Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the science process skills of students during the following lesson using active learning strategy with prediction guide type on learning physics and to assessing the impact of the application of active learning strategy with prediction guide type on physics learning outcomes of students in senior high school. This type of research is the study of √ā¬†experiments, research and determined using the method of purposive sampling area. This research was carried out in Senior High School Muhammadiyah 3 Jember. The respondents determined after research carried out a test of its homogeneity. Design research using the control-group post test only design. Data collection techniques are documented, observation, worksheet, interviews, tests, and portfolio. Data analysis techniques to answer the first problem is by using the observation sheet and portfolio of science process skills of students. Data analysis techniques to answer the second problem is use a t-test is using independent sample t test. Based on the results of the test t with the help of Independent-Sample T-test results obtained by the value of the sig. 0,009 < 0.05 Ho is rejected and Ha accepted, meaning that there is a significant difference between the results of learning physics students using active learning strategy with prediction guide type commonly used by the teacher. Learning activities of students during the following lesson by using active learning strategy with prediction guide type is good due to the large percentage on any gathering of between 75%-100%.
