, Gunung Kidul by using a maceration method with water solvent (1:1). Artemisia annua sprouts were obtained from B2P2TOOT Tawangmangu. Variables treatment on sprouts using water extract concentration of Gloriosa superba seeds and soaking time of Artemisia annua sprouts. Measurements of stomatal length, width and density were conducted in epidermis of Artemisia annua leaf. Observation and measurements of the stomata were conducted by using a light microscope. The results showed that the length and width of stomata were 0.025 mm and 0.017 mm respectively. The stomatal density of the control leaf (174.69 amount/mm2) was lower than the other treated plants. Stomatal size and density has increased with the increasing concentration extracts on treated plants. Water extracts of Gloriosa superba seeds proved the effects on stomatal size and density of treated plants.
