Abstract

Infeksi mirasidia Echinostoma revolatum pada siput Indoplanorbis exustus yang dipelihara di laboratorium tidak menghasilkan larva infektif metaserkia. Sedangkan dari siput Indoplanorbis exustus yang dikoleksi dari sawah di desa Sindang Barang diperoleh larva infektif metaserkia. Kecocokan siput Indoplanorbis exustus sebagai inang antara Echinostoma revolutum berturut-turut 0.00% pada kondisi laboratorium dan 30.47% pada kondisi alamiah.Metaserkia asal infeksi alamiah yang dikumpulkan dari siput Indoplanorbis exustus dan infeksi pada ayam menghasilkan cacing dewasa Echinostoma revolutum. Pada ayam perlakuan, rataan total infektivitas metaserkia hasil infeksi alamiah mencapai 4.67%

Abstract

Infeksi mirasidia Echinostoma revolutum pada siput Lymnaea rubiginosa yang dipelihara di Laboratorium menghasilkan larva iinfektif metaserkaria. Demikian juga dari  siput Lymnaea rubiginosa yang diambil dari sawah di desa Sindang Barang Bogor diperoleh larva infektif metaserkaria. Kecocokan siput Lymanea rubiginos sebagai inang antara Echinostoma revolutum berturut-turut mencapai 83.33% pada kondisi laboratorium dan 50.78% pada kondisi alamiah.Metaserkaria asal infeksi laboratorium maupun alamiah yang dikumpulkan dari siput Lymanaea rubiginosa dan diinfeksikan pada ayam, menghasilkan cacing dewasa Echinostoma revolutum. Rataan infektivitas metaserkaria tersebut pada ayam mencapai 35.80% dengan metaserkaria hasil infeksi laboratorium dan 19% dengan metaserkaria infeksi alamiah.

Abstract

Levamisole has been reported can enhance immune response of animals against disease (immunomodulator).Giving levamisole before vaccination Avian Influenza (AI) virus is expected to increase antibody level (humoral immune response) against the disease. These experiments use an experimental method with a completely randomized design.A total of 105 laying chickens were divided into three groups: group one were AI vaccinated without given levamisole hydrochloride; group two were given levamisole hydrochloride 3 days respectively before AI vaccination and group three were given levamisole hydrochloride 7 days respectively before AI vaccination. Levamisole hydrochloride 1mg/50g given at a dose of body weight, orraly through drinking water. Blood sample to measure levels of antibodies that was repeated 3 times ie on day 21, 59, and 80 days. The results showed imunododulator levamisole hydrochloride giving 3 (three) or 7 (seven) days respectively pre Avian Influenza virus vaccination of laying hens did not increase antibody level (humoral immune response). Abstract

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research was to find out biogas production on national scale, Malang District, and one of the villages in Ngantang, Malang District. Besides, the aim of this research is to find out the influence of biogas digester on human health, animal, and environment. This research was done using literature study and secondary data taken from Sumber Makmur Cooperation in Ngantang and Animal Health and Livestock Bureau in Malang District. The result of this research shows the potency of biogas production in Indonesia is huge. The amount of cows and cattles in Indonesia is around 15 million heads could produce biogas 9 million m3/day or 3285 million m3/month. If 1 m3 biogass equal to 0,62 lt gasoline, so 3285 million m3/month biogass equal to 2,036 billion of gasoline. If  biogass used by  Indonesian people as alternative energy, so it can save Rp 22,4 billion/year (price of gasoline Rp 11.000). The amount of cows and cattles  in Malang District were 315.326 heads and potency of biogass production about 189.196 m3/day or 68.110.416 m3/year. While the total cattles and cows in Waturejo village, Ngantang, Malang District were 1532 tails, the potency of the gas production about 919.2 m3/day or  335.508 m3/year. Processing manure into biogas is beneficial for  human, livestock and environment’s health  because it reduces  release of gases such as methane and CO2 into the atmosphere, reduces pathogens contamination to foodstuffs such as vegetables and milk and prevents environmental pollutions by pathogens that can cause death to humans and livestock. Abstract

Success of vaccination to certain diseases depends of immune response condition. One of drug that can act as immunomodulator is levamisol. The purpose of the reseach was to find out effect  of levamisol  pre AI vaccination  to immune  response  of layer. The research  used  experimental   method  and was based  on Randomized   Completely  Design. One  hundred   and  fifty   Days   Old  Chicks   (DOC)   were   divided   into  three  goups   of treatments.  First goup was without  levamisole  (control goup).The  second  and third goup were  given  levamisol   at  1  mg/50  kg  body  weight  respetively  for   three  and  six  days, respectively.    Lymphocyte    cell   was   evaluated    between   two   to  five  weeks   after   Al vaccination.   Leucocyte   cells  like monocyte  and  neutrophyl   (heterophyl)   were  examined two days after Al vaccination.Result  of the  research  showed  that levamisole  treatment  pre  AI  vaccination  can highly  significant   increase  non  specific immune  response  with  remarkable   increase  in monocyte  cells.  But its effect to total of neutrophyle  cells did not significant.  Levamisole treatment  pre  Al  vaccination   Al  can  also  highly  significant   increase   celluler  specific immune  response  indicating  by a remarkable  increase  in lymphocyte   cells. Pembuatan pakan dalambentuk pellet dapat mengurangi pakan yang terbuang (sering terjadi jika pakan berbentuk serbuk),meningkatkan konsumsi,daya cerna dan produktivitas ternak. Upaya pendampingan melalui programIpteks bagi Masyrakat (IbM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pada peternak dalam menyusunformulasi pakan kambing PE dengan membuat pellet dalam 2 macam perlakuan berdasarkankonsentrasi air yang dicampurkan pada bahan baku pakan.Bahan baku pakan yang digunakan dalam penyusunan pakan pellet meliputi : Tepung Ikan,Minyak Ikan, Bekatul, Bungkil kelapa sawit, Tepung terigu, Pollard, Slurry Sapi dan Tetes. Alat-alatpenunjang berupa ember, air, pengaduk, blender dan Mesin Pellet. Proses pembuatan meliputi :Bahan pakan, diblender sampai halus dicampur sampai homogen, ditambahkan perlakuan air sebanyak1/6 dan 1/4 dari berat bahan baku. Masing-masing perlakuan diaduk dengan bahan baku pakan.Pengadukan dilakukan sampai tercampur semua. Selanjutnya adonan dimasukkan dalam mesinpellet untuk dicetak dan diperoleh bentuk batangan. Variabel yang diamati meliputi kualitas fisikseperti warna, bentuk dan konsistensi serta palatabilitas ternak terhadap pakan tersebut.Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan perlakuan yang diberi air sebanyak 1/6 dari berat bahan bakupakan, warna pelletnya kehitaman, bentuknya tidak kompak (mudah hancur), konsistensinya kurangpadat dan palatabilitas kambing terhadap pakan tersebut rendah. Sedangkan yang diberi air 1/4 dariberat bahan baku pakan warnanya cerah, bentuknya kompak (tidak mudah hancur), konsistensipadat dan palatablitas kambing terhadap pakan tersebut tinggi. Berdasarkan kedua perlakuan tersebutdisimpulkan, dalam pembuatan pellet sebaiknya menggunakan air sebanyak 1/4 dari berat bahanbaku.Kata Kunci : formulasi pakan, pellet, kambing PE.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of daun sirih (Piper betle leaf ) and meniran(Phyllanthus niruri) ointment to decrease the number of bacteria in milk of subclinical mastitis ofdairy cows have been conducted on a dairy farm in Pujon and in the Faculty of Agriculture-AnimalHusbandry Muhammadiyah University of Malang. Experiment has done with completely randomizeddesign and five treatments: group negative controls (given sterile Nacl), positive control (givenantiseptic iodine), Piper betle leaf ointment, Phyllanthus niruri ointment and mixed ointment (Piperbetle and Phyllanthus niruri) leaves mixed with a ratio 50 percent each herbal. Results showed thenumber of bacteria in group treated with herbal ointment fewer than the group without treatment.The number of bacteria on day 20 (end of study) decline of 90.35 percent in dairy cow with havePiper betle leaf ointment; 87.92 percent with meniran ointment and 98.86 percent of the grouphave mixed (Piper betle leaf and Phyllanthus niruri) ointment and the group receiving iodinereached 98.86 percent.

The bacteria used in testing this ointment is Staphylococcusaureus.Experiment using completely randomized design with factorial pattern (3x4) with 3 (three)replications. The first factor is packaging material consisting of three (3) treatment of plastic bottles,glass and cans as well as the second factor is differences in storage duration of 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks.Variable that measured the inhibition of bacterial growth herbal ointment. Result of the researchshowed that antimastitis ointment in plastic packaging, glass and cans until day 56 still can inhibitbacterial growth. Abstract

Dusun Karangjambe Desa Beji terdapat 250 KK, 50 KK diantaranya memiliki 153 sapi perah, umumnya lokasi kandang berdampingan dengan rumah sedangkan limbah ternak dibiarkan menumpuk di dekat kandang dan dibuang ke sungai yang kemudian mencemari Iingkungan berdampak pada kerusakan lingkungan. Limbah ternak yang dihasilkan di dusun Karangjambe desa Beji sekitar 1,5 ton/hari dan 153 sapi perah merupakan potensi biogas dan pupuk organik yang besar. Permanfaatan limbah tersebut dapat terwujud dengan memberikan pendampingan cara pengolahan limbah ternak kepada peternak yang selama ini belum banyak memperoleh pengetahuan dan pengalaman untuk itu. Pendampingan ini dilakukan selama 6 bulan dengan beberapa tahapan. Tahapan pertama berupa sosialisasi dan pengenalan teknologi pengolahan limbah. Tahap kedua pelatihan dan pendampingan perancangan serta perakitan instalasi biogas. Tahap ketiga uji coba dan pendampingan penggunaan instalasi biogas dan pupuk organik. Output dan hasil pendampingan ini adalah telah dibuat 3 unit biogas untuk 3 rumah tangga peternak yang telah beroperasi dengan baik dan telah dihasilkan pupuk organik 150 kg/hari. Peternak di desa Beji telah menyadari pentingnya pengolahan limbah ternak dikarenakan dapat menghasilkan pupuk organik, biogas, dan lingkungan sekitar ternak juga kandang menjadi lebih bersih, lebih sehat. Diharapkan dan hasil pendampingan ini, peternak-peternak yang lain akan membuat instalasi biogas dan pupuk organik secara mandiri agar tercipta suatu keuntungan yang berlipat selain lingkungan desa Beji bersih dan sehat ada manfaat dan penggunaan biogas dan penggunaan pupuk organik.

KUALITAS FISIK GARLIC OIL DAN POTENSINYA SEBAGAIANTIMIKROBA STREPTOCOCCUS AGALACTIAEPENYEBAB MASTITIS PADA SAPI PERAHLili ZalizarStaf Pengajar Jurusan Produksi Ternak, Fakultas Pertanian PeternakanUniversitas Muhammadiyah Malangemail: 1) lilizalizarthahir@yahoo.comABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the physical quality of garlic oil preparation with a carrier oil type and duration of the different savings and to determine potential as an antibacterial preparation have been made in the Livestock Department of Animal Health Laboratory Muhammadiyah University of Malang. This experiment uses two types of treatment are the type of carrier oil and storage time. The treatment consists of the type first carrier oil of garlic in olive oil (A1) of garlic in coconut oil; third treatment (A2) garlic in oil palm. The treatment consists of a long storage time 1 month storage (B1), storage for 2 months (B2) and storage for 3 months (B3). All treatment was repeated 3 (three) times. Variable measured in this study is the physical quality include odor, color, consistency, turbidity and microbiological quality: Minimum Inhibitory concentration (MIC) and Kill Minimum Concentration (KBM) against the test microorganisms S.agalactiae . Concentrations of garlic oil preparation is checked against the MIC and KBM from start 1.5%, 3.12%, 6.25%, 12.5%, 25%, 50% and 100%. From the results of this study concluded that the stock garlic oil with coconut oil carriers have better physical properties and durable storage. Garlic preparations with a carrier oil coconut oil have the power to kill the inhibition and higher against bacteria Sterptococcus agalactiae, which is one of the bacteria that cause mastitis in dairy cows.Key word : garlic oil, physical properties, antibacterial
