Abstract

Gunung Leuser National Park Resort Tenggulun since 1998-2008 continues to plunder its standing in the way was converted into oil palm plantations. The area was damaged forest of 2,200 hectares / year. This study aims to protect and maintain the forest as a climate change mitigation efforts. The method to determine the location of the study using purposive sampling with squares method to determine the density of vegetation. Furthermore, the method of calculation of the carbon stocks stored calculated using allometric equations. From the results, the results of total forest biomass Gunung Leuser National Park Resort Tenggulun amounted to 330.998 tons / Ha. While the amount of carbon stored by 165.999 tons / Ha

Abstract

The research was conducted in January-September 2017 and will continue until December 2017 at Gunung Leuser National Park Resort Tenggulun, Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh Province. The method used to determine the vegetation density is purposive sampling by using a combination of line method and the method of with 20 m x 20 m. For determination of litter productivity by using Litter Trap method, and to analyze physical and chemical content of soil by laboratory test and calculate soil fauna density (biological factor) location determination by using line transect along 100 m, then on every line taken 10 point by method Systematic Sampling is systematically on the 3 (three) research sites that have been determined. Based on the research results for the highest density of tree vegetation found in plot 4 with the absolute density of 175 Ind/ ha this is in line with the highest litter productivity value also found at high density (plot 4) which is 14,5 gr/m2/week. Physical chemical factors are found in high density of air temperature 26 0C, humidity 80 %, soil temperature 25 0C, light intensity 118 Candella, soil pH 5.6, C-Organic 4.80 %, N-Total 0.55%, C/N of 4,24 %, P-Bray 23,03 ppm and K-tukar 0,41 Me/100.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Raya, Kecamatan Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara dan di Laboratorium Sistematika Hewan Depatermen Biologi, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan pada bulan januari - februari 2013. Penelitian dilakukan secara purposive random sampling dengan menggunakan metode kuadrat dan hand sorting. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 1 spesies famili Glocossicidae (P. corethrurus) dan 3 spesies famili Megascolidae (Amynthas sp., Megascolex sp. dan Pheretima sp.). Kepadatan cacing tanah pada pertanian organik (128,000 ind/m2) dan anorganik (73,600 ind/m2). Ada perbedaan komposisi komunitas cacing tanah pada lahan pertanian organik (Pheretima sp. 50,833%, P. corethrurus 40,000%, Amynthas sp. 7,500%, Megascolex sp. 1,667%) dan anorganik (P. corethrurus 49,275%, Pheretima sp. 46,377%, Amynthas sp. 4,384%). P. corethrurus dan Pheretima sp. merupakan jenis cacing tanah yang karakteristik pada lahan pertanian organik dan anorganik. Kata Kunci: Anorganik, Cacing Tanah, Kabupaten Karo, Komunitas dan Organik ABSTRACT This study had been done in Raya subdistrict, Berastagi district, Karo, Sumatera Utara in Animal Systematics Laboratory of Biology Department University of Sumatera Utara on January to February 2013. The sample for this study taken by purposive random sampling using the least squares and hand sorting method. The results of the research found that there were one family of Glocossicidae (namely species P. corethrurus) and 3 species of family Megascolidae (namely: Amynthas sp., Megascolex sp., and Pheretima sp.). The density of eartworm in organic farming was 128,000 ind/m2 and in inorganic one was 73,600 ind/m2. There were differences in community composition of earthworms on organic farms, they were Pheretima sp. 50,833%, P. corethrurus 40,000%, Amynthas sp. 7,500%, Megascolex sp. 1,667%, meanwhile, in inorganic farms were P. corethrurus 49,275%, Pheretima sp. 46,377%, Amynthas sp. 4,348%. P. corethrurus and Pheretima sp. were the characteristic of earthworms species in organic and inorganic agricultural land. Keywords: Community, Earthworms, Inorganic and Organic

Abstract

Spotted deer (Axis axis) is one of the component forming forest ecosystems? and has a very important role in the food chain cycle. However, excessive and uncontrolled use of deer by humans can result in a decline in the animal population in nature. One of the conservation efforts that can be done is by captivity (ex-situ conservation). This study was conducted to determine the daily activity of the spotted deer in captivity of the City Forest in Langsa Baro Subdistrict, Langsa City on 8 - 22 February 2018. Data on the daily activities of the spotted deer were obtained through direct observation using the animal sampling scan method for 15 days. The study found that eating was the highest daily activity, namely male 30,84%, female 32,84%, pregnant deer 34,17%, and young deer without horns were 29.08%. The highest activity time is at 08.30-10.30 and the lowest activity time is from 06.00-08.00.

Abstract

ncreasing garbage in Langsa City especially in Gampong Kuala Langsa will become a serious problem if not solved. On the one hand, the invention of this plastic has a tremendous positive effect, because plastic has advantages over other materials. Based on these analyzes, the community service activities need to be done with the aim of improving the economy of Langsa City, especially coastal communities. Based on the results of further evaluation also recorded, some of the practical benefits gained by mothers in the village of Kuala Langsa, that is they get clear and whole information about the essence of community empowerment in terms of knowledge and skills. Meaningful for created of new jobs that are innovative from development of home industry, mothers who participated in the training obtained a clear picture of the business climate development step by using waste of coffee wrap, trainees also get a clear and whole picture about the benefits of waste if managed properly. The next stage plan is Assistance to the processing of plastic waste into a product so as to obtain quality standard both quality and quantity of quality and product quality and evaluation program to see how far the program is beneficial for mothers in the village of Kuala Langsa.Keywords: Creative Product, Kuala Langsa, Plastic Waste.

Abstract

The level of income in the City of Aceh Province, especially in Gampong Meurandeh is still relatively low. One reason is the use of free time for non-productive housewives. The purpose of this activity is to improve the ability of housewives to produce high economic value products by utilizing their free time by utilizing available natural resources, one of which is bamboo plants to be able to increase the family's economic income. The method used in the implementation of the activities carried out jointly with the mothers in Gampong meurandeh Langsa Lama Subdistrict, Langsa City is by (1) Socialization, implementation, survey and assistance programme. The current activity has been completed and has produced the superior bipesticide product of the community of Meurandeh Village. The conclusions that can be obtained from the implementation of the program are (a) The high level of participation from the community service program partners has a positive impact on the implementation of the program, seen from training and assistance in making products, (b) The program is able to produce alamai biopesticides made from bamboo leaf nanosilica so that it can improve the economy of the community and the product is environmentally friendly so that it can maintain environmental sustainability. Suggestion, (c) The high interest and enthusiasm of the community in participating in the Community Service program is expected to get special attention, so the program will continue. Keywords: Nanosilica, Bamboo Leaves, Meurandeh Village
