Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve critical thinking skills and study result of social study in VthB class of 5 west Metro through the application of the problem posing model. Data collection techniques used were non test techniques and tests, while the data collection tool used observation sheets and questions test, then it was analyzed with qualitative analysis techniques and quantitative analysis. The results showed that by applying problem posing models can improve critical thinking skills and study result. Students who have critical thinking skills at the first cycle were 51,45% and 77,77% second cycle increased 26,32%. The average value of study result at the first cycle were 62.91 and 75,32 second cycle increased 12,41. The percentage of study result at the first cycle were 43,75%, and 83,30% second cycle increased 39,55%.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas VB SD Negeri 5 Metro Barat melalui penerapan model problem posing. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik nontes dan tes, sedangkan alat pengumpul data menggunakan lembar observasi dan soal-soal tes, kemudian di analisis dengan teknik analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model problem posing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Siswa yang memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis siklus I sebesar 51,45% dan siklus II 77,77% meningkat 26,32%. Rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa siklus I sebesar 62,91 dan siklus II 75,32 meningkat 12,41. Persentase ketuntasan belajar siklus I sebesar 43,75%, dan siklus II 83,30% meningkat 39,55%.Kata kunci: keterampilan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar, problem posing
