The problem in this research was the improvement of writing skills through cooperative methods students team achievement division (STAD) in class VIII G SMPN 2  Negeri Katon Pesawaran the school year 2015/2016. This study aimed to analyze and describe (1) the processes and activities of learning to write instructions to do something with the methods of cooperative (STAD) and (2) an increase in skill of writing instructions to do something in class VIII G of SMPN 2 Negerikaton Pesawaran after following the learning process with cooperative learning methods (STAD). The results showed an increase and reached the target value of at least 75. The pre-aycle test results obtained the average value of 68.27 and the first cycle values obtained an average of 74.78. This means an increase of 6.51%. In the second cycle, values obtained an average of 83.56. This means an increase from the first cycle to the second cycle of 8.78%.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah peningkatan keterampilan menulis melalui metode kooperatif tipe student team achievement division (STAD) pada siswa kelas VIII G SMPN 2 Negeri Katon Pesawaran tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan (1) proses dan aktivitas  pembelajaran menulis petunjuk melakukan sesuatu dengan metode kooperatif tipe (STAD) dan (2) peningkatan keterampilan menulis petunjuk melakukan  sesuatu  pada siswa  kelas VIII G SMPN 2 Negerikaton Pesawaran setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode  kooperatif tipe (STAD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan dan mencapai target nilai minimal 75. Hasil tes prasiklus diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 68,27 dan pada siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 74,78. Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan sebesar 6,51%. Pada siklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 83,56. Hal ini berarti terjadi peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 8,78%.Kata Kunci: keterampilan menulis, siswa, metode kooperatif tipe (STAD).

The dynamics and identification of key factors affecting integrated and sustainable development of agriculture cluster area: The case of small-scale red onion horticulture farming in highland Solok District, West Sumatra, Indonesia

Sustainable development of small-scale horticulture farming is very much determined by how these farmings develop and organized into an integrated agriculture cluster area which aim at fulfilling human needs, equitable distribution of economic benefits, and participation of farmers and rural people in the dynamics of development.  Indonesia has adopted it as policy but with limited evidence of successful implementation because of ecosystem for  agriculture cluster area development not yet existed. Despite of the ecosystem not yet developed, small-scale farmers continue to manage their farming to support their livelihood.  In this context, there is a need to develop an alternative enabling framework based on understanding of the dynamics of horticulture farming. The objectives of this research are to understand the dynamics of the red onion horticulture farming, assessing key factors affecting farming management, and identify elements of framework for developing integrated small-scale red onion farming cluster area based on the key factors identified. A mix research method were applied: in-depth interview and survey. The results of the research indicated that the following key factors affecting the dynamics of small-scale red onion farming: (1) market, product distribution, and price fluctuation; (2) provision of agriculture extension services and consideration to use inputs; (3) existence and functionality of farmers’ group (organization); (4) source of capital and the used of financial service industry; (5) supports from government program; (6) infrastructures to support farming activities (in term of farms access road and water); (7) mutually beneficial synergy and partnership among the stakeholders; and (8) digital platform to facilitate interaction among stakeholders. These key factors would form the basis to develop alternative framework for integrated agriculture are development.
