Abstract

The Aims of this research was to know the differenrence of fluor content in saliva and plaque after was fissured sealent with Fuji VII. Research approach was experimental with Post test only group design. Research subject were twenty two children at 9-10 years old. Fluoride counted on subject at before fissured sealent at 1 days and after fissured sealent at 7,14,40 days. Every observated time, The data’s of fluor was measured using Spektrofotometri DR 2000. Then data’s were analyzed by using Two Way repeated Anova test. The result showed there was a difference of fluor amount at saliva and plaque after fissured sealent at every time observation (Two Way repeated Anova significanve). There was highest realesed fluor amount at 7days after fissured sealent and there was lower realesed fluor amount toward at 14,40 days. The Highest amount of fluor at saliva compared to plaque.

Abstract

One method to prevent caries prevalence is by breaking the chain of caries causes. Bacteria as an agent of caries decay can be diminished. Utilization of waste in nature is more valuable. Extraction of shell of squid and shrimp can be proceeded as Chitosan. Chitosan contain antibacterial agent based on many researches. Aim of this research to formulate mouth wash contain chitosan and its influences on plaque index and pH saliva after rinsing. Chitosan mouth wash formulation is by dissolving chitosan powder on aquadest and added chemical agent as flavour, coloring and solvent. Research subyek was 10 students, cross over rinsing with chitsan mouth wash and control mouth wash. Rinsing was done every day at morning and night after tooth brushing for 5 days. Plaque index and pH saliva measured first day before rinsing and last day. Subyek’s compliance was determined by volume of mouth wash rest in the bottle at last day research. Washing out time was five days before the next five days for another mouth wash. Research result shown significanly differences on plaque index and pH saliva before nd after rinsing with chitosan mouth wash (p≤ 0,05). Meanwhile there was no significanly differences after rinsing with control group. Raise of pH saliva after rinsing with chitosan mouth wash is higher compared to control grou.ntocaterial agent

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify differences of curing time for gingival bleeding and gingival pocket between the two Chitosan modalities. The study design was Quasi- experimental with pre-post test design. Mouthwash and Chitosan gel formulations were used in the Faculty of Pharmacy Yogyakarta’s laboratory. Respondents were older people in Sari Village, Gadjah Demak Sub-District, and were divided into two groups based on the types of Chitosan used. Respondents were examined and identified their teeth with periodontitis. Measurement of gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth was done three times, on days 1, 5 and 10. The different categories of gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth after treatment were then analyzed using Kruskall Wallis Test. The result showed differences in gingival bleeding and gingival pocket depth before and after application of Chitosan gel (p= 0.014, and 0.00, respectively).

Abstract

TITLEThe potency of chemical composition of purple sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L) as dental plaque identification agent on dental surfacesABSTRACTOn dental surface always been formed a transparent layer which firmly attached, known as dental plaque layer. Plaque on the tooth surface can be used as one indicator of oral hygiene. To determine the presence of plaque necessary dyes which can stain the surface of the plaque. Purple sweet potato has a natural dye that is anthocyanin. This study aims to determine the potential of the chemical content of purple sweet potato (ipomoea batatas l,) as the material identification of the presence of plaqueThis study research method was Experimental Research and Posttest Only Design as research approach. Sampling used with total Sampling methods and the number of respondents was 30 people. All respondents subjected twice treatment who gets purple sweet potato solution and hatching materials disclosing solution as a positive control at different times.Results showed  Purple sweet potato can be used as identification of the presence of plaque on the tooth surface and of the test statistic test Independent t test, obtained p <0.000 means there are differences of influence between the material of purple sweet potato with materials disclosing solution as the material identification of the presence of dental plaque. Further research is recommended in order to do the maximum staining on the surface of the plaque then seek to have the concentration of anthocyanin dyes are more concentrated. Keywords : purple sweet potato (ipomoea batatas l), identification ability, dental plaque

Abstract

TITLEThe etiology of rampant caries in pre-school children in TK Pertiwi Jembungan I BoyolaliABSTRACTBaby bottle caries is a dental disease that begins from a tooth and concerns the multi-surface and spreads rapidly to other teeth due to persistent exposure to factors of cause. This study aims to determine the factors that cause rampan caries in students TK Pertiwi Jembungan I Boyolali District.The type of this research is quantitative descriptive with case study research method. The data were collected by examination of caries trajectory, saliva pH and PHP-M index, and questionnaires for time and questionnaire variables based on Bloom's approach theory covering environmental factors, behavior, health service and heredity. Priority problem using odd ratio data analysis test result obtained that the most dominant cause factor is practice (OR value = 16,25), attitude (OR value = 15,00) and knowledge (OR value = 9,3).The results showed that salivary pH value of all respondents was acid (pH <7.0) and 57% of respondents had bad category plaque index value. Time factor showed 57% of respondents were bad category. 48% of respondents who have knowledge of bad category. 61% of respondents already have a good attitude. 100% of respondents did not brush their teeth before bedtime. 83% of respondents have a habit of brushing their teeth only when bathing. Health care factors, 100% of respondents have never treated dental cavities and have not received dental health education, 52% of respondents have fragile teeth and 26% of respondents have a dental structure of crowding. Abstract

TITLEThe effectiveness of chewing stringy and watery fruits against the quantity of Streptococcus mutans in children with special needsABSTRACTChildren who suffer from mental retardation associated with muscle coordination resulted in delays on the development of movement (motoric), speech, and limitations adjust to the environment. The disorder is also added to the difficulties of children to be able to maintain healthy teeth and mouth independently and are less active mouth muscles to get a good natural cleansing. The process of chewing fibrous foods will stimulate and increase saliva production. The apple is a fibrousfruit which can be obtained on the market. And apple has the ability to self-cleansing effect. This study aims to determine the effect of chewing an apple to the quantity of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in children with special needsThis type of research is descriptive. The method used in this study is a quasi experimental and design studies carried out by one group pretest and posttest. In this study, a sample calculation of the number of bacteria before and after chewing apples in saliva using Total Plate Count. Samples were 15 students from elementary classes I-VI mild mental retardation in special schools amounted foundation Widya Bhakti Semarang.The results showed statisticfrom  paired t-test that there are effective chew of fibrousand juicy fruit on the quantity of bacteria Streptococcus mutans in a special needs child, and from the analysis of the data showed a significant difference with the t value of 3,778 df (degrees of freedom) and p value = 0.002 (p <0.05). Keywords : fruit fibrous watery, streptococcus mutans quantity

Abstract

TITLESATISFACTION SURVEY ON ORAL HEALTH SERVICE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN (UKGS)ABSTRACTOral and dental health services for school children in addition to the main dental and oral health activities at the Puskesmas are also integrated in the form of the School Dental Health (UKGS) program. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of satisfaction of students, UKGS’s teachers, and parents to the efforts of UKGS which consists of services: health education, health service and healthy school environment at elementary school in Kedungmundu Semarang Public Health Centre working area.The quality of the UKGS service should be oriented to the needs of the client, in this case called the school community consisting of students, UKGS’s teachers and parents. Abstract

Background: Caries is the problems that were encountered in the field of dental health. Dental caries is an important issue for school student because it not only causes complaints of pain, but also spread the infection to other parts of the body resulting in declining productivity. This study aims to determine what factors are likely to influence the case of caries in elementary school student Padangsari II District Banyumanik 2016. Methods: This type of research used descriptive analysis with Cross sectional. Samples in this study were 50 students in grade 5 SDN Padasari II who have dental caries remains were taken with purposive sampling method. Collecting data in this study using clinical examination and the distribution of questionnaires. The questionnaire used in this study had previously been through validity and reliability test conducted on 35 students of SDN Meteseh District Tembalang. Methods of analysis used data using statistical calculations using Linear Logistic Regression Test. Results: The results in the region Padangsari II showed that the Plaque Index value exp (B) = 5,667, behavioral factors (knowledge exp (B) = 3.000, Attitude exp (B) = 3.000, factors action exp (B) = 2,333, salivary hydration exp (B) = 1,520, salivary viscosity exp (B) = 1,500, salivary pH exp (B) = 1.222. OHIS exp (B) = 1.143, the factor of health care exp (B) = 0,667, heredity exp (B) = 0.667, environmental factors exp ( B) = 0.429. Conclusion: In this study it can be concluded that the plaque index is the biggestt factor in influencing the cavity on the case if community health centers in the region Padangsari II.Because it has the highest score is exp (B) = 5,667.

Abstract

TITLETEACHER’S ROLE ON ORAL HEALTH PROMOTING SCHOOLABSTRACTChildren's dental and oral health is generally found to be in poor condition with the presence of plaques and other deposits on the surface of the teeth. Behavior that tends to ignore dental and oral hygiene is generally based on a lack of knowledge about dental and oral health and its maintenance. School student intervention is carried out with the aim that learning about hygiene and dental health can be carried out as early as possible to increase students' knowledge about the importance of maintaining health, especially dental and oral health. The teacher component is the best promoter in educational activities because they are familiar with the method of educating and motivating school students. This study aims to determine the role of teachers in efforts to promote dental and oral health in students at school.This research’s design is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The main informants in this study amounted to 3 people, consisting of UKS / UKGS Mentors teachers, while the triangulation informants in this study were 2 people, consisting of the vice principal and the UKS / UKGS supervisor from the Puskesmas.The results of the study indicate that UKGS activities, as a forum for promotion of dental and oral health of students in schools, are recommended for routine training for teachers to improve their knowledge and attitudes so that they can motivate teachers to actively take the initiative to develop various activities related to oral health promotion at school.

Abstract

TITLEParental and child satisfaction level to Irene’s donut innovative UKGS programABSTRACTUKSG innovative programs in kindergarten donut irene 's Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang has been going on for 4 years. Has not been evaluated clinically and parent satisfaction. Program evaluation is very important to be a benchmark for the success of this program in order to continue. The purpose of the research was evaluated the implementation of innovative programs UKGS irene 's a donut in the review aspects of parental satisfaction in kindergarten Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang.This research was a quantitative description of the cross-sectional approach. The subjects were 36 parents of students Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang. The level of parent satisfaction was measured with a questionnaire instrument.The results showed the level of satisfaction of parents satisfied categorized as 100 %. Parents expressed satisfaction on the service aspect that is easy and fast , and his son felt comfortable dental examination. The financial aspects are still some parents who are not satisfied. It is advisable for the school and implementing UKGS to keep improving dental care and socialization of students financing system based parent agreement. Key words : innovative UKGS irene 's donut, the level of parent satisfaction___________________________________
