Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning on cognitive learning outcomes in terms of students' academic abilities. This study was aquasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with 2x4 factorial design. The study population was a student of biology education STKIP Bima semester IV, total of 8 classes with a number of 336 students. Samples were obtained through a simple random sampling technique, of which there are 8 classes taken 4 classes as the sample with 168 students.The research instrument is a cognitive achievement test. The data were analyze dusing statistical techniques Anacova two paths. The results showed that 1) There is influence of cooperative learning model type STAD, Jigsaw II, and the TGT to the cognitive achievement of students (p <0.05), 2) There is influence of academic ability on the cognitive achievement of students (p <0.05) , 3) There is no influence to interaction effect between cooperative learning model type STAD, Jigsaw II, and TGT with academic ability of the student cognitive learning outcomes (p> 0.05), 4) Different test results show that the cooperative learning model TGT significant differences in their effects oncognitive learning outcomes, compared with Jigsaw II, and STAD (coefficient positively and sig. <0,05).

Abstract

Arguing ability was a part of critical thinking skills which important to be mastered by the students. In fact, students’ ability to argue was still relatively low. This referred to the TIMSS report (The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) in 2011, and showed that Indonesian children’s level in science was positioned in 42 from 45 countries. One kind of efforts to improve the quality of the ability to argue was applying the model of guided inquiry. This study was aimed to develop inquiry-based learning tools (PPBIT) and analyzed its effectiveness in developing the ability to argue of students at SMAN 2 Taliwang-West Sumbawa. PPBIT was carried out by applying 4D procedure. Then, pretest posttest control group design also completely concerned in determining the effectiveness of PPBIT. There were 66 students as the sample which was scattered from two classes and was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that PPBIT was appropriately to be used for students argumentation  skills’ activities by an average of feasibility syllabus 78.71%, RPP 83.5, LKITS 75%, and Instruments KB 80.25%, and effective in improving the ability to argue the class X SMAN 2 Taliwang, particularly on the subject of environmental pollution and recycling of waste by the average score of the students' ability from 48.22 up to 85.08Keyword: PPBIT, Argument

Abstract

Saat ini sekolah belum menerapkan suasana belajar yang mengembangkan kemampuan siswa, terutama dalam kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Sehingga tingkatan kemampuan berpikir siswa hanya berada pada tataran berpikir tingkat rendah yang tidak memiliki penalaran dan kemampuan menyelesaikan  masalah yang nyata. Pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif menjadi alternatif pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningktakan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran (PBM terintegrasi STAD, PBM dan STAD), kemampuan akademik siswa dan interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dengan tingkat kemampuan akademik siswa terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah dan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment  dengan Pretest-Posttes Nonequivalent Control Group Design, perlakuan dengan seting faktorial 2 x 3. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 480 siswa yang tersebar dalam 12 kelas. Teknik sampling dipilih dengan cluster random sampling dan diperoleh 120 siswa yang tersebar dalam 3 kelas. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan  adanya pengaruh yang signifikan (p&lt;0,05) pada penerapan strategi pembelajaran (PBM terintegrasi STAD, PBM dan STAD) terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah  dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.  Tingkat kemampuan akademik siswa (tinggi dan rendah) juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan (p&lt;0,05) terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah  dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Namun interaksi antara srategi pembelajaran dengan kemampuan akademik siswa tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah  dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa (p&gt;0,05).

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan sebagai proses memerlukan adanya filsafat sebagai acuan dalam mengarahkan tujuan pendidikan yang ingin dicapai. Beberapa aliran yang ber­pengaruh terhadap filsafat pendidikan di Indonesia antara lain aliran idealisme, aliran rasionalisme, humanisme dan pragmatisme. Dalam kondisi budaya Indonesia yang khas perlu dikembangkan filsafat pendidikan yang bersifat progresif dan terpadu dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal sehingga menjadi perpaduan yang serasi dan relevan dengan nilai-nilai pancasila sebagai dasar dan filosofi umum bangsa Indonesia. Dalam konteks ini, filsafat pendidikan khususnya dalam bidang pembelajaran sains berperan sebagai acuan untuk membantu generasi muda bangsa menghadapi pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi serta arus globalisasi budaya dan ekonomi. Dalam kondisi seperti ini setiap pendidik bidang sains perlu mengembangkan filosofi yang mantap dalam upaya mengembangkan pembelajaran sains yang berpusat pada peserta didik, memaksimalkan peran pendidikan sains dalam proses rekonstruksi paradigma pembelajaran, serta dalam pengembangan kete­rampilan berpikir peserta didik di setiap jenjang sekolah. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, adalah menjadi tanggung-jawab pendidik dan sekolah untuk berusaha 1) mengidentifikasi implikasi nilai-nilai etika dalam setiap proses perubahan yang terjadi, 2) membantu untuk berkembangnya nilai-nilai positif dalam diri peserta didik, dan 3) membantu peserta didik untuk dapat mengambil sikap dan keputusan yang tepat dalam merencanakan kehidupannya secara berarti. Kata-kata kunci: filsafat, filosofi sains, idealisme, rasionalisme, humanisme,

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif  ditinjau dari kemampuan akademik mahasiswa.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian  eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest non equivalen control group design dengan rancangan  faktorial 2x4. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Biologi semester IV STKIP Bima, sebanyak 8 kelas dengan jumlah   336 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian diperoleh melalui teknik simple random sampling, dari 8 kelas yang ada diambil  4 kelas sebagai sampel dengan jumlah 168 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar kognitif. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan teknik statistik  Anacova dua jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, Jigsaw II, dan TGT terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa (p&lt;0,05), 2) Ada pengaruh kemampuan akademik terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa (p&lt;0,05), 3) Tidak ada pengaruh interaksi model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, Jigsaw II, dan TGT dengan kemampuan akademik terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa (p&gt;0,05), 4) Hasil uji beda menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT yang signifikan perbedaan pengaruhnya terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, dibandingkan dengan tipe Jigsaw II, dan STAD (berkoofisien positif dan sig.&lt; 0,05).

Abstract

In the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of  2003 on the national education system of article 1, paragraph 1 that education will be successful in learning activities where students are able to achieve the expected competencies of science and give a positive value to themselves. Critical thinking ability and reasoning ability is part of the high school biology course goals that can be developed through a student-centered learning, such as quantum learning, problem-based learning, and scientific approach. This study aimed to develop the quantum problem-based learning model packages and the quantum without problem-based learning (PKBM and PKTBM) with 4 and 6 stage of scientific  approach  toward critical thinking ability and  reasoning ability in tenth grades. Process of development teaching and learning packages refers to the model Dick & Carey. Teaching and learning packages developed to biology course for the tenth grade of senior high school in ecological material. Data were  collected by using instruments feasibility characteristics of teaching and learning packages. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the syllabus and the learning lesson plan (LLP)  got a worthy category; worksheets, tests of critical thinking ability and tests of reasoning ability got a very worthy category to used in tenth grades of senior high school.Keywords: PKBM, PKTBM, scientific approach, critical thinking ability, reasoning ability

Abstract

This study aims to develop of learning package 5E model and analyze the effect of its implementation on the differences in student’s critical thinking and arguing skills. Development process follows R & D model by Dick and Carey. Research design follows pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was tenth graders of SMA 1 Woha Bima. Total population is 350 students from ten class. The sample was selected by simple random sampling technique and 131 students (four class) is obtained. X1 and X2 class are taught using the 5E models, while the X5 and X9 class with EEK models. Expert judgement results meet the criteria for the development of a very good result with an average value of 3.37. The results of experimental studies showed that: there is a difference in students’ critical thinking in the experimental and control group (t = 3,501, p = 0,001).Keywords: 5E Model, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Secondary school science educators need to have good scientific literacy and critical thinking skills, so that they have sufficient competency to teach students to be able to compete in the current and future information and globalization. The purpose of this research was to determine the profile of scientific literacy and critical thinking skills of science educators. The subjects of this study were secondary school science educators who were still actively carrying out their professional duties. This study uses descriptive research methods.  The instrument of data collection consists of scientific literacy instruments and instruments of critical thinking skills. The results of the study show that the science literacy profile of science educators is on average categorized as sufficient. The profile of the science literacy skills of junior high school educators is categorized as 33.33% in the good group, 16.67% in the sufficient category, and 50% in the less category. Profile of the average critical thinking skills of science educators in the medium category. Science educators who have high critical thinking skills are 32%, those with moderate critical thinking skills are 32%, and those who have low critical thinking skills are 36%.Keywords: Literacy Science, Critical Thinking, Science Educators.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning devices, especially in the evaluation section of science learning in junior high school, which in turn after being implemented in the classroom is expected to develop 21st century skills of students. In particular, this study aims to, 1) identify science learning evaluation tools made by teachers so that they obtain a clear picture of the profile of the evaluation tool, 2) develop a junior high school science learning evaluation tool that supports 21st century skills. This research includes development research in four stages, namely: decide, design, develop, and evaluate. The results of this study indicate that the tools developed by the teacher are in complete category, the learning objectives are clear, although the stages in part still need to be improved. Learning evaluation instruments developed by the teacher have met the principles of assessment, the presentation is in accordance with the curriculum, the sentence in the question is quite communicative, uses good and correct language and does not cause multiple interpretations. However, the majority of questions made by teachers still measure low-level thinking skills. This is because teachers have not been trained in developing questions that measure high-level thinking skills. Abstract

PISA measurement results from 2000-2015 show the fact that students in Indonesia have a low ability in the science literacy. This study aims to determine the ability of biological literacy based on gender in MIPA Specialization students in SMA Negeri in West Lombok regency. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Samples of research were 360 students from 2357 students of class XI and XII MIPA interest in 6 Senior High Schools of West Lombok regency in learning year 2017/2018. The research instrument uses adaptation of PISA Science Literacy test in 2006 and 2009 which consists of two  aspects, namely: Knowledge and Competency). The result of  this research: Biology literacy ability of MIPA Student by gender in West Lombok regency, male students dominant at level 1, level 2 and level 3 while female student is dominant at level 4, level 5 and level 6.Keywords: Biological literacy, Gender, MIPA Specialization
