Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of the guided-invention method viewed by students understanding of mathematical concepts. The design which was used was post-test only control design with the population was all students of grade eight of SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/ 2015 and the samples were students of VIII-G and VIII-H class that were chosen by purposive random sampling. The data of understanding of mathematical concepts were obtained by essay test. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that the implementation of the guided-invention method was effective viewed by students understanding of mathematical concepts.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode penemuan terbimbing ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah post-test only control design dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 10 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 dan sampel adalah siswa kelas VIII-Gdan VIII-H yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data pemahaman konsep matematis siswa diperoleh dari tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode penemuan terbimbing efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep, penemuan terbimbing
