Abstract

This study using soy milk (Glycine max (L) Merr) were tested on mice (Mus musculus) male Balb-C. Through the Anova test known that soy milk does not affect the reproductive organ weight and morfology of normal sperm. Soy milk only affect the epididymis, viability, and motility of sperm. The content of phytoestrogens contained in soy milk indicated disrupt hormonal communication system in the epididymis, causing disruption of functional sperm maturation process. So that the resulting lack of mature sperm functional and low-energy, which in turn affect the durability (viability), and the motility of sperm.Keywords: phytoestrogens, sperm quality

Abstract

The purpose of this development study is to develop research-based booklet for the identification of fiddler crab (Uca spp.) diversity. Some people do not yet know the ecological benefits of fiddler crabs. This is apparent when some people take fiddler crabs to serve as decorative crabs. The product specifications expected in the development of this medium are booklets. Therefore, it takes a companion learning media that can lead the local community to implement self-learning in the form of booklet because their interest of reading is very less, especially when reading a book that is colorless and has a lot of words. Booklet that is packed with interesting and accompanied by pictures is an alternative solution. The development method used in the research is Exploration, Explanation, and Evaluate (3E) model. The research was conducted by developing the research result into a booklet based on the diversity of fiddler crabs in mangrove ecosystem. The booklet validation consists of two lecturers from the Department of Biology Education at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang which is a material expert and learning media expert. The result of this research is booklet very valid with the percentage of material expert validity 81.25% and learning media expert 95.13%.

Abstract

Pembangunan ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) di Malang diperlukan sebagai penyeimbang emisi gas CO2 dari aktivitas penduduk dan konsumsi bahan bakar kendaraan yang semakin tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis luasan RTH dan kemampuan serap CO2 serta besarnya emisi CO2 yang dilepaskan oleh aktivitas respirasi dan penggunaan bahan bakar minyak. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis deskriptif kuantitatif. Area pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi Kota Malang, Kota Batu dan Kabupaten Malang. Metode deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan kondisi yang ada di area penelitian. Metode kuantitatif digunakan untuk  menentukan luasan dan kemampuan RTH  yang ada saat ini untuk menyerap CO2 dan besarnya CO2 yang dilepaskan. Total emisi gas CO2 yang dihasilkan sebesar 535.429 ton/tahun. Kebutuhan luas RTH berdasarkan jumlah emisi sebesar 9.139 ha dengan luasan area RTH yang tersedia saat ini sebesar 13,09 ha sehingga dibutuhkan 9.126 ha lahan tambahan untuk menyeimbangkan kebutuhan atas RTH.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir siswa perlu dikembangkan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi manfaat penerapan model pembelajaran PBL modifikas pada mata pelajaran biologi melalui kegiatan lesson study. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Malang dengan melibatkan terdiri atas siswa-siswi XI MIPA 10 sebagai subjek serta melibatkan empat guru dan empat dosen perguruan tinggi sebagai tim LS. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan bantuan instrumen lembar observasi pembelajaran serta lembar evaluasi guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran PBL modifikasi berbantuan media “sangkar hati” diindikasikan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan bertanya siswa, motivasi belajar siswa, serta mengatasi alokasi pembelajaran yang terbatas. Melalui studi ini, diharapkan pengimplementasian PBL maupun penerapan kegiatan LS dapat dibiasakan diselenggarakan di berbagai sekolah

Abstract

The use of antiseptics in wounds can cause long-term side effects. This study aims to determine the potential of mango leaves (Mangifera indica L) as a natural ingredient for healing wounds. This true experimental research used six treatment groups. This study used a completely randomized design of four repetitions using 24 samples of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) taken randomly. The results of the Anova statistical test showed that there was a difference in the effect of giving mango leaf extract to incisive wound healing. The results showed that a concentration of 20% showed a faster recovery time of 7.25 days with an average wound closure of 4.02 mm. This indicates that the extract of mango leaves has the potential to be used as a healing wound for the incision.
