Abstract

This study is aimed to find out the composition, structure, and the ecological value of the types of trees in the exploitation zone of the National Wasur Park. The method used was square method, documentation, and literary study. Type variety index of Shannon-Wiener was employed to determine the variety types of the trees. The result of the research and data analysis showed that at the big tree category there were 16 types, 8 families, and 76 individuals. Meanwhile, at the small tree category, there were 12 types, 8 families, and 71 individuals. Analyzing the height structure, it was found out that Lophostemon lactifluus (F. Muell) Peter G. Wilson & J.T. Waterh (INP 54.74%) was the highest INP at the big tree category. Meanwhile, at the small tree category, the highest INP was Planchonia careya (F. Muell) R. Knuth (INP 68.82%). Therefore, the vegetation in the exploitation zone was considered as the Lophostemon lactifluus (F. Muell) Peter G. Wilson & J.T. Waterh and Planchonia careya (F. Muell) R. Knuth. The type variety index (H’) at the big tree and the small tree category were 2.43 and 2.9 respectively. These indexes were considered low. The ecological values of the forest were as the water diffusion area, system prop of life, and habitat of some animals such as various insect types, mammals and birds. Abstract

Abstract

The Research objective is  to evaluate wheat growth by  several plants density and   combination of inorganic nitrogen and compost nitrogen. The research was conducted in Sirapu Village, SemanggaDistrict, at Merauke Regency and used Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 blocks replication. Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical content of biomass and compost of the aquatic plants (Pistia stratiotes L.) at the Wasur village, Merauke. Benefits to be gained by the study is obtaining information about the content of the proximate and organic matter of Pistia plants at the Wasur village, so the function can be optimized. The results of chemical content of biomass and compost Pistia showed that plants have the potential to be used as feed additives for monogastric livestock, especially cattle as well as additional materials for composting.

Abstract

Objective of the experiment to evaluate wheat growth of some plant density and the proportionof inorganic nitrogen and compost nitrogen.The research was conducted in the Sirapu Village, Semangga District, Merauke Regency using Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 blocks as replication. The first factor was plant density of three level, i.e., 25 cm x 10 cm, 25 cm x 15 cm, 25 cm x 20 cm.The second factor was proportion of inorganic nitrogen and compost nitrogen consists of six levels, i.e., compost 0% + urea 0%, 0% compost + 100% urea, 25% compost +75% urea, 50% compost + 50% urea, 75% compost + 25% urea, 100%compost + 0%.The experiment results showed that there was interaction between plant density and the proportion of inorganic nitrogen and compost nitrogen for plant dry weigh and crop growth rate parameters.Plant density in 25 cm x 15 cm and proportion of inorganic nitrogen and compost nitrogen in 25% compost +75% urea showed the best effect in plant dry weight and crop growth rate at 42 to 63 DAP.

Abstract

Forage availability become a major issue in the provision of feed, especially during the dry season. The purpose of this study is to identify the type of vegetation in the grazing fields that have been used by people in the village of Sota. The data were taken from the area around the used rice field in the village of Sota. The forage classified as grass, legume and forbs. The method applied in the research by observing the botanical composition there at several observation points. The forage was taken as the sample, then calculated the production and analyzed the content of dry material. The results showed that the vegetation found in the used rice fields in the village of Sota, there are 33 vegetation, consisting of legume, grass and forbs 3, 61 and 36%. Vegetation types most commonly found are Fimbristylis genus, Paspalum and species of Calopogonium mucunoides the SDR value of 9.88; 9.3 and 9.74%. Abstract

Untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk kacang tanah, ke depan perlu dilakukan  kegiatan  pasca  panen  berupa  pengolahan  kacang  tanah  menjadi berbagai produk, misalnya kacang telor, kacang atom, enting-enting, dan produk lain. Namun langkah awal yang perlu ditangani adalah bagaimana agar proses pengupasan kacang tanah yang dilakukan para petani lebih mudah dan efisien, apabila proses pengupasan dapat dilakukan dengan mesin maka produktivitas petani kacang tanah akan meningkat. Perhitungan dan analisa pembuatan alat ini menggunakan perhitungan perencanaan elemen mesin serta analisa teoritis dan rancang bangun permesinan. Spesifikasi pembuatan rancang bangun alat pengupas kacang tanah berfungsi sebagai pemipil, penyiliran dari kotoran, sekaligus sebagai pemilah antara kacang tanah yang masih utuh dengan yang pecah sehingga dapat diperoleh hasil pemipilan yang sudah bersih dan terpisah – pisahkan. System   kerja dari alat pengupas kacang tanah ini yaitu dengan prinsip tekanan dan gesekan   pada roda penggiling dengan landasan pengupas. roda penggiling tersebut dilapisi karet  (rubber Roll) agar kacang tanah tidak mudah pecah. Setelah proses pemipilan, dilanjutkan dengan proses penyiliran dan  proses pengayakan untuk memisahkan butiran kacang tanah yang utuh dengan butiran yang pecah. Conservation of Soil Moisture Using Mulch of Green Bean Plants (Vigna Radiata)

Abstract

The aim to this study was to determine the effect of plastic silver mulch and rice straw mulch on soil moisture conservation of green bean so that the plant can grow in dry season with enough water. The method used in this study was a randomized block design with three treatments: no mulch (T0), plastic silver mulch (T1) and rice straw mulch (T2). The parameters observed were physical soil of initial and final research, soil moisture measurements every 3 days, as well as growth and crop production parameters including plant height, number of seeds in pods, 100 seeds weight, sample plant production and total production. The results showed that the physical of soil analyzed were clay textured soil, preliminary porosity 60.77 and at the end of the study increased to 77.50%, organic matter 1.52%, initial bulk density 1.04 g/cm3 at the end of the study decreased to 0.60 g/cm3, soil permeability of 7.77 cm / hour and available water is 13.95%. The use of rice straw mulch from the beginning to the end of the study showed the best water content while the use of plastic silver mulch and no mulch showed water content not much different. The use of palstic silver mulch gives the highest yield of the best crops on 14 HST measurements where the plastic silver mulch differs markedly by the rice straw mulch and no mulch. The yield of green beans produced in the treatment of plastic silver mulch using the best results with a total production of 2.00 tons/ha, this result is significantly different from no mulch but not significantly different of rice straw mulch. Rice straw mulch is better used for soil conservation because it can improve soil aeration, retain water, prevent soil erosion, and increase organic matter on the soil.
