Abstract

Air conditioning process is a technique that can be used to adjust preferable condition of air temperature in a room so an appropriate condition can be achieved. Cooling pocess is a room can be identified as a transferring process of heat from that room into other places. This absorbing or transferring process is not as casy as the process of interesting the heat into the room. In absorbing process of the heat, it is necessary to use certain equipment and careful activities, particularly in choosing the right devices and planning activities choosing cooling procedures. Those device must be really determinated by several factors such as the quantity of the absorbed heat, duration and capacity of utilized devices.

Abstract

Capacity of a pump is the fundamental data used in selecting certain pump. The flowing speed of the pump is very useful to determine the pumps capacity for irrigating process. This capacity must fulfill utilizing requirements which focus on two main criteria : 1) total capacity of pumps must provide maximum necessity (necessity on the highest point),  2) those pumps must be able to work efficiently and continously in the fluctuating condition. In order to fulfill the two criteria above it is necessary to use two ore more pumps with same capacity.

Abstract

Jumlah penduduk Indonesia semakin meningkat dan tentunya membutuhkan bahan bangunan untuk kebutuhan perumahannya. Bahan bangunan yang dibutuhkan sebahagian diproduksi oleh industri kecil atau rumahan. Salah satu bahan bangunan yang diproduksi adalah batu bata. Pada saat ini kebutuhan terhadap produk batu bata sangat meningkat, untuk itu perlu adanya dukungan dalam bentuk ketersediaan suatu mesin yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas sejalan sejalan dengan peningkatan kebutuhannya. System ekstrusi yang digunakan dalam mesin pencetak batu bata dapat meningkatkan produktivitas industri kecil batu bata untuk menjawab kebutuhan pasar bahan bangunan.

Abstract

Beragam sumber daya penggerak sudah dimanfaatkan oleh manusia, seperti motor bensin, motor diesel, turbin uap, turbin air atau motor listrik. Namun untuk menggunakannya memerlukan bahan  baker atau sumber yang spesifik serta memerlukan investsi yang besar. Kincir air yang sudah dikenal sejak lama terutama si Sumatera Barat merupakan Teknologi sederhana yang cukup digerakkan dengan aliran air yang tidak terlalu besar, tetapi dapat memberikan daya yang cukup besar. Kincir ini karena konstruksinya yang sangat sederhana dapat dibuat dimana saja dengan bahan kayu ataupun logam atau campuran keduannya. Daya yang dihasilkan dari kincir tersebut dapat dipergunakan untuk berbegai keperluan seperti penggerak generator kecil, berbagai macam alat penggiling, alat pertukangan dan lain-lain.

Abstract

Besi tuang (cast iron) adalah panduan antara besi dan karbon dengan kandungan karbon lebih tinggi dari 2,0 % yang banyak digunakan biasanya antara 2,5 % - 4,0 %. Kandungan karbon yang tinggi menyebabkan besi tuang menjadi rapuh dan memiliki kekuatan yang lebih rendah dari baja Besi tuang kelabu dalam pemakaiannya, tidak jarang terlebih dahulu mengalami proses perlakuan panas berupa annealing, normalizing, hardening, dan tempering dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan sifat ketahanan makanik. Akan tetapi pengaruh akibat perlakuan tersebut terhadap laju korosi kurang mendapat perhatian. Perlakuan panas yang diberikan berupa hardening dan tempering terhadap laju korosi bahan ditinjau dari struktur mikro yang terbentuk perlu untuk ditinjau, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu pertimbangan untuk laku panas yang diberikan terhadap bahan. Kriteria yang perlu dipenuhi oleh bahan sehingga dapat menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas baik dan mempunyai life time yang cukup.

Abstract

If the work piece that turning very long is so whenever done by the turning machine the guy wire because crosscut style effect of crosscut chisel will generate deflexed at the work piece cause the vibration at the time of cutting process so that surface of result process bubut become harshly. To avoid that usually used the supported. On the contrary usage of supporter economically is addition of the appliance and workmanship causing at addition of production cost in industrial scale. This research wish to be known maximum limit object overhang work without using supporter of flash light turn around at lathe process. Object length work at this research reprecentaced with the length dibubut per diameter (L/D). Object examinee diameter is Ø 20 with ratio length/diameter the object turning is: 1:1, 1,5:1, 2:1, 2,5:1, 3:1, 3,5:1, 4:1. From analysis use the method test T concluded that the work piece over hang give influence of surface roughness significant otherwise used unsupported is L/D ≥ 3.

Abstract

Bunch empy falm (TKS) is dust of fabrics palm oil, need handle seriussely, because of total relatif big and every year increase. This research objective is structures identification and phisic character TKS force analysis and sfecific cut energy and technic evaluation mchine of counter TKS with use meansurenment cutter specement. Structur identifition with eah sample are 15 spcies, weight 1,0 kg – 8,2. Cutting proces used variate edge angle (ANE) 250, 300,350, shear angle (SA) 00, 150, 300, and abligue angle (ANO) 200, 300, 400, Result of strukture identification TKS are 35,80 % bucnh 57,40 % sipkelet, and 6,80 not yet breaking loctly bucnh an center 73,9 % midel 78,8 %, and 17,66 %. Result of measurenment specific force cutting (GPS) and energi cutting (EPS) minimum bucnh 38,51 N/cm2 and 0,3 N/cm2 , on spikelet minimum GPS 135 N/cm2, minimum EPS 0,989 N/cm2, with used ANE 250, ANO 00, and SA 0o.

Abstract

This study focused on the manufacture of grain drying equipment was needed by farmers. Much research has been done by previous researchers about how to drain the rice in a relatively short time. And already there are many methods and tools of research that has been done including changing the form of construction, replacing the material in order to produce a good quality grain drying. In this paper, the authors conducted a study on how to make grain dryers and do research drying system. This research looks at how adaptable it’s in drying grain. The method I use is the reset method by comparing the natural drying and drying device made. Research using laboratory test equipment such as Airflow, digital scales and thermometers. Test data taken (values drought grain) using measurement methods directly on objects. Test data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. The results of processing these data it is concluded that the optimum conditions for drying grain with it’s that are made are in position 1, the air temperature is 420C grain drying, grain flow rate 0.1 Lt / dt, hot air flow rate 0.68 m / dt, grain drying value 1060 gr/lt.

Abstract

Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in wind into clean electricity. When the wind spins the wind turbines blades, a rotor captures the kinetic energy of the wind and converts it into rotary motion to drive the generator. Wind electric systems are one of the most cost-effective home-based renewable energy systems with zero emissions and pollution. Many factors that influence the performance of wind turbines such as wind speed, blade shape, and number of blades. In Generator, Coil number of turn (N) also influence performance of wind turbine. Manufacture of wind turbine prototype as a learning medium to facilitate students in understanding the concept of wind electric system. Results of the test prototype wind turbine if the wind speed the greater the resulting voltage will be higher, the Coil number of turn (N) also affects the voltage generated.

Abstract

Forging is a metal processing with state of deformation in the heat with a blow system. Some of the products produced by the industry wrought blacksmith like machetes, knives, hoes, Dodos, tools, household, agricultural, and equipment for agriculture and plantations. In general, the blacksmith business production is very limited and do not meet all the required quality standards, it is constrained in the process of forging forging products are still done manually with hammer blows repeatedly driven by hand. The purpose of this research is the design of machinery forging hammer spring system that works mechanically. With this engine the forging process becomes easier, production and product quality small blacksmith forging industry can be improved. From the results of the activities that have been implemented resulting machine forging hammer spring system with a size of 1.9 x 0.9 x 0.9 (m) by using a hammer tap mechanically driven by electric motors. The resulting machine uses 2 HP electric motor, using a flywheel as an addition to the pressure at the hammer presses the workpiece, and the clutch as successor breaker round, and spring hammer spring as conductor of the pressure fluctuation. So the use of the components of the flywheel and this springs capability of forging machine in one hit can reduce the depth of the workpiece to 2-3 mm, and the resulting number of strokes ± 200-250 blows / min.
