Abstract

TITLETHE IMPACT OF PARENTS BEHAVIOR TO ORAL HYGIENE STATUS OF CHILDREN IN SDN 03 KARANGJATIABSTRACTHuman behavior is a result of all kinds of experiences as well as human interaction with the environment that materialized in the form of knowledge, attitudes and actions. The behavior of parents is very important to improve the oral hygiene of children and one of the efforts in the maintenance of oral health of children. The purpose of this study to determine the influence of parents' behavior toward the child dental hygiene level in SDN 03 Karangjati.This type of research is quantitative descriptive with method cross sectional. The population study was conducted on 03 fourth grade students Karangjati Semarang as many as 37 students. Sampling was done by total sampling. Gauges in this study were questionnaires, diagnostic sets, and sheet inspection. Data was analyzed by regression linear.The results showed that the level of hygiene of children's teeth are mostly in the moderate category and bad 26 people (70.3%), knowledge of parents in the poor category (54.1%), the attitude of the poor category (59.5%), actions of parents in either category (56.8%). test results obtained knowledge relationship with p.value = 0.001, attitude with p.value = 0.000, and act with p.value = 0.000, the test results influence the knowledge obtained by p.value = 0.748, attitude with p.value = 0.047, and act with p.value = 0.002. The conclusion is there is no relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice with the level of cleanliness of children's teeth. There is the influence of parental knowledge about dental hygiene of children. There is the influence attitudes and actions of parents on dental health children. Suggestions need for more participation for children to improve efforts to maintain dental hygiene and mouth that are in good condition. Keywords : Behavior of parents, a dental hygienist

Abstract

TITLEInhibitory effect of young-avocado leaf against oral bacteria (Streptococcus mutans)ABSTRACTDental caries is one of the oral health problems that can cause pain and disrupt the activities. Bacteria plays an important role in the process of dental caries. The main bacterial cause of dental caries is Streptococcus mutans producing the glucosyltransferase enzyme. Streptococcus mutans produces a sticky extracellular polysaccharides of carbohydrate foods and able to ferment carbohydrates to acids. Streptococcus viridans is bacteria in the mucosa that synthesize large polysaccharides like dextran and levans of sucrose that are important factor in the formation of dental caries.This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of avocado leaf extract concentration of 60% and 80% to the inhibition of the growth of Streptococcus mutans.Method used was the method of diffusion wells using 2 samples in each treatment group. Sample consisted of 3 treatment groups  avocado young leaf extract concentration of 60%, 80%. This research data analysis method using quantitative descriptive.The results showed that the leaf extract of avocado at all concentrations have antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. The lowest concentration of 60%,80% inhibition against the bacteria have a strong and increasingly stronger at higher concentrations. The conclusion of this study prove that avocado leaf extract has strong antibacterial activity against the growth of Streptococcus mutans. Key words : Avocado Young Leaf, Streptococcus Mutans

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the factors that influence caries process is saliva, among the food products that can enhance the acid product is milk. Salivary pH can be increased by the use of a solution of baking soda. Objective to determine differences in salivary pH between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda.Types of research using descriptive method with cross sectional approach, the research will be conducted by a quasi-experimental. The population is a fifth grade elementary school students Gedawang 02 Semarang as many as 28 people. All the population sampled, and then divided into two groups randomly, which consists of: the intervention group without baking soda as many as 14 people, and groups with baking soda mouthwash for 14 people. Quantitative analysis inferential statistical test independent t- test with 95% confidence level (α = 0.05).The results showed there were differences in the pH of saliva between milk drinking group with a solution of baking soda mouthwash and gargle solution without baking soda. The state of saliva pH children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda mouthwash on a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang with an average of 7.58. While no solution of baking soda rinse average 7.32 Conclusion salivary pH significantly different between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda in a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang, appropriate statistical test results independent t test with a value of (p value = 0.043), p value <a. It is recommended to the students to be able to choose an alternative material that can raise the salivary pH towards the base, one of which is by rinsing with a solution of baking soda concentration of 1%. Key words : salivary pH, Milk, Baking Soda Mouthwash Solution

TITLETHE PARENTS-DESIGNED PROGRAM TO SUPPORT TOOTH BRUSHING DURING 7, 21, 35 DAYS OF YOUNG CHILDREN IN PAUD PANDEGA SIWI, TLOGOSARI, PEDURUNGAN, SEMARANG CITYABSTRACTDental and oral health services are provided by looking at the needs of the target. For pre-school age (playgroup, kindergarten A, and kindergarten B) service more priority prevention and familiarize healthy life behavior. The maintenance of dental hygiene and gum especially brushing morning and night before going to bed as prevention of dental and oral disease is considered important at this age is to get good dental health quality in the future. The purpose of study is a change in the behavior of students PAUD Pandega Siwi in terms of ability to brush your teeth properly and correctly.Implementation of study is done in July - August 2017 with the target devotion is Childhood PAUD counted 41 and her parents. The pretest is the examination of tooth brushing behavior and the level of dental hygiene of children of early childhood. Intervention stage in the form of counseling on how to brush their teeth with the help of multimedia tools and demonstration using phantom on the students of PAUD and parents. Monitoring I (7th day), II (21st day) and 3rd (35th day) are Teacher's guidance to parents in the implementation of home toothbrushes at PAUD students. Posttest evaluation is done the same as in the initial examination.The results of the activity is a change in the level of dental hygiene of children PAUD Pandega Siwi and brushing behavior teeth. Brushing behavior changes in terms of previous toothbrushing technique back and forth to turn around. The conclusion is the parent's assistance in the home is very instrumental in improving the level of dental hygiene and brushing behavior. Key words : Toothbrushing assintance, PAUD Pandega Siwi

Abstract

TITLETHE CAUSAL FACTORS OF PERIAPICAL AND PULP DISEASE AMONG SENIOR COMMUNITY OF KAGOK COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER SEMARANGABSTRACTThe high rate of pulp disease and periapical tissue suffered most of the age group of 45-60 years as much as 34% in the elderly group. This study aims to determine the factors causing pulpal disease and periapical tissue in the elderly group at puskesmas Kagok.The sample in this study were 83 elderly people in Wonotingal subdistrict who had a history of cavities. The data were collected by index plaque, salivary hydration, Saliva pH, salivary viscosity and using a questionnaire to know behavior factor, environmental factor, health service factor and heredity factor.The results showed the highest index plaque with bad criterion equal to 57,8%, highest salivary hydration with low criterion equal to 49,3%, highest salivary pH with acid criteria equal to 66,2%, highest salivary viscosity with bad criterion equal to 73,4%. Factors are elderly behavior with medium criterion equal to 66,2%, medium criterion criteria are 63,8%, health service factor with medium criterion equal to 57,8% and descent factor with medium criterion 78,3%. The results of statistical tests show that the relationship between influence and variable variables affected by confusion interval with a value of R 0.303 which indicates the level of low relationship.

Abstract

TITLETHE FACTOR OF CAUSING RAMPANT CARIES IN THE KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS IN THE COASTAL AREAS WEDUNG, DEMAKABSTRACTBaby bottle caries is a dental disease that attacks the hard tissues of tooth that spreads rapidly and it’s common in primary teeth. This study aims to determine the factors that cause baby bottle caries in Budi Utami Kindergarten students in coastal areas of Berahan Wetan Village Wedung District Demak Regency 2016.This type of research is quantitative descriptive case study method. Data taken by direct examination of the baby bottle caries, the pH of saliva and plaque index PHP-M, as well as the provision of a questionnaire and a questionnaire based on the theory of H.L. Bloom approach which consist by environmental factors, behavior, health care and heredity. Priority issues using odd ratiotest data analysis showed that the practical factor (OR value=16,25), attitude factor  (OR value=15,00) and knowledge factor (OR value=9,3) are the most dominant causative factors to the baby bottle caries problem.The results showed that the salivary pH value all of respondents were in acid criteria (pH <7.0) and 57% respondents have a bad plaque index score categories. The time factor showed 57% of respondents are in the bad category. Knowledge factors, there are still 48% of respondents who are knowledgeable with the bad category. Attitude factors, as much as 61% of respondents already have a good attitude. Practices factors, 100% of respondents do not brush the teeth before going to bed at night and do not check their teeth regularly. Environmental factors, found 83% of respondents have the habit of toothbrushing only when having take a bath. Health services factors, 100% of respondents had never obtained the treatment of cavities and did not get dental health education. Heredity, found 52% of respondents have a fragile teeth and 26% of respondents have a crowding tooth structure. The alternative solutions to problems are by minimize baby bottle consumtion, cariogenic food dietary, brushing teeth together at school, topical application of fluoride or CPP-ACP, dental health education for students and school cadres training.

Abstract

TITLEThe relationship between concentration of mangosteen water stew as gargle and pH salivaABSTRACTCaries prevalence of people is 72.1%, with active caries prevalence of 46.5%. The incidence of dental caries due to the activity of microorganisms that leaven carbohydrates (substrate) to form acids that condition oral pH decreased to below 5. In order to maintain the pH of saliva can be done with traditional medicine, one of the mangosteen fruit. In the mangosteen fruit there is the content of alpha-mangostin and gamma-mangostin, which works as an anti-microbial. The study aims to determine the relationship between the concentration of the solution in boiling water to rinse the mangosteen fruit with changes in salivary pH.This type of research is a quasy experimental, with a design pretest-posttest design experiment. The subject of research conducted on the population that met the inclusion criteriawhich have no more than two carious tooth element and does not have gingivitis. The data analysis method is descriptive quantitative and correlation with Chi Square test.The results showed pH saliva in concentrations of 50%, before rinsing average salivary pH of 7.12 to 7.6. At a concentration of 75%, initial salivary pH was 7.2 and then changed to 8.0. Salivary pH changes after rinsing into acids derived from a concentration of 50%, whereas the increase tend to base is obtained from the concentration of 75%. The test results with the Chi square statistic obtained p.value = 0,142, and the interpretation was no relationship of the use of boiled water concentration of mangosteen to changes in salivary pH. Suggestions research results as a reference for the development of further research by conducting a more varied concentration of the solution formula to determine the right dose.  Key words : concentration mangosteen fruit stew

Abstract

TITLEInfluence of biography characteristic to UKGS III coverage by dental nurse in Semarang DistrictABSTRACTIn order to realize the development of health, one of which strived through the improvement of health care facilities. Health care facilities that are directly related to the community health center. Of its services by the health center, including prevention services via UKGS. UKGS coverage is still low, with the average number of new coaching first time visit to the elementary school in one year. This situation is still below the target of 2 times per year. Coverage SD UKGS fostered selective (stage III) reached 19.7%, still below the target of 30% of the elementary schools should be doing UKGS selective (stage III). The purpose of the study to know the effect of the characteristics of a biography of UKGS III coverage by the dental nurse inSemarangdistrict.Research carried out by the non-experimental design, the category of the type of quantitative research is descriptive and explanatory study. Subjects were the entire dental nurses working in health centers inSemarangdistrict as many as 35 people. Data analysis will be performed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyzes. Bivariate analysis done by correlation testChi Squarewith a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Ha accepted if the p value <0.05. Test the effect by using multiple logistic regression multivariate analysis with α = 0.05.The results of research on the scope UKGS III dental nurse in coaching UKBM, UKGS coverage either category III (51.4%), older age group of 19 people (54.3%), educational background dental nurse was found with SPRG categories (26, 7%). state of the working period at most dental nurse working group long term (14-28 years) of 54.3%. Results of correlation tests performed withChi Squarethere is one variable that is related: education p value = 0.005, and there are two variables that showed no association namely: age variable p value = 0.060. The test results showed the effect was no significant effect of the level of education of respondents to the coverage UKGS III in Semarang district by using multivariate logistic regression analysis obtained p value with OR = 0.017 (Exp B) = 15.11. In addition to the OR obtained (Exp B) = 15.11 can be interpreted that if there is a dental nurse who has a higher education tend to be achieved coverage UKGS III with both categories 15 times, rather than dental nurses in secondary education (SPRG). Advice to the Head of Puskesmas Semarang District Health Office to provide opportunities for dental nurses undertake further education. Abstract

TITLELobak stew (Raphanus sativus L) to dental plaqueABSTRACTStreptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus spp. and Candida albicans are the dominant microorganisms found in dental plaque, acidogenic and acidophilic in nature and have the ability to convert carbohydrate to acid. Plaque control is an effort to remove and prevent plaque buildup on tooth surfaces that can be done mechanically or chemically. Radish extract can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans in biofilm formation in vitro. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of stewed water rinse of radish (Raphanus sativus L) to the formation of dental plaque.This study is a quasi-experimental research with Pre-and Post-test Group design. The sample in this study is the students of grade V and VI SDN Kadirejo 03 Semarang regency, amounting to 34 students. The samples were divided into two groups, the first group was given 50% concentration of stewed waterof radish and the second group was given 100% concentration of stewed waterof radish each for 30 seconds followed by index plaque measurement by PHP (Personal Hygiene Performance) method. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical Independent t-test.The results showed that 100% concentration of stewed waterof radish can decrease the index plaque by 0.34 while 50% concentration of stewed waterof radish can decrease the index plaque by 0.28. But statistics show no difference of stewed water rinse of radish of 100% concentration and 50% concentration. From the research results can be recommended to conduct research by material extraction methods that do not damage the active substance of the material. Keywords : Stewed of radish (Raphanus sativus L), dental plaque

TITLEEducation with audio-visual and modeling methods to tooth brushing education in elementary school childrenABSTRACTThe maintenance of oral health as well as health coaching teeth, especially in children of school groups need special attention because at this age children are undergoing the process of growth and development. Previous dental state will affect the development of dental health in adulthood. Through training programs is expected to increase knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health and able to participate actively in increasing efforts to maintain self. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of extension methods and audio visual demonstration of the knowledge brushing teeth.This research uses descriptive quantitative method is a method of research conducted with the main objective to create a picture or a description of a situation in an objective that has to do with the problems examined. The instrument used was the questionnaire.From the results of the study conducted by researchers in the field to the students of class V and VI Elementary School Pedalangan 02 Semarang is known that after counseling with the demonstration of the results obtained knowledge of students of class V in both categories with a score of 7 and after counseling with audio visual results obtained knowledge graders VI enter both categories with a value 6.95. It can be concluded that the extension demonstration and extension with audio visual effective for use in improving the knowledge toothbrushing on elementary school children.Key words : Counseling method of demonstration and audio visual, knowledge of  brushing teeth
