Abstract

Thermoluminescence response of TLD CaSO4: Dy with a variation of the addition of SiO2 and PTFE materials has been observed. TLD CaSO4:Dy derived through co-precipitation method and then added by SiO2 and PTFE. Thermoluminescence intensity for CaSO4:Dy added by SiO2 obtained 9.41, 5.32; and 13.93 nC for the temperature at 400 °C, 600 °C and 700 °C. As for CaSO4:Dy with the addition of PTFE obtained 33.10;  336.89; and 1191.11 nC for the temperature at 400 oC temperature, 600 °C and 700 °C. Thermoluminscence intensity for CaSO4:Dy without the addition of SiO2 and PTFE at a temperature of 700 °C is 75.15 nC. There’s a significant increasing in the thermoluminescence intensity on CaSO4:Dy added by PTFE.

Abstract

Kata kunci : radioterapi, TLD-100, efek stokastik AbstractThe mapping of radiation dose rates using thermoluminescence dosimetre-100 (TLD-100) with Cobalt-60 radiation sources has been done at the Radiotherapy Installation Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang. This research purpose is to measure and analyze the radiation dose rate and to estimate the radiation dose effect. The data collected at 14 measuring points. TLD-100 were placed inside and outside the radiation room as well as at the radiotherapy installation workroom during  1 month. The results showed the radiation dose rate ranged from 0.21 to 1839.26 mSv per year. The radiation dose rate outside the radiation room ranged from 0.21 to 1.20 mSv per year. This radiation dose rate remained under the threshold dose of deterministic effects. The radiation effects accepted by workers and the public are stochastic effects. Abstract

Kata kunci : pocket dosemeter, TLD badge, TLD-100, NBD, efek stokastikABSTRACTThe research about radiation dose analysis of radiotherapist using pocket dosemeter, Thermoluminisence Dosemeter (TLD) badge and Thermoluminisence Dosemeter-100 (TLD-100) has been done in Radiotherapy Installation of Dr. M. Djamil Padang Public Hospital.  This research purpose to measure the radiation dose, to analyze the radiation dose based on BAPETEN rules number 3 on 2013, and to estimate the radiation effect on the radiotherapist.  The data have been taken from three radiotherapists on 4 points measurement.  Pocket dosemeter projected on gonad organ, TLD badge on chest organ, and TLD-100 on four points measurement covering the eyes, thyroid, chest and gonad organ.  The result of this research showed that the average radiation dose received by the radiotherapist using pocket dosimeter is 0,005 mSv per day, and TLD badge is 0,014 mSv per day.  In TLD-100, the radiotherapist’s radiation dose interval are from 0,000004 mSv to 0,00095 mSv per day.  The radiation dose is less than the NBD of BAPETEN rules number 3 on 2013, namely 20 mSv per year.  Based on measurements that have been done, it can be expected the occurrence of stochastic effects on the radiotherapist. Keywords : pocket dosemeter, TLD badge, TLD-100, NBD, stochastic effect
