Abstract

ABSTRACTThe present study aimed to analyze the association between body fatness measures, i.e. body mass index (BMI) and percent fat mass (% FM) with cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in young adults. Seventy five undergraduate students aged 19-21 years were included in this cross sectional study. Body composition was assessed by tetra polar Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis method, and CRF was determined as VO2 max level by conducting Balke test and flexibility by sit-and-reach test. Regression tests were performed to assess the associations between the body fatness measures and CRF. The mean (SD) % FM and BMI were 25.6 (8.3) % and 22.4 (4.2) kg/m2, respectively. Both BMI and % FM were inversely associated with VO2 max and flexibility. The associations of % FM with each CRF measure were stronger (% FM-VO2 max: R2=0.45, p<0.0001; % FM-flexibility: R2=0.16, p<0.0001) than those of BMI (BMI-VO2 max: R2= 0.12, p=0.002; BMI-flexibility: R2=0.07, p<0.0001). Including gender as a variable predictor greatly improved almost all associations. We suggest that %FM is a better predictor for VO2max than BMI. Further studies are needed to elucidate the relationships of body fatness measures adjusted for potential confounding factors with CRF measures other than VO2 max.Keywords: body mass index, cardiorespiratory fitness, percent fat massABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan hubungan antara persentase lemak tubuh (PLT) dan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dengan kebugaran kardiorespiratorik (KKR) pada dewasa muda. Penelitian menggunakan desain potong lintang dengan melibatkan 75 orang mahasiswa usia 19-21 tahun. PLT ditentukan dengan metode tetra polar Bioelectrical Impedance dan KKR ditentukan dengan VO2max berdasarkan uji Balke dan fleksibilitas dengan uji sit-and-reach. Hubungan antara PLT dan IMT dengan KKR dianalisis dengan uji regresi. Rata-rata (standar deviasi) dari PLT dan IMT berturut-turut adalah 25,6 (8,3)% dan 22,4 (4,2) kg/m2. Baik PLT maupun IMT berbanding terbalik dengan nilai VO2 max dan fleksibilitas. Korelasi antara PLT dengan kedua komponen KKR lebih kuat (PLT-VO2 max: R2=0,45 p<0,0001; PLT-fleksibilitas: R2=0,16 p<0,0001) dibanding IMT (IMT-VO2 max: R2=0,12 p=0,002; IMT-fleksibilitas: R2=0,07 p<0,0001). Memasukkan gender sebagai prediktor variabel memperkuat semua korelasi kecuali antara PLT dan fleksibilitas. Diperlukan studi lebih lanjut untuk mempelajari hubungan antara komposisi tubuh termasuk faktor perancu potensial dengan fleksibilitas dan komponen KKR lainnya.Kata kunci: indeks massa tubuh, kebugaran kardiorespiratorik, persen lemak tubuh

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aimed of this study was to determine the differences intake of macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates) and fiber with respect to their nutritional status of children aged 6-12 years. This study was used secondary data Riskesdas 2010. The number of subjects was 2,987 children aged 6-12 years in Sulawesi Island. Body Mass Index for Age (BMI/U) was used to measure the nutritional status. Independent sample t-test and analysis of variance were applied to answer the research questions. The result showed that most of subjects were male (58.7%), living in rural areas (50.2%), and with low economic status (54.1%). In regard to protein intake, most of the children age 6 years was about 80-99% Recommended Dietary Intake (RDA). On the contrary, most of children 7-9 years and 10-12 years were below 70% RDA. There were no differences intake of macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates) and fiber to the nutritional status of children aged 6-12 years (p>0.05). This study found that most of the children were suffering macro-nutrients intake regardless their nutritional status. Therefore, we need to have a good program to monitor nutritional status of school children.Keywords: nutrient intake, nutritional status, school age children 6-12 yearABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan asupan zat gizi makro (protein, lemak, karbohidrat) dan serat terhadap status gizi pada anak usia 6-12 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder Riskesdas 2010 dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah anak usia 6-12 tahun dengan status gizi kurus, normal, dan gemuk menurut IMT/U di Pulau Sulawesi tahun 2010 berjumlah 2.087 orang. Pengujian statistik menggunakan independent sample t-test dan Anova. Sebagian besar subjek berjenis kelamin laki-laki (58,7%), tinggal di perdesaan (50,2%), dan berstatus ekonomi rendah (54,1%). Rata-rata asupan protein pada kelompok umur 6 tahun termasuk kategori sedang (80-99% AKG) namun pada usia 7-9 tahun dan usia 10-12 tahun termasuk kategori defisit (<70% AKG). Tidak terdapat perbedaan asupan zat gizi makro dan serat terhadap status gizi (IMT/U) di Pulau Sulawesi (p>0,05). Penelitian ini menemukan adanya keberagaman asupan dan status gizi anak usia sekolah. Oleh karenanya, diperlukan program pemantauan status gizi secara rutin di sekolah.Kata kunci: anak usia 6-12 tahun, asupan zat gizi, status gizi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the frequency of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on body fat of female university students. A quasi experimental design was applied by involving 21 undergraduate students who were divided into three groups of treatments moderate-intensity aerobic exercise intervention for eight weeks. The first group was two times a week, the second group was three times a week, and third group was four times a week. Primary data collected was included subcutaneous fat (triceps, abdomen, and thigh). The results showed that the third group has significantly difference in reducing body fats, namely 6.6 cm triceps, 5.4 cm abdomen, and 9.4 cm thigh (p<0.05).Keywords: aerobic exercise, body fat, moderate-intensityABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh frekuensi senam aerobik intensitas sedang (low impact) terhadap lemak tubuh mahasiswi. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan subjek berjumlah 21 mahasiswi, kemudian dibagi kedalam tiga kelompok perlakuan dengan melakukan senam aerobik intensitas sedang selama delapan minggu. Kelompok pertama diberikan perlakuan dua kali dalam seminggu, kelompok kedua tiga kali dalam seminggu dan kelompok ketiga diberikan perlakuan empat kali seminggu. Data primer terdiri atas lemak tubuh (trisep, abdomen, dan paha depan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada kelompok tiga terdapat penurunan yang nyata (p<0,05) sebelum dan setelah perlakuan sebesar 6,6 cm trisep, 5,4 cm abdomen dan 9,4 cm paha depan.Kata kunci: aerobik, intensitas sedang, lemak tubuh

Abstract

AbstractSchool-age children act as an investment for the nation, since they are the future generation. The optimal Growth and development  of school-age children depends on adequate nutrient intake through high quality food and their physical fitness. For a school age children, physical fitness status is very important to suppport learning and playing activity. Children who are at good physical fitness status will be able to learn, play, or doing other activities longer than those who did not have optimal physical fitness status. Physical fitness status influenced by several things, including nutrient intake and body composition. This activity aims to assess the fitness status of male and female students of State Elementary School Duri Kepa 11. This activity is done with cross-sectional design. This activities carried out in March 2016. The population in this activity are children of school age grade 3 and 4 in Duri Kepa SD Negeri Jakarta, 83 students were present and willing to become respondent in this activity.  Fitness status measurement is done by bleep test method and then the result compared with the fitness status standard. Based on the measurement, results showed that  majority of female students at  SDN Duri Kepa 11 status is not fit, yet, most of the male students were on optimal physical fitness status.  Constant monitoring of elementary school student’ physical fitness status need to be done not only to support childrens health status but also as a basis to do an health intervention.  Keywords: fitness, student, elementary school AbstrakAnak usia sekolah adalah investasi bangsa, karena mereka adalah generasi penerus bangsa. Tumbuh berkembangnya anak usia sekolah yang optimal tergantung pemberian asupan zat gizi dengan kualitas dan kuantitas yang baik serta benar. Bagi seorang anak, kebugaran sangat penting terutama sebagai modal utama dalam melaksanakan kegiatan belajar dan bermain. Anak yang bugar akan memiliki rentang perhatian lebih lama dalam belajar, bermain, atau berbagai kegiatan lainnya. Kebugaran jasmani dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, diantaranya asupan zat gizi dan komposisi tubuh. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menilai status kebugaran siswa dan siswi SDN Negeri Duri Kepa 11. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan desain cross-sectional. Waktu kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2016. Populasi dalam kegiatan ini adalah anak-anak usia sekolah kelas 3 dan 4 di SD Negeri Duri Kepa Jakarta. Dari jumlah populasi yang ada, didapatkan besar sampel yang hadir dan bersedia untuk menjadi responden sebesar 83 siswa/i. Pengukuran status kebugaran dilakukan dengan cara bleep test dan kemudian dibandingkan dengan standar kebugaran anak. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran didapatkan hasil sebagian besar siswi SDN Duri Kepa 11 berstatus tidak bugar namun, sebagian besar siswa SDN Duri Kepa Berstatus Bugar. Banyaknya siswi yang berstatus tidak bugar, pemantauan terhadap kebugaran dan pembinaan kebugaran jasmani siswa SD perlu dilakukan untuk menunjang status kesehatan anak sekolah.Kata Kunci: kebugaran, siswa, sekolah dasar

Abstract

Abstrak Pada usia remaja pelajar lebih mementingkan penampilan fisik. Remaja putri termasuk kelompok yang rentan mengalami masalah gizi. Asupan makan yang buruk menjadi penyebab umum masalah gizi pada remaja. Keseimbangan antara zat gizi yang masuk dibutuhkan untuk kesehatan yang optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan zat gizi dan status gizi pada remaja putri. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer berupa karakteristik responden. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 150 remaja putri di SMK Sumpah pemuda 2 Ciawi Bogor. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi Spearman. Persentase responden dengan asupan energi cukup sebesar 73,3%, persentase responden dengan asupan protein kurang sebesar 88%, persentase responden dengan dan asupan karbohidrat cukup sebesar 51,3%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara asupan energi, protein, dan karbohidrat dengan status gizi. Untuk mencapai status gizi optimal, remaja harus memenuhi kebutuhan asupan energi dan zat gizi makro, terutama asupan protein yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam masa pertumbuhan.Kata kunci: Remaja putri, Asupan gizi, Status gizi Abstract In adolescence, students are more concerned about physical appearance. Female adolescents are a group particularly vulnerable to nutritional problem. Poor food intake becomes a common cause of nutritional problems in adolescents. Balance between nutrition intakes is needed for optimal health. This study used a cross sectional design which aimed to determine the relationship between nutrition intake and nutritional status in female adolescents. The data used were primary data in a form of respondents’ characteristics. The sample used was 150 female adolescents in SMK Sumpah Pemuda 2 Ciawi Bogor. The statistical test used was the Spearman correlation test. The percentage of respondents with sufficient energy intake was 73.3%, the percentage of respondents with less protein intake was 88%, the percentage of respondents with and enough carbohydrate intake was 51.3%. There is a significant relationship among energy, protein, and carbohydrate intake with nutritional status. To reach optimal nutritional status, adolescents must meet the needs of energy intake and macro nutrients, especially protein intake that is highly needed in the growing period. Abstract

Physical Fitness is the ability to do daily activities easily, without getting tired excessive, and has a power reserve to rest. VO2max is a main factor for athletes in order to get a good performance. This study aims to determine the relationship of energy intake, macro and micro nutrients to physical fitness of athletes of Dyva Taekwondo Centre Cibinong. This study used cross sectional design research. The number of respondents was 30 athletes determined by total sampling. The consumption energy and macronutrients were measured by 3x24 hour recall method, whereas intake of micronutrients data was obtained using semy FFQ. Variable relationships were tasted using Pearson Correlation. The result showed that the average age of respondents was 14±1 years, energy intake 2259±571 kkal, protein 73±15 g, fat 51,7±8,9 g, carbohydrate 259±57 g, vitamin B1 1,15±0,4 mg, vitamin C 230±81,7 mg, fe 21±4,5 mg and fitness level 35,69±7,2 kg/ml/minute. There was relationship of energy intake (p= 0,0001), carbohydrate (p=0,0001), vitamin C (p=0,0001), fe (p=0,007 and fitness level. There was no correlation between fat intake, protein, vitamin B1 and fitness level (p=0,081, p=0,497, p=0,383).  Intake of energy, carbohydrate, vitamin C, and fe does relate to physical fitness of athletes of Dyva Taekwondo Centre Cibinong. Athletes are advised to consume food according to their daily needs in order to maintain their fitness therefore, they can achieve optimal performance.
