Abstract

AbstractThe isolates have capability to degrade used engine oil was obtained from soil in the beach contaminatedwith used engine oil. One of the selected isolates TBC 1.2 was identified by its 16s rDNA as Acinetobacterjunii. The microorganism can use hydrocarbons in used engine oil as the sole carbon source and energy, alsoit significantly degraded almost all hydrocarbon compounds in used engine oil. With its ability Acinetobacterjunii TBC 1.2 has a potency to be utilized for bioremediation of soil polluted with used engine oil.Keywords : biodegradation, used engine oil, Acenitobacter junii TBC 1.2

Abstract

Mikroorganism has capability to degrade used engine oil was isolated from soil sample contaminated with used engine oil. One of the selected strain TCP C 2.1 was identified by 16s rDNA as Lycinibacillus sphaericus. The microorganism can use hydrocarbon in used engine oil as the sole carbon source and energy, also it significantly degraded almost all hydrocarbon compounds in used engine oil. With its ability the microorganism has potency to be used as a single microbe for bioremediation of soil polluted by engine oil.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan dan aktivitas mikroba di lingkungan minyak bumi dapat berdampak positif yang perlu dimanfaatkan, antara lain dalam pengolahan limbah minyak dan teknologi MEOR (microbial enhanced oil recovery). Metabolit yang dihasilkan tergantung pada komposisi nutrisi, jenis mikroba, dan kondisi lingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kemampuan air kelapa sebagai nutrisi untuk pertumbuhan mikroba minyak bumi. Percobaan dilakukan pada suhu uji 50oC dan dengan tiga variasi media M1, M2, M3, dan mikroba yang digunakan adalah campuran bakteri hasil isolasi dari Sumur 1. Parameter yang diuji adalah pertumbuhan mikroba, viskositas minyak bumi, tegangan antarmuka medium-minyak, dan derajat keasaman. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa penurunan tegangan antarmuka terbesar terjadi pada media M3 (85,66%), kemudian M2 (47,63%). Sedangkan untuk viskositas minyak bumi, dengan media M3 naik 23,06% dan media M2 turun 33,14%. Untuk media M1 tidak ada penurunan dari keduanya. Derajat keasaman untuk ketiga media masih dalam batas kisaran pertumbuhan mikroba. Dari hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa media M2 dan M3 mempunyai prospek untuk teknologi MEOR.
