Abstract

There is a value of Riemann integral from a function that cannot becalculated. In this case, approximate method can be used to interpret the value.One of the approximate method of integral Riemann is tangent line method that isa compound method between the sum of Riemann and trapezoid method. Thetangent line method uses the tangent line approach. In this writing, the topicdiscussed is the tangent line method in deciding the approximacy of Riemannintegral of a function.

Abstract

The background of this research is that the students’ mathematical concept apprehensions are low, that can be seen from the points of 2nd-final-semester examination of VIII-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang of the year 2012/2013. The purposes of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept apprehensions by applying the trading-places-type active learning strategy is better than that using the conventional learning for the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang. This is experimental research with Random to Subject design. The population in this research is the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang of the year 2013/2014, consisting of six classes from IX2 to IX7 classes, except for IX1 class that is excellent students. The technique of sampling is total sampling. The sample classes were determined randomly so that the IX4 was selected as an experimental class and the IX6 as a control. The instrument used in this research is test for the mathematical concept apprehension in the form of essay with the test reliability of r11 = 0.89. The technique of data analysis applied is t test of one party with assistance of software MINITAB. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously on the level of α = 0.05 and the hypothesis tes is P value = 0.021, meaning smaller than α = 0.05. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension using the trading-places-type active learning strategy is better than that using the conventional learning for the IX-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang with the trust level of 95%..

Abstract

            The background of this research was lack of concept understanding of students couse study result of math of eight grade students of MTsN Durian Tarung Padang in the school year 2012/2013 are still low largely. This research aimed to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by listening team type of active leaning strategy is better then the students understanding of math concepts with conventional. Type of this research is experimental, by design of random to the subject. The population in this study were eight grade students of MTsN Durian Tarung Padang in the school year 2012/2013. Technique of random sampling, was elected class 𝑉𝐼𝐼𝐼3 as an experimental class and class 𝑉𝐼𝐼𝐼4 as the control class. The instrument used was an essay test with reliability 𝒓𝟏𝟏=0.75. Based on the analysis test of students’ understanding of mathematics concepts for two class sample obtained experimental class average is 74.43 and control class is 62.45 with P-value = 0,004 is less than a = 0.05 this means that the ability of students’ understanding concept’ of math by using listening team type active leaning strategy is better than study outcomes of math by using conventional learning at 95 % trusted level.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of mathematis concept in mathematic lesson become the background of this research, many students don’t yet real material of the lesson at home and the students are least responsible toword assignment that are gave by the teacher. The purpose of this research is to know: 1) Resitasi method is effective that is used in mathematic lesson, and 2) Students’ understanding of mathematic concept at class of XI IPA SMAN 2 Lengayang which use resitasi method is more  good than students’ understanding of mathematis concept by using convensional learning. Based Questionnaires that is gave for 26 students’, so it can be seen that resitasi method is verry effective which is used in mathematic lesson, because the analysis of quetionnaires are very effective criteria 77,88%. To see students’ understanding of mathematis concept is done hyphotesis test by using uji t one step. In bnefly, it is got hyphotesis are 0,043 with P-value . In summary, Students’ understanding of mathematis concept uses resitasi method which is more good than students’ understanding of mathematis concept by applying convensional learning.

Abstract

Based on background knowledge of this research was students’ ability in solving  mathematical problem that still low, one way to solve this problem was applied problem solving strategy Wankat and Oreovocz. The purpose of this research was to know 1) whether students’ ability to solve the problem by using problem solving strategy Wankat and Oreovocz better than conventional strategy, 2) how the students attitude through learning activities by using problem solving strategy Wankat and Oreovocz. Type of this research was experiment. Population of this research was students at X Grade of SMK N 1 Pulau Punjung. In choosing sample used randomly technique.  X TKJ 2 as experimental class and X TKJ 1 as control class. Ability of problem solving test and questionaire as instrumentation in this research with r11= 0.73. Data analysis was done by using Mann Withney test through MINITAB Sofware. From the data analysis get  with P-value = 0.0076. So, we can conclude that students’ ability in problem solving of mathematical concept by using Wankat and Oreovocz better than conventional strategy at X Grade of SMK N 1 Pulau Punjung, based on questionare, students’ attitude in learning activities by using problem solving strategy Wankat and Oreovocz was better.

Abstract

Everyone Is A Teacher Here (ETH) is a learning strategy that enables students to be expected to increase students understanding of the concept of SMAN 1 Lembah Melintang are low. The purpose of this research was to find out whether the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying active learning strategy ETH type it joined handout was better than applying conventional learning. Thish research is experimental research. The research population was X grade students of SMAN 1 Lembah Melintang West Pasaman district and samples were X3 as experimental class, X6 as control class. The instrument which was used in this research was essay test with index of reliability = 0,96. Based on the result of data analysis concerning with student’s understanding of mathematical concept to both of classes. It was found that the mean score of experimental class = 76,10 and the mean score of control class = 63,53. The hypothesis testing shown that tcalculated =3.84 is low than t(0,95)(75) = 1,67, it could be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted. In other word the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by applying active learning strategy ETH type it joined handout was better than conventional learning at confidence interval 95%.

Abstract

This research is based on the background by the student’s  understanding mathematical concept is low, which cause the result of learning student mathematics is not good. This research aim to 1) know whether student’s understanding of mathematical concept  student with implementing active study strategy  type of Everyone Is A Teacher here better than the understanding of mathematical concept by applying with conventional teaching  class of VIII SMPN 1 Pancung Soal 2013 / 2014 school year.  2). How’s student motivation to learn mathematics.This type of research is experimental. Population in this research is all student in grade VIII SMPN 1 Pancung Soal  2013 / 2014 school year, which consist of 6 class. Tehcnique of random sampling is the chosen class VIII.2 as experimental class and  VIII.3 as control class. Research Instrument  are  enquette form and the final test. Test  used is essai with the reliabilitation  0,91. Technique analyse data which is use test of t one side with MINITAB.Based on final data test analysis can be obtained by p-Value = 0,041 smaller than a = 0,05. This means can be concluded students  understanding of mathematical concept by implementing active study strategy  type of Everyone Is A Teacher Here better than the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying convetional learning in class of VIII SMPN 1 Pancung Soal 2013 / 2014, school year. Pursuant to enquette analysis motivate students to learn by using active strategy type of Everyone Is A Teacher Here is motivating.

Abstract

The comprehension in mathematics concept for students is still low becomes a basic of this research. The purpose of this research is to know what is the comprehension of mathematic concept for active  learning type The Power of Two  with Handout better than for implementation of convensional learning’s students for grade IX SMPN 2 2x11Enam Lingkung in 2013/2014. The type of this research is experimental research by using random planning focused on subject. The populations are students in grade IX SMPN 2 2x11Enam Lingkung  in 2013/2014, which consist of five classes. Moreover, sample of this research is taken by random, IX3 is for experimental class and IX2 is for control class. The instrument of this research is the comprehension of mathematics concept test. The techniques of data analysis is using t test for one group by software MINITAB is got P-value = 0,001 smaller than   = 0.05, so this hyphothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the comprehension of mathematics concept for implemented convensional learning’s students.

Abstract

Student’s comprehension of mathematical concept is relatively low for conducting this research. Purpose of this research to determine the students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing better than students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply to convention teaching of eightth grade student of Junior High School 17 Padang. This type of research is experimental research. The research population was a student of eightth grade at Junior High School 17 Padang. Sampling technique was randomly, selected class is the class VIII1, as experimental class and the class VIII2 as control class. Instrument used is final test with indicator concept of comprehension form of the test used is essaywith totaling 9 item question. Data were analyzed by using a normality test, homogeny test, and t test. Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average result of the students comprehension of mathematical concept experimental was 87.30 and 68.04 the control class student. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test with MINITAB software, acquired P-value less than , so it can be concluded that the student comprehension of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning model Snowball Throwing better than student comprehension of mathematical concept that applying conventional learning on student eightth grade at Junior High School 17 Padang.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the phenonema indicating  that the students understanding of mathematical concept have still low, that can be seen from the completion percentage of I-semester point of VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang. This was because the students do not concern with learning. The purpose of this research is to know whether the student understanding of mathematical concept by using the active learning strategy with Guided Note Taking (GNT) type was better than the student understanding of mathematical concept by applying the conventional one of VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang. This was experimental research. The population in this research  the VII-grade students of SMPN 28 Padang of the year 2013/2014, and they consist of seven classes with random sampling technique. The selected classes are VII.8 class as an experimental class and VII.5 class as a control. The instruments used in this research was final tests. The form of tests provided was essay with the number of 8 problems with reliability of 0.918. From the results of hypothesis analysis, it is obtained that P-value is 0.001 so that the hypothesis is accepted on the real level of α = 0.05. It can be summarized that the students understanding of mathematical concept by applying the active learning strategy with Guided Note Taking (GNT) type was better than that by using the conventional one for the VII-grade students of  SMPN 28 Padang.
