Abstract

Teknologi transplantasi karang (coral transplantation) merupakan suatu upaya rehabilitasi melalui pencangkokan atau pemotongan karang hidup untuk ditanam di tempat lain yang mengalami kerusakan.Transplantasi dapat mempercepat regenerasi terumbu karang rusak dan untuk membangun daerah yang sebelumnya belum terdapat terumbu karang. Kegiatan transplantasi dilaksanakan di perairan Teluk Camban, menggunakan metode yang relatif mudah dan tingkat efesiensinya tinggi sehingga lebih efektif dalam proses pembuatan dan aplikasinya. Kegiatan ini menggunakan media kerangka besi. Kerangka besi digunakan sebagai tempat diikatkannya fragmen yang akan ditransplantasikan. Transplantasi karang di Teluk Camban menghasilkan luaran berupa ikan dan terumbu karang. Monitoring transplantasi karang menunjukkan pertumbuhan fragmen karang yang baik. Pertumbuhan fragmen karang per bulan sebesar ± 0.6 cm dan dengan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 35%.

Abstract

Corrected bathimetry data is highly required to improve the quality of sea floor map, for a range of purposes including coastal environmental monitoring and management. This research was aimed to know chart datum values used for correctting bathymetry data at Bar-cheeked coral trout grouper (Plectropomus maculates) fishing ground in Lepar and Pongok Island waters 02o57’00”S and 106o50’00”E and 02o53’00”S and 107o03’00”E, respectively, South Bangka Regency, Indonesia. The study was carried out from November 2016 to October 2017, tidal data used for 15 days from September 16–30, 2017 using simple random sampling technique with the total of 845 points of measurements. To calculate tyde harmonic constituents values this study employed admiralty method resulting 10 major components. Results of this research indicated that harmonic coefficient values of M2, M2, S2, N2, K1, O1, M4, MS4, K2, and P1, were 0.0345 m, 0.0608 m, 0.0276 m, 0.4262 m, 0.2060 m, 0.0119 m, 0.0082 m, 0.0164 m, and 0.1406 m, respectively. Values of mean sea level, chart datum, and F, were 0.9620 m, 0.0500 m, and 0.0664 m, respectively, with diurnal type (F= 6.64). Correcting bathymetry values of surveyed location results a deviation about 1.2 m in depth. The calculated chart datum as well as corrected bathymetry provides information that can be used as vertical refrerence datum for generating sea floor map for determining the fishing ground area of bar-cheeked coral trout grouper. Fishing depth usually ranges between 4.2 and 40.8 m. Average water depth in the fishing ground ranged from 14.7 to 22.5 m.

Abstract

Tide phenomenon is one of oceanography parameter that important to capture fisheries or marine culture. This research has been work contains 15 piantan high of sea level from tide harmonics constanta, such as type of tide, mean sea level, chart datum, and tidal range. Type of tide is mixing semidiurnal, MSL is 73,36 cm, Chart Datum -104,29 cm from MSL, and tidal range 48,14 cm.

Abstract

The research takes 6 stations based on point of compass in the water of Karampuang Island – West Sulawesi Province. The goal of this research is to know feasibility area sight from oceanography physics and chemics for marine culture of seaweed with rope in upper water, floating nets of kerapu fish, sea cucumber and abalone marine culture. Analysis method of feasibility area with the quality for a piece of biophysics parameter is measured not only for supporting factor but also breaking factor for marine culture. The research of feasibility by calculating the total score from all parameters measured in situ with feasibility criteria that the feasibility area is very, enough, and not properly. The seaweed marine culure with with rope in upper water is very proper to develop into the six stations of research, kerapu fish at the station 1,2,3,5 and 6. Sea cucumber at the station 1,2,3, and 4. Pearl Oyster is very proper at the station 1 and 2 and others shows that they are only proper enough with marine culture because of the marine limited factor is bigger than supporting factors

Abstract

Kegiatan simulasi pengelolaan perikanan berkelanjutan di TWP Padaido sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat nelayan akan pentingnya nilai-nilai konservasi. Simulasi ini diarahkan untuk menemukenali kearifan lokal serta memberikan wawasan kepada masyarakat nelayan tentang pentingnya daerah perlindungan laut (DPL) di lokasi terumbu karang dan lokasi penangkapan alternatif, pembatasan jumlah tangkapan dan ukuran ikan, pembatasan jumlah alat tangkap dan ukuran mata jaring, serta penguatan kelembagaan dengan unsur 3 tungku. Kegiatan simulasi ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sasari serta dapat dipraktekan wilayah lain di Indonesia dengan memperhatikan kondisi sosial masyarakat setempat dan pola-pola pemanfaatan sumberdaya yang sudah berlangsung

Abstract

Coastal areas (especially small islands) are vulnerable to impact from sea level rise (SLR). The submergence of areas that are economic centers will impactin huge losses. To avoid such losses it is necessary to manage small islands by using temporal spatial models. The aim of this article is to describe the development of a temporal spatial model to assess the vulnerability of settlements in small islands. The method used is dynamic system modeling combined with Geographic Information System (GIS) based on identification of environmental issues and conditions in small island, in this case Karimunjawa Island and Kemujan Island, Jepara Regency. The assumption used in the modeling is that there is no natural disaster or calamity that reduces the population, the death is considered normal death by referring to the average life expectancy of the Indonesian population (69 years), no coastal reclamation activities, no significant changes in ecosystem. The modeling results indicate that if the fraction of SLR 10 cm per year, will have an impact on the decreasing availability of settlement land. The height of SLR ranges from 0,5 meters in the 10th year, to 5,0 meters in the 100th year. As a result there will be puddle in the residential area of ​​13,02 ha in the 10th year and in the 100th year to 226,5 ha. Required environmental engineering efforts,such as develop coastal dike and reform plan of building, to reduce impact on the availability of settlement land. SLR that is affecting populations and settlements on Karimunjawa and Kemujan Island, require adaptation as an impact mitigation effort. Wilayah pesisir (terutama pulau kecil) sangat rentan terkena dampak dari peningkatan muka air laut. Terendamnya wilayah-wilayah yang merupakan sentra ekonomi akan mengakibatkan kerugian yang sangat besar. Untuk menghindari kerugian tersebut perlu pengelolaan pulau-pulau kecil dengan memanfaatkan model spasial dinamik/temporal. Tujuan studi adalah mengembangkan model spasial dinamik/temporal untuk mengkaji kerentanan permukiman penduduk di pulau-pulau kecil. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemodelan sistem dinamik/temporal (SD) dipadukan dengan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) berdasarkan identifikasi isu dan kondisi lingkungan di pulau kecil, yaitu Pulau Karimunjawa dan Pulau Kemujan, Kabupaten Jepara. Data yang digunakan adalah data pertumbuhan penduduk (data sekunder) dan peta dasar Pulau Karimunjawa dan Kemujan. Asumsi yang digunakan pada pemodelan adalah tidak terjadi bencana alam atau musibah yang mengurangi jumlah penduduk, kematian dianggap sebagai kematian normal dengan mengacu umur rata-rata harapan hidup penduduk Indonesia (69 tahun), tidak ada kegiatan reklamasi pantai, tidak ada perubahan ekosistem secara signifikan. Pemodelan spasial dinamik/temporal mengikuti tahapan sesuai dengan prosedur pemodelan. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan bahwa bila fraksi sea level rise (SLR) 10 cm per tahun, akan berdampak pada penurunan ketersediaan lahan permukiman. Tinggi kenaikan muka air laut berkisar antara 0,5 meter pada tahun ke-10, hingga mencapai ketinggian kenaikan 5,0 meter pada tahun ke-100. Akibatnya akan terjadi genangan air laut di permukiman penduduk seluas 13,02 ha pada tahun ke-10  danpada tahun ke-100 menjadi 226,5 ha. Diperlukan upaya rekayasa lingkungan, seperti membangun tanggul pantai dan memperbaiki rancangan konstruksi bangunan permukiman, agar dapat mengurangi dampak terhadap ketersediaan lahan permukiman. Kenaikan muka air laut yang berdampak terhadap penduduk dan permukiman di Pulau Karimunjawa dan Kemujan membutuhkan adanya adaptasi sebagai upaya mitigasi dampak.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the content of Pb and Cd in sediments in the river Pakil, Bangka, analyze the content of TOC and texture characteristics of sediments and fine sediment menganallisis relationship with heavy metals, as well as analyze the relationship between TOC with heavy metals. The experiment was conducted in April in Pakil River. Sampling in this research field as muchthree stations and three repetitions. Results of measurement of heavy metals in sediment Pb with an average range of 3.96 to 12.26 mg / kg. The measurement results Cd heavy metal content in the sediment with average range <.0004 to 0.53 mg / kg. Pb heavy metal content in the above mentioned stations have not passed the quality standard limits, for heavy metals Cd (Station 1) has passed the quality standard threshold based on the quality standards according to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA, 2000).The results of the correlation between heavy metals Pb with Sediment Texture positive correlation with R ² value of 0.5021, the correlation between the heavy metals Cd in Sediment Texture positive correlation with R² value of 0.7154. Correlation between heavy metals Pb with TOC in sediments positive correlation with R ² value of 0.9764, the correlation between heavy metals Pb with TOC in sediments positive correlation with R² value of 0.9956.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengupas mengenai perolehan data terumbu karang di Pulau Ketawai dari hasil analisis citra satelit Aster, survey line intercept transect (LIT), studi literature, wawancara, dan analisis kondisi terumbu karang berdasarkan Kepmen LH No.4 tahun 2001 tentang Kriteria Baku Kerusakan Terumbu Karang. Evaluasi kondisi terumbu karang pada bagian timur pulau dinyatakan BAIK (Baik) dan dapat direkomendasikan untuk lokasi wisata diving, pada bagian selatan dan utara pulau dinyatakan BAIK (Baik) dan RUSAK (Sedang) dan dapat direkomendasikan untuk lokasi calon zona inti daerah perlindungan laut, sedangkan pada bagian barat pulau dinyatakan RUSAK (Sedang) dan dapat direkomendasikan untuk lokasi rehabilitasi ekosistem terumbu karang. Ancaman terhadap kesehatan terumbu karang di Pulau Ketawai terutama bersumber dari kegiatan antropogenik sehingga perlu menerapkan pendekatan ekosistem untuk pengelolaan perikanan berkelanjutan dan melaksanakan daerah perlindungan laut secara efektif. Kata kunci: terumbu karang, Ketawai, ekosistem, pengelolaan, LIT

Abstract

Floating Net Cage (FNC) system were applied to mariculture of groupers (Family Serranidae) in marine waters of Pongok Island, Regency of South Bangka. The economic carrying capacity of the system have been evaluated based on R/C, NPV, PP, and IRR analysis. The result revealed that FNC system still gives a big opportunity as an alternative income for the local residents since it provides a multiplier effect to 127 households in the basic of symbiotic mutualism. Area suitability for grouper mariculture in Regency of South Bangka estimated only used about 0,5% of waters which provides the economic advantage for 127 households, or about 4,3% of 2.959 fishermen in the District of Lepar Pongok. Economic carrying capacity proved to be positively correlated with social carrying capacity to move the economy in the small island with reef fishery resources like Pongok Island. The government policies needed in order to support the FNC system as an economic prime mover in the coastal area or small island with potential reef fishery like in Pongok Island

Abstract

Social mapping of coastal communities in TWP Padaido was expected to provide a preliminary picture of the living conditions of the communities in coral reef management priorities location of COREMAP program. This study seeks to collect informations mainly from the focus group discussion (FGDs) and the study of literature both in Biak Numfor and Jakarta. The findings showed that “the three furnace system” e.g. the role of traditional leaders, churches, and government agencies are very dominant in influencing fisheries management rules. In TWP Padaido, the government through the program COREMAP primarily involved in providing policy support for implementing local regulations. In general, traditional systems have a positive impact on society such as sasi. This system can avoid disputes in the resources uses and provide a better incomes for fishermen in TWP Padaido.
