Abstract

Background : At present the problem of hypertension does not only occur in elderly people, but also has a lot happening in adolescence and early adulthood. Many factors affect blood pressure. One of them is sodium intake. The results of preliminary observations to 10 students, on average students consumed sodium from food and instant drinks of 743.81 mg / day. This does not include the source of sodium from food consumed daily.Objective : The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between sodium intake and blood pressure in students of Campus III Poltekkes Semarang.Method : This study included the field of clinical nutrition with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was 34-21 year old students totaling 34 people. Data collection includes systolic, diastolic and sodium intake. To find out the relationship between variables used Rank Spearman test with 95% confidence level.Result : The test results showed an average systolic blood pressure of 111.71 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure of 75.5 mmHg and sodium intake of 1632.8 mg / day. Students with abnormal systolic blood pressure were 20.6%, abnormal diastolic blood pressure was 20.6% and consumption of sodium 001500 mg / day was 79.6%.Conclution : The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between sodium intake and systolic blood pressure (p = 0.043) and r = 0.348. There is a relationship between sodium intake and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.002) and r = 0.518. It is recommended to do further research regarding the relationship between sodium intake and blood pressure and other factors that affect blood pressure.

Abstract

Background : DM is a chronic disease, not infrequently patients with DM depends on drugs throughout life. Drug consumption brings economic impact besides side effects of course. Therefore it is necessary alternative treatment in preventing the occurrence of DM disease by using vegetables and fruits. Based on the results of Riskesdas 2013, DM prevalence increased from 1.1 percent (2007) to 2.1 percent, while in Semarang there was an increase from 13,112 cases (2013) to 15,464 cases (2014). The highest prevalence in Semarang that is in Kecamatan Pedurungan with working area of Tlogosari Wetan by 8.6%.Objective  : To determine the effect of tomato and lime juice on blood glucose levels in adult women aged 40-60 years.Methods  : This research was clinical nutrition research. The type of research was true experiment that used randomized pretest posttest control group design. The sample size is 20 treatments and 18 controls. The test used to determine the difference of blood glucose level between the treatment group and the control group is Independent T-test and to determine the effect of tomato juice and lime juice on blood glucose control with nutrient intake is ANOVA Repeated Measure Test.Results  : Based on statistical tests showed that in subjects with initial blood glucose high category (≥90 mg / dl) there was more decrease in blood glucose in the treatment group even though statistically not significant (p = 0,354). Subjects with initial blood glucose normal category (<90 mg / dl) there was decrease in blood glucose even though statistically not significant (p = 0,139).Conclusion  : Tomato and lime juice can decrease blood glucose levels in the research subjects, although statistically not significant.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Banyak orang menghindari telur dengan alasan kandungan kolesterol dan lemBackground: Many people avoid eggs on the grounds of cholesterol and fat content. Banyak pula rekomendasi diet untuk mencegah penyakit jantung dan dislipidemia termasuk pembatasan asupan kolesterol. Namun, pembatasan asupan kolesterol mungkin juga mengurangi asupan zat gizi lain diantaranya adalah lesitin, padahal lesitin mengandung zat gizi penting seperti kolin, fosfat dan asam lemak. Many dietary recommendations for preventing heart disease and dyslipidemia, including restriction of cholesterol intake. However, this restriction of cholesterol intake may also reduce the intake of other nutrients such as lecithin, and lecithin contains important nutrients such as choline, phosphate and fatty acids. Lesitin juga berfungsi untuk membentuk membran sel. Tujuan : Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian telur dengan cara pengolahan yang berbeda terhadap kadar kolesterol total, kolesterol LDL, kolesterol HDL dan trigliserida serum pada hewan percoObjective: This study was conducted to investigate the influence of eggs with different processing methods on serum total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and serum triglycerides in mice. Metode : Penelitian eksperimental dengan kontrol random ( randomized controled trial ) menggunakan rancangan eksperimental ulang ” pretest posttest control group design ”.Methods: Experimental study with random controls (controled randomized trial) using experimental design re "pretest posttest control group design." Variabel pengaruhnya adalah cara pengolahan kuning telur, sedangkan variabel terpengaruhnya adalah kadar  kolesterol total, kolesterol LDL, kolesterol HDL dan trigliserida. Variable influence is the way of processing the yolk, whereas the character of the variable is total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah wistar jantan ( Rattus Novergicus Strain Wistar ), dibagi dalam 4 kelompok yaitu kelompok A mendapat ransum kuning telur rebus, kelompok B mendapat ransum kuning telur goreng, kelompok C mendapat ransum kuning telur mentah dan kelompok kontrol mendapat ransum standart. Besar sampel yang diperlukan untuk masing-masing kelompok sebanyak 5 ekor ditambah 20% sebagai cadangan sehingga totalnya sebanyak 24 ekor. Sebelum perlakuan, masing-masing kelompok diukur kadar kolesterol total, kolesterol LDL, kolesterol HDL dan trigliserida dan diukur kembali satu bulan setelah perlakuan. The sample in this study were male Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus strain Wistar), were divided into 4 groups: group A received ration of boiled egg yolk, group B gets fried egg yolk diet, group C received diet of raw egg yolk and the control group received standard diet. Large sample required for each group of 5 mice plus 20% as a backup so that in total as many as 24 individuals. Before treatment, each group was measured in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides and measured again one month after treatment. Uji ANOVA digunakan untuk menganalisis data antar kelompok perlakuan. ANOVA test was used to analyze data between treatment groups. Hasil : Ada kecenderungan penurunan kadar kolesterol total, kolesterol LDL dan kolesterol HDL pada kelompok yang mendapat ransum tambahan kuning telur yang direbus dan digoreng walaupun tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan (p>0,01).Results: There was a tendency to decrease total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol in those who received extra rations of boiled egg yolk and fried, although no significant effect (p> 0.01). Kadar trigliserida pada kelompok yang mendapat ransum tambahan kuning telur dengan cara pengolahan yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh peningkatan secara signifikan (p<0,01). Triglyceride levels in the group was given an additional ration of egg yolk in a different way of processing gives the effect of a significant increase (p <0.01). Pemberian kuning telur mentah cenderung memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kadar kolesterol total, kolesterol LDL dan trigliserida serta penurunan kolesterol HDL. Raw egg yolk tended to give effect to the increase of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and lower HDL cholesterol.

Abstract

Latar Belakang  : Diabetes melitustipe 2 merupakan penyakit diabetes melitus  dengan penyebab utama adalah pola makan (life style) yang tidak sehat. Pengaturan terapi diet memegang peranan penting dalam pengendalian kadar gula darah. Rainbow smoothies adalah salah satu modifikasi diet yang disajikan sebagai minuman segar kaya nutrisi, tinggi serat dan rendah IG serta dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah pasien DM tipe 2.Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas rainbow smoothies terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pada pasien DM Tipe 2 di klub senam.Metode  : Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan randomized pre test-post test control group design. Subyek penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dengan pengukuran kadar gula darah puasa sebanyak 3 kali selama 10 hari. Uji normalitas menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji repetead measure test.Hasil : Data yang dikumpulkan berdistribusi normal dan menunjukkan adanya penurunan kadar gula darah secara bermaknasebelum dan sesudah perlakuan (p<0,05). Penurunan kadar gula darah pada kelompok perlakuanyang diberi rainbow smoothies paling efektif hingga 43,75%  dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Terdapatperbedaan nilai rata-rata kadar gula darah pasien DM Tipe 2.

Abstract

Kegiatan PROLANIS merupakan kebijakan BPJS Kesehatan telah dilaksanakan di PuskesmasLeyangan Kabupaten Semarang sejak tahun 2015. Keterlibatan petugas kesehatan dalam teknikmemberikan penyuluhan gizi yang dianggap paling sulit yaitu Konseling Gizi. Tujuan pengabdianyaitu berperan serta melakukan kegiatan pendampingan secara teknis yaitu dengan memberikankonseling gizi pada peserta PROLANIS di Puskesmas Leyangan Kabupaten Semarang. Kegiatandilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2016 di Puskesmas Leyangan Kabupaten Semarang. Sasaranadalah peserta PROLANIS yang terdaftar yaitu penyandang hipertensi dan diabetus mellitussebanyak 30 orang. Bentuk kegiatan berupa Pendampingan Konseling Gizi. Data yangdikumpulkan adalah pengetahuan dan sikap peserta dalam bentuk Pre Tes dan Post Tes.Pengumpulan data dengan metoda wawancara menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Pengetahuandan sikap peserta meningkat setelah mendapatkan Konseling Gizi . Pendampingan Konseling giziefektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap peserta PROLANIS. Disarankan kegiatankonseling gizi dilaksanakan secara rutin setiap bulan sesuai hasil pemeriksaan kesehatan.

Abstract

Diet rendah energi dan peningkatan aktivitas secara individual belum efektif dalam penurunan berat badan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dicari metode lain atau memodifikasi metode dengan membentuk kelompok peer group aktivitas. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis efektifitas aktivitas peer group terhadap kepatuhan aktivitas fisik, kepatuhan diet, penurunan berat badan dan persen lemak tubuh pada remaja overweight. Desain penelitian menggunakan Randomized Controlled Trial dengan rancangan eksperimental ulang pre-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah remaja putri overweight sebanyak 13 orang kelompok kontrol dan 13 orang kelompok perlakuan. Subjek dilakukan intervensi berupa jogging minimal 30 menit dan naik turun tangga sebanyak 10 kali per hari selama empat minggu. Ukuran kepatuhan diet diambil setiap minggu berdasarkan hasil recall 2x24 jam selama 4 minggu. Perbedaan kepatuhan aktivitas fisik dan kepatuhan diet diuji menggunakan Chi Square Test sedangkan perubahan berat badan dan persen lemak tubuh menggunakan ANOVA Repeated Measure Test. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kepatuhan aktivitas fisik (p=0,000) dan penurunan berat badan (p=0,004) antara kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol namun tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kepatuhan diet (p>0,05) dan penurunan persen lemak tubuh (p=0,382) antara kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Peer group efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas fisik dan menurunkan berat badan pada remaja overweight.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is still faced with a triple burden of nutrition, such as malnutrition, stunting and overnutrition. According to UNICEF, one of the cause nutrition problems is the lack of knowledge about nutrition. The prevention of health problem starts at the early stage, namely the understanding of balance nutrition guideline in school-age children. New method need to be made to make it easier for students to arrest nutrition message, namely in the form of edutainment cards.Objective: To determine the effectiveness of nutrition education by using the edutainment card method on knowledge about balance nutrition guideline in elementary school.Research Methods: The type of research is Experimental with pre and post-control group design design. Sampling using random sampling technique to get 30 treatment samples and 30 control samples. Research was in SDN Palebon 02, conducted in Februari 2019. The data collected are sample identity dataand knowledge of balance nutrition guideline. The data was analysed by independent t-test with 95% confidence level.Results: There was significant difference in knowledge about balance nutrition guideline in the treatment and control groups after intervention with edutainment card method (p value = 0.001).Conclusion: Edutainment card as a media for education is effective for increasing nutrition knowledge in children

Abstract

Background : Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that arises before or during menstruation. The results of preliminary studies found that 70% of young women experience dysmenorrhea. Prostaglandin comes from arachidonic acid which is synthesized from linoleic fatty acids which function in the inflammatory response. In the case of anemia, the ability of hemoglobin to transport oxygen decreases, this will lead to more production of prostaglandin and trigger stronger uterine contractions.Objective : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between linoleic fatty acid intake and Hemoglobin (Hb) levels with the incidence of dysmenorrhea in young women.Method : This research is an analytical descriptive study in the field of clinical nutrition using a cross sectional design. The research subjects were 47 young women who had received menstruation. Data collection included 2x24 hour food recall to determine linoleic fatty acid intake and blood sampling to determine Hb levels. Variable analysis was carried out in the form of univariate and bivariate. Bivariate test uses fisher exact test.Results : 63.8% of respondents had more intake of linoleic fatty acids so that they were at risk of inflammation. 44.7% of respondents suffer from anemia. Respondents who had moderate dysmenorrhea were 66%. Respondents with more fat intake and moderate dysmenorrhea were 70% (p value = 0.029). Respondents suffering from anemia and experiencing moderate dysmenorrhea were 85.7% (p value = 0.012).Conclusion : Linoleic fatty acid intake and Hb levels were associated with the incidence of dysmenorrhea in young women.

Abstract

Background  : The prevalence of gout arthritis in Indonesia there is no definitive data. Epidemiological surveys conducted in Bandungan, Central Java on WHO-COPCORD cooperation on 4,683 samples aged between 15-65 years found that the prevalence of gout arthritis in women was 11.7% (Darmawan, 2003). The use of drugs aimed at lowering uric acid levels can cause some side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea so that the level of adherence will decrease (M. Adib, 2011). Objective  : To analalysis determine the effect of tomato-lemon juice on uric acid level of adult women aged 40-60 years. Methods  : A true experimental research design type with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Number of respondents 20 treatments and 18 controls. Intervention was performed for 21 days with the measurement of uric acid at before and after intervention. The test used is paired t test, independent t test and ANCOVA with 95% confidence degree. Result  : paired t test showed no difference of pre and post in treatment group (p>0,05). Analysis of the effect on the group with normal uric acid category p = 0.655, in the pre hyperuricemia group p = 0.235 and in hyperuricemia p = 0.221. There was a decrease in uric acid levels by 0.26 mg / dl in hyperuricemia but not significant. ANCOVA results show that juice will give significant effect if controlled with initial uric acid level (p = 0,00). Conclusion  : There was no effect of tomato-lime juice consumption on uric acid levels, but there was a decrease of 0.26 in the hyperuricemia group but not significant. It is recommended to do further research on hyperuricemia.

Abstract

Background: Epidemiological transition in Indonesia causes an increase in degenerative diseases, one of which is hypertension. Hypertension is influenced by various factors including fruit consumption, and coffee consumption. The prevalence of hypertension in Lumajang Regency is 24.4%.Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of fruit consumption, and coffee consumption habits with adult male hypertension status in Senduro Village, Senduro District, Lumajang RegencyMethod: This study included the field of clinical nutrition using a cross sectional design involving 54 adult men aged> 18 years. Sampling uses Simple Random Sampling. Data collected is the level of consumption of fruits with the consumption survey method, data on coffee consumption habits with interview methods, and sample blood pressure data with direct measurement methods. The test used is Chi Square with α = 0.05.Results: A total of 48.1% of the sample included in the hypertension category, 83.3% of the consumption level of fruits included in the less category, and 66.7% had the habit of consuming coffee with the frequent category. The fruit consumption level did not have a significant relationship with hypertension status, while coffee consumption habits were associated with hypertension status (p = 0.034; OR = 3.64; CI = 95%; 1,068–12,402).Conclusion: Frequent consumption of coffee has a risk of 3.64 times to experience hypertension. There is a tendency to link the lack of fruit consumption with the incidence of hypertension.
