ANALISIS PROSES DAN TINGKAT BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA SMP DALAM PEMECAHAN MASALAH BENTUK SOAL CERITA MATERI LINGKARAN DITINJAU DARI KECEMASAN MATEMATIKA

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to analyze the process and level of creative thinking of junior high school students based on mathematics anxiety’s students. The subjects of this research were taken by using purposive sampling. The Subjects of this research were six 9th grade students of SMP N 3 Colomadu Karanganyar regency. The data were collected by questionnaire and task-based interview technique and validated by using time triangulation. The data were analyzed by collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research were: (1) students with high mathematics anxiety had level 1 (almost not creative) and the processes were at preparation stage, students feel difficult to understand and identify the problem; at the incubation stage, students found the idea from picture’s observation; at illumination stage, students could not  make mathematics statement based on the problem enough; at verification stage, students read or counted again for investigating the answer and they could resume the result appropriate the reality of the problem, (2) students with medium mathematics anxiety had level 1 (almost not creative) and level 2 (quite creative), and the processes were at preparation stage, students could understand and identify the problem well; at the incubation stage, students found the idea from picture’s observation; at illumination stage, students could make mathematics statement based on the problem well; at verification stage, students counted again for investigating the answer and they could resume the result appropriate the reality of the problem, (3) students with low mathematics anxiety had level 2 (quite creative), and the processes were at preparation stage, students could understand and identify the problem so well; at the incubation stage, students found the idea from picture’s observation and from the knowledge before; at illumination stage, students could make mathematics statement based on the problem so well; at verification stage, students counted again for investigating the answer and they could resume the result appropriate the reality of the problem.Keywords: creative thinking processes; creative thinking level; word problem solving; mathematics anxiety.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran Experiential Learning berbantuan origami terhadap kemampuan keruangan siswa dengan kualifikasi keefektifan yang telah ditentukan. Populasi yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Sampel diambil secara simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Uji proporsi ketuntasan belajar menunjukkan siswa kelompok eksperimen telah mencapai ketuntasan belajar; (2) Uji perbedaan dua rata-rata menghasilkan simpulan bahwa rata-rata hasil post-test kemam-puan keruangan siswa kelompok eksperimen lebih dari kelompok kontrol; (3) Analisis re-gresi menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa memberikan pengaruh positif sebesar 49,3% terhadap kemampuan keruangan siswa; (4) Uji gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan keruangan siswa secara signifikan pada kategaori sedang untuk kelompok eksperimen dan kategori rendah untuk kelompok kontrol. Simpulan yang diperoleh yaitu Experiential Learning berbantuan origami efektif terhadap kemampuan keruangan siswa kelas VIII. AbstractThis experiment research aims to determine the effectiveness of Experiential Learning with Origami to the students’s spatial abilities by the criteria of effectiveness. The population of this research is students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu 2012/2013 academic year. Independent variables used in this research are learning by Experiential Learning with origami and student’s motivation. While the dependent variable is the student’s spatial abilities. This research is using documentation, spatial abilities’s test, dan motivation’s scale for collecting data method. Result of this research are: (1) proportion test show that the experiment group has reached mastering of learning clasically and personally; (2) result of spatial ablities’s post test in experiment group better than control group; (3) result of regretion shows that student’s motivation influence 49,3% to the students’s spatial abilities; and (4) the students’s spatial abilities at experiment group  increase in the middle categories, while  the students’s spatial abilities at control group  increase in the low categories. It be concluded that Experiential Learning with origami effective to the students’s spatial abilities. 

Efikasi diri mahasiswa pada perkuliahan kalkulus integral

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pofil efikasi diri mahasiswa pada perkuliahan Kalkulus Integral. Subjek penelitian adalah 43 mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik Industri Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta yang mengikuti perkuliahan Kalkulus Integral. Instrumen pengumpulan data terdiri dari angket efikasi diri serta pedoman wawancara. Subjek mengisi angket efikasi diri. Hasilnya adalah 2% mahasiswa memiliki efikasi diri sangat tinggi, 40% tinggi, 51% sedang,  7% memiliki efikasi diri rendah. Selanjutnya dipilih 6 mahasiswa, masing-masing 2 mahasiswa dengan efikasi diri tinggi, sedang, rendah untuk diwawancarai. Hasilnya yaitu mahasiswa dengan efikasi diri tinggi dan sedang tidak putus asa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan Kalkulus Integral, sedangkan mahasiswa dengan efikasi diri rendah putus asa saat menghadapi permasalahan tersebut. Mahasiswa dengan tingkat efikasi diri tinggi, sedang, dan rendah belum mampu mempelajari materi sulit Kalkulus Integral secara mandiri. Akan tetapi, mereka mampu menyelesaikan tugas dan mengumpulkannya tepat waktu. Usaha belajar mereka belum optimal dengan berbagai macam penyebab sehingga mereka tidak yakin mampu mencapai prestasi belajar yang ditargetkan, terkecuali dua mahasiswa dengan efikasi diri tinggi dan sedang. Self-efficacy of university student in integral calculus course AbstractThis qualitative research aimed to describe students’ self-efficacy profile on Integral Calculus course. The subjects were 43 students of Industrial Engineering Department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, who attended Integral Calculus course. The instruments used to data collecting were self-efficacy questionnaire and interview guidelines. The subjects were given self-efficacy questionnaire. The results showed that 2% of students had very high of self-efficacy, 40% high, 51% middle, the remaining 7% students had low self-efficacy. Six students were selected to be interviewed, consisted of 2 students with high, middle, and low self-efficacy. The interview results were students with high and middle self-efficacy were not give up to solve Integral Calculus problems, while students with low self-efficacy tend to desperate when solving the problems. Students with high, middle, and low self-efficacy levels had not been able to study the Integral Calculus difficult material independently. However, they were able to complete the task and collect it on time. Their learning efforts have not been optimal with a variety of causes so they were not confident for reaching optimum achievement, except two students with high and middle self efficacy level.
