PREDICTION OF DENGUE FEVER EPIDEMIC SPREADING USING DYNAMICS TRANSMISSION VECTOR MODEL

Abstract

Increasing number of dengue cases in Surabaya shows that its city has high potential of dengue fever epidemic. Although some policies were designed by Surabaya Health Department, such as fogging and mosquito’s nest eradication, but these efforts still out of target because of inaccurate predictions. Ineffectiveness eradication of dengue fever epidemic is caused by lack of information and knowledge on environmental conditions in Surabaya. Developing spread and prediction system to minimize dengue fever epidemic is necessary to be conducted immediately. Spread and prediction system can improve eradication and prevention accuracy. The transmission dynamics vector simulation will be used as an approach to draw a complex system of mosquito life cycle in which involve a lot of factors. Dynamics transmission model used to build model in mosquito model (oviposition rate and pre adult mosquito), infected and death cases in dengue fever. The model of mosquito and infected population can represent system. The output of this research is website of spread and prediction system of dengue fever epidemics to predict growth rate of Aedes Aegypti mosquito, infected, and death population because of dengue fever epidemics. The deviation of infected population is 0,519. The model of death cases in dengue fever is less precision with the deviation 1,229. Death cases model need improvement by adding some variables that influence to dengue fever death cases. Spread of dengue fever prediction will help the government, health department to decide the best policies in minimizing the spread of dengue fever epidemics.

Abstract

Abstract. In early age, it is generally asserted that all aspects of learners’ intelligence like IQ, EQ, and SQ grow and develop extraordinarily. At this age, young learners will only see a real thing holistically and able to understand the relationship among the concepts simply. In accord to this, the learning process should be fitted with their needs and level of proficiency. Besides, it should be directed to help them learn the concrete objects with their real life experiences. On the contrary, if the learning process is conducted separately, this means that the learners’ holistic thinking process is not well-developed and it makes them hard to learn optimally. The research revealed that the kindergarten learners who were taught thematically had better ability and readiness in joining the study than those who were not taught thematically. Based on the result, it could be justified that the learning process for young learners was more effective if it was managed integratively through a thematic approach.

Abstract

Teaching is not only changing ones behavior but more importantly it function to change the school curriculum on such a way that students can learn easily and optimally. It is essential to take an action to improve the students’ ability in math based on their own nature development, particularly in primary schools level. This can be gained by creating the students active participation and regarding their diversity of as conveyed by J. Bruner. In order to improve the quality of learning process, it is necessary to set up a convenience environment known as "discovery learning environment" that is an environment where learners can explore, invent new knowledge, or discover similar to those already known. There are three stages of learning according to J. Bruner, such as enactive, iconic and symbolic stages. The learning process will be gained optimally if the students are involved in enactive stage, and then if this phase of learning is well-achieved, students learn to switch to the second stage by employing the iconic representation mode. Lastly, learning activities are preceded to the third stage, which is the learning phase by using the mode of symbolic representation. By implementation those three learning objectives, it is expected that the process of learning mathematics can achieve the intended goals.ليس الهدف من التعليم التغيير في سلوك الطالب فحسب. بل التغيير في المنهج الدراسي كذلك، وهذا ليدرس الطالب أكثر وأسهل. المحاولات لتوفير الفرص للطلاب ليتقدموا سريعا وفقا بقدراته في المادة الخاصة ( خاصة في المرحلة الابتدائية) ، هذا بالاهتمام نحو اشتراكهم في التعليم والتعرف على خصائص الطلاب كما يقوله ج برونر. ولترقية عملية التعليم يحتاج المدرس إلى بيئة (Discovery learning environment ( وهي البيئة التي بها يستطيع الطالب توسيع معلوماته والقدرة على الابداعات أو المفاهيم المساوية لما هو معلوم لهم. وبالنظر إلى أن ثمة 3 مراحل في التعليم كما ذكره ج برونر هي إينكتيف و إيكونك و سيمبولك ، فعملية التعليم سينجح إذا بدئ بمرحلة إيكونيك ثمّ المرحلة الثانية وهكذا. وتطبيق هذه المراحل في العملية التعليمية خاصة مادة الرياضيات يرجى منه الحصول على الأهداف من التعليم.

Abstract

Artikel ini menguraikan prinsip-prinsip dasar pengembangan modul dengan pendekatan hypercontent. Berbeda dengan modul konvensional yang berlogika linier, prosedural, dan relatif kaku, modul berpendekatan hypercontent didesain menggunakan logika postmodern yang relatif non-linier, acak, dan fleksibel. Dengan demikian desain modul berpendekatan hypercontent memberikan kesempatan bagi penggunanya untuk mempelajari dari sisi mana saja sesuai kebutuhan belajar. Tidak diharuskan memulai dari materi yang berada pada urutan pertama. Pendekatan hypercontent mengarahkan desain modul diperkaya oleh sumber-sumber belajar di dunia maya. Caranya dengan membuat tautan ke laman website, saluran YouTube, dan lainnya melalui URL, QR code dan sejenisnya. Pendekatan hypercontent dipadukan dengan pendekatan technological, pedagogical, content-knowledge menjadikan substansi modul yang dikembangkan lengkap dilihat dari sisi kesesuaian dan kekayaan materi serta kesesuaian pendekatan pedagogiknya. This article describes the basic foundations of the module development using hypercontent approach. Different from the conventional one wich is more linier, procedural, and rigid, hypercontent approach module are developed under postmodern logic of thinking which is more non-linear, non-sequential, and flexible. Thus, hypercontent modul open an opportunity for the student to use it in non-sequential and non-procedural ways according to their own learning need wich are different from one another. In this case there is no obligation to start the learning process from the first chapter. Hypercontent module approach also enriched its content by lots of learning resources from the internet by creating linkages to several appropriates webpages, YouTube channels, and others via URL, QR code and etc. Hypercontent approach combined with technological, pedagogical, content-knowledge approach make the substance of the modul more complete in terms of its pedagogical appropriateness and rich in content material.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) has affected the educational practices including instructional process. In Indonesia, ICT has been benefitted for instructional purposes, one of them is social net Facebook. This research aimed at revealing how facebook can be used to improve the students’ learning achievement in the course of Innovation and Deffusion in Education (IDE) at The Curriculum and Educational Technology Departement, School of Education, State University of Jakarta. The research was conducted in the Even Semester of 2012 apllying survey method with all of IDE students as respondents. The data were collected and analyzed focusing on instructional design, prosess, and evaluation. The research findings concluded that facebook can facilitate learning to improve the students’ learning achievement.

Abstract

Teaching is principally based on pedagogi and andragogi. Pedagogi is normally used to teach young learners, while andragogi is used for adults. However in practice pedagogi which tends to transfer knowledge and make passive learning is often used for adults. This article discusses how andragogi can be used to make teaching human and how to humanize learners by using andragogi. It is believed that andragogi can create active learning in which the learners can meet their needs such as esteem and self actualization. Discussing humanistic andragogi from different views this article concludes its importance and advantages in life long learning and provides some suggestion how to carry out humanistic andragogi for active, creative,innovative and joyfull learning.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the perception of people towards Bridgestone tire. The type of research is quantitativewith survey method. The population is people who work, age 33-35 lives in Rawamangun, Pulogadung District,East Jakarta. The sample used is 45 with simple random sampling technique.Literatures in this research are studies about, communication, marketing and perception with the SOR theory asframe of mind. Data is gathered by questionnaire which used Likert scale. Analysis technique used to know theaverage perception is mean.The result of this research is that people perception towards Bridgestone tire is good (mean=3,84)
