Abstract

This study aimed at formulating the strategy proposed to the District Agency of Tourism and Culture of Central Lombok to increase tourist visits. This research is using a qualitative approach within case studies adopted from the research manual. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. Two informants were selected from the Agency of Tourism and Culture of Central Lombok; namely the Head of Agency and the Field Head of Marketing and Promotion. The research showed that the findings obtained from the analysis using SWOT and data reduction, the tourism in the south coast of Central Lombok has good strength and opportunity. The research recommends that in increasing numbers tourist visits the Agency of Tourism and Culture of Central Lombok conduct four better strategies namely future integration, market penetration, concentric diversification, and product development. Since there were still problems in Human Resource, the Agency of Tourism and Culture of Central Lombok should pay more attention to human resources by developing human resource products.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan usulan strategi bagi Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Lombok Tengah untuk meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi kasus yang diadopsi dari manual penelitian. Informan dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Dua informan dipilih dari Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Lombok Tengah yaitu Kepala Dinas dan Kepala Bidang Pemasaran dan Promosi. Dari temuan penelitian yang telah dianalisa menggunakan alat analisis SWOT kemudian melakukan reduksi data, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, pariwisata di kawasan pantai selatan Lombok Tengah memiliki kekuatan dan peluang yang cukup besar, dan penelitian merekomendasikan dalam usaha meningkatkan angka kunjungan wisatawan, Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Lombok Tengah sebaiknya melakukan empat strategi yaitu Integrasi ke depan, Penetrasi pasar, Diversifikasi Konsentrik, dan Pengembangan Produk. Karena masih terdapat masalah pada SDM, Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Lombok Tengah harus memberi perhatian lebih terhadap sumber daya manusia dengan melakukan pengembangan produk SDM.Keywords : SWOT Analysis, Strategy Formulation, Strategic management, Tourism

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the modifier factors of the Australian, France and Indonesian (Nusantara) tourist hope toward Lombok Island, and explain the relation between cultural background of each group according to Hofstede theory and the modifier factors. Method that used in this research was descriptive method with the sample survey approach. Sample for each group was 50 persons. The data were analyzed by descriptive analyze and statistic analyze by using factor analyze. The result shown the Australian with have individualistic culture background was forming the hope dominated by past experience, the France tourist, with uncertainty avoidance culture background, was forming their hope by collecting external information, while Indonesian with their collectivities culture tend to form their hope base on word of mouth. The difference of hope modifier in each tourist group became important thing to payed by the tourist executants to determine the tourism marketing strategy in the future.  Keywords : Hope, Hofstede Culture, Past Experience, External Information, Destination Image, Word of Mouth

Abstract

This research aim is to get a depth understanding to the potential of difference in shopping style related to the culture orientation to avoid uncertainty in the tourist group. This research was conducted in three tourist sites, namely: Senggigi Beach, Gili Terawangan, and Kuta Beach. With Manova analysis known that tourists who have high uncertainty avoidance orientation tend to have decision-making style that prioritizes; quality, value, well-known brand, loyal to the brand, and confusion because of the many options. While at Travelers who have low uncertainty avoidance orientation tend to have a decision-making style that characterized expenditure: fashion consciousness, orientation recreational, and impulsive. By knowing the relationship between uncertainty avoidance cultural orientation and style tourist spending will bring enormous benefits to the tourism industry and government in promoting the activities of tourist spending, especially for the domestic market segment. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap potensi perbedaan gaya belanja yang terkait dengan orientasi budaya untuk menghindari ketidakpastian dalam kelompok wisatawan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga lokasi wisata, yaitu : senggigi beach, termasuk gili terawangan dan pantai kuta. Dengan analisis manova tahu bahwa wisatawan yang memiliki ketidakpastian tinggi penghindaran orientasi cenderung memiliki gaya pengambilan keputusan yang mengutamakan; kualitas, nilai, merek terkenal, setia kepada merek dan kebingungan karena banyaknya pilihan. Sementara pada wisatawan yang memiliki orientasi penghindaran ketidakpastian rendah cenderung memiliki keputusan-membuat gaya yang dicirikan pengeluaran : Mode kesadaran, orientasi rekreasi dan impulsif. Dengan mengetahui hubungan antara ketidakpastian penghindaran budaya orientasi dan gaya pengeluaran wisata akan membawa manfaat besar bagi industri pariwisata dan pemerintah dalam mempromosikan kegiatan wisata belanja, terutama untuk pasar domestik segmen.Keywords :Shopping style, uncertainty avoidance, domestic travelers

Abstract

Abstract

Despite the important roleof local entrepreneurs for sustainable tourism, the process of starting up small tourism enterprises remains unclear. The current study is aimed at constructing a start-up model of small tourism enteprise, particularly homestay.Qualitative method was adopted. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentary. Interviews were made with 6 homestay owners in three tourist destinations in West Lombok Regency. Data was recorded and then analysed using content analysis. The study constructs a start-up model consisting of two phases, orientation and starting phases. The orientation phase elaborates the process of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, business capital preparation, and  starting preparation. The starting phase describestrial and error process regarding product creation, resource allocations, finance management, and marketing strategies. In the starting phase entrepreneurs have todeal with business competition and business uncertainties. The succes in undertaking the starting phase can lead an entrepreneur into a further business development. But,the fail in going through the starting phase can lead into bankruptcy and/or the situation in which the entrepreneurs have to re-start their business again from the beginning. The study results provide reference for community empowerment, bring theoretical and managerial impacts, and create gap for a further research. Abstract

Understanding community behavior related to the impact of tourism as well as the consequences of these impacts is an important matter to be studied in the effort to develop tourism in the future. The purpose of this study is to analyze the positive impact of tourism felt by residents in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone which can affect their life satisfaction and the willingness of the population to create co-creation values with tourists. The results showed that the positive effects of tourism activities and life satisfaction significantly affected the value of Co Creation, but the positive impact of tourism had a not significant effect on life satisfaction. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of theory, especially tourism marketing from the perspective of local residents. In addition, it can be used as a basis for consideration of policy makers in the development and marketing of tourism in the Mandalika Special Economic area.Keywords : Positive tourism impacts, life satisfaction, co-creation value, Mandalika SEZ
