Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the optimum mass, optimum agitation times and the   effect of the concentration of direct red dye was adsorbed by charcoal of ambon and kepok banana peels. And to determine the influence of activator concentration of NaOH on the adsorption capacity of ambon and kepok banana peels on the adsorption of direct red dye. The subject of this study is the ambon and kepok banana peels. The object of this study is the efficiency of adsorption. The parameters in this study are the mass of adsorbent, agitation times, dye concentrations, and the concentration of NaOH activator. Adsorption capacity of banana peels to direct red dye is determined by the difference of concentration before and after adsorption. The concentration of dye was determined using a spectrophotometer at an optimum wavelength of visible light. The result shows that the optimum mass and agitation time for direct red dye adsorption which are adsorbed by the charcoal both of ambon and kepok banana peels adsorbent is 0.5 grams per 50 mL of the adsorbate and 2 hours, respectively. Direct red dye concentration does not affect the efficiency of adsorption ambon banana peel charcoal but influences the efficiency of adsorption kepok banana peel charcoal. The greatest adsorption ability of ambon and kepok  banana peels are given by NaOH activator at 0.5 M and 1 M. Key words: banana peel, banana peel charcoal, direct red, agitation time

Abstract

Water is abundant on Earth, so its utilization as an energy source makes its own challenges. Water molecules can be reacted into hydrogen and oxygen gasses in various ways. Hydrogen gas is an environmentally friendly fuel, reliable substitution for fossil fuel which is depleting within time, so the efforts relating to the provision of renewable energy needs support from various parties. Electrolysis is a well known process, which is one of the ways to react the water molecule into hydrogen and oxygen gas, but it has low effectiveness generally. Therefore, it is necessary to have the efforts increasing the effectiveness of electrolysis process, both in terms of electrodes and the electrolyte used. This study had conducted on base condition with NaHCO3 addition, on dahlia tuber starch media, and using working electrode stainless steel and stainless steel/Fe-Co-Ni. The method of research  was using linear and cyclic voltammetry using eDAQEChem voltammeter apparatus, which is able to describe the flow of voltage and current used within electrolysis process. The existence of dahlia tuber starch leads to cover the surface of the electrode so that the process of water molecules reaction becomes obstructed. It is obtained that the optimum covering of electrode surface is achieved in the addition of 9 grams of dahlia tube starch in one liter of water.Keywords: water molecule dissociation reaction, voltammograms, dahlia tuber starch, stainless steel, covering

Abstract

Language is always used in everyday life when interacting in society. There is no doubt that language is a major necessity that a person needs for survival. Everyone needs a language to communicate or understand what a person is saying. This study aims to determine the development of language, especially phonology in early childhood through flash card media. This research is done by collecting data from various ways that is observation, interview, documentation. The result of this research can be concluded that in TK.Al-Hikmah Malang there are some children of 5-6 years age range which language development especially phonology experience improvement when using flash card media. From the results of this study, it can be appealed to early childhood educators to apply flash card media to improve the language development of children.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat dengan khalayak sasaran warga Dusun Krajan, Wedomartani Kabupaten Sleman.  Tujuan Pengabdian adalah memberikan pengetahuan tentang cara pembuatan pelembut cucian  pada masyarakat Dusun Krajan, memberikan motivasi kepada masyarakat Dusun Krajan  untuk membuat pelembut cucian secara mandiri, memotivasi masyarakat Dusun Krajan untuk menggunakan pelembut cucian yang ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PPM ini adalah ceramah dan diskusi dan dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan pembuatan pelembut cucian. Selain itu juga dilakukan evaluasi untuk memantau keberhasilan program. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, maka diperoleh kesimpulan sebanyak 100% peserta pelatihan memahami materi pelatihan, sebanyak 100% peserta pelatihan memiliki motivasi untuk membuat pelembut cucian di rumah, dan sebanyak 78% peserta pelatihan berminat untuk membuat usaha pembuatan  pelembut cucian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui massa biosorben optimum, waktu kontak optimum dan konsentrasi pewarna optimum dalam biosorpsi lumpur aktif terhadap pewarna remazol teknis serta mengetahui pengaruh proses biosorpsi terhadap kadar COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) pewarna  remazol teknis. Proses biosorpsi dilakukan dengan sistem batch pada berbagai variasi massa biosorben, waktu kontak dan konsentrasi pewarna remazol teknis. Larutan pewarna remazol teknis sebelum dan sesudah biosorpsi dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Penentuan kadar COD dilakukan pada larutan remazol teknis sebelum dan sesudah adsorpsi. Efisiensi biosorpsi dinyatakan dalam bentuk konsentrasi teradsorpsi dibagi konsentrasi mula-mula larutan dan dikalikan 100%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: massa lumpur aktif yang memberikan efisiensi terbesar pada biosorpsi remazol blue yaitu 5 gram dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 6,83% sedangkan untuk remazol red adalah 150 gram dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 67,19%. Waktu optimum dalam biosorpsi remazol blue menggunakan lumpur aktif adalah 15 menit dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 7,98%, sedangkan untuk remazol red adalah 75 menit dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 9,30%. Konsentrasi optimum dalam biosorpsi remazol blue menggunakan lumpur aktif adalah 200 ppm dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 6,19% dan untuk remazol red 600 ppm dengan efisiensi biosorpsi 9,10%. Kadar COD  pewarna remazol blue mengalami penurunan sebesar 22,22% setelah proses biosorpsi dengan lumpur aktif.
