Abstract

Studi perilaku dan analisis status darah  celepuk jawa (Otus angelinae)  dengan pemberian serbuk kunyit merupakan langkah awal dalam usaha penangkaran.  Empat ekor Otus angelinae betina dan 4 ekor jantan dengan bobot 9 g. Otus angelinae, masing-masing dibagi dalam 4 kelompok, yaitu kelompok K0: Otus angelinae betina kontrol,  K1: : Otus angelinae jantan kontrol, P0 : Otus angelinae betina yang diberi suplemen serbuk kunyit 108 mg/ekor/ hari yang dicampur dalam pakan, P1 : Otus angelinae jantan yang diberi suplemen serbuk kunyit 108 mg/ekor/ hari yang dicampur dalam pakan  Diamati perilaku dan kondisi fisiologis dengan menganalisis komponen kimia darah yaitu  kadar hemoglobin, jumlah eritrosit, jumlah leukosit, pH darah, deferensial leukosit meliputi jumlah sel neutrofil, eosinofil, basofil, limfosit dan monosit, kadar kolesterol LDL,HDL, trigliserida, glukosa darah, SGPT,SGOT yang diambil pada akhir perlakuan. Dilakukan analisis deskriptif terhadap perilaku dan kondisi fisilogis  Otus angelinae. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  pemberian suplemen serbuk kunyit tidak mempengaruhi perilaku celepuk jawa. Perbedaan perilaku terjadi pada siang dan malam hari selama dalam kandang. Perilaku siang hari: banyak istirahat, tidak nafsu makan, sangat waspada terhadap gangguan, sedangkan perilaku pada malam hari sangat agresif, makan lebih aktif. Pemberian serbuk kunyit dapat mempertahankan status fsiologis normal Otus angelinae jantan maupun betina.

Abstract

Ducks is one of poultry producer eggs that potential in Indonesia. Research about ducks eggs quality which includes egg yolk index (IKT), haugh unit (HU) and eggs weight local ducks in central java very important to know the genetic ability to ducks from each region and as an attempt to provide and improve the quality of  foodstuffs. The purpose of the research was analyze eggs quality from local breeds in Central Java that is Tegal ducks, Magelang ducks and Pengging ducks, viewed from the value IKT, HU and weight eggs. Ducks used in this research are raised in the hall breeding and raising ducks satker non ruminant Banyubiru, Ambarawa. The research was done by measuring egg quality from each ducks that was six month. Data  were  analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the differentiating factor is the type of ducks. If the data were analyzed significantly different, then do a further test using the Least Significant Differences Test (LSDt) at 95% confidence level. The results showed that ducks eggs Magelang has the heaviest weight  copared with Tegal ducks and Pengging ducks. Eggs quality data include IKT and HU showed no  significantly different from each ducks. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of white light treatment, red light, curcumin with white light and curcumin with red light on the parent to the eating and drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This study uses 16 magelang ducklings consisting of 4 treatments. The observations in this study were from 4 groups namely A.1B1 which is the duckling of the original treatment given white light, A1B2 which is the duck of the parent treatment given red light, A2B1 which is the duck of the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light, and A2B1 which is a duck from the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light. Parameters measured in this study were data of eating behavior and data of drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This research is analyzed by descriptive analysis. The conclusions of this study are eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch children duck treated from the parent who was given a white light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the afternoon in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch ducks after treatment of the mother given red light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the morning in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas duck treated from the parent who was given curcumin and white light that decreased the frequency of eating in the afternoon while the frequency of drinking tends to decline throughout the day in the second week as well as eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas ducklings treated from the parent who was given curcumin and red light that increased the frequency of eating throughout the day at week II and decreased the frequency of drinking during the day on week II.Key words: feeding behavior, drinking behavior, magelang duck, curcumin, red light and white light

Abstract

This research aimed to determine differences in  hepatocyte cells after feeding saturated fatty acid and unsaturated fatty acid. Elevated level of fatty acid may contribute to damage of celluar hepatocytes. This research used 25 white rat. The method applied was Completely Randomized Design in which the factor was five levels of VCO and Olive Oil namely P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5. P1was the control group, P2 was a group with 10 mL Olive Oil /kg feed. P3 was a group with 5 mL Olive Oil /kg feed. P4 was a group with 10 mL VCO /kg feed. P5 was a group with 5 mL VCO /kg feed.  Each group repeated five times. Feed and water were given ad libitum for four weeks. Abstract

Magelang duck was one of the most productive local poultry as an egg producer. Improvements in the management of aves cultivation could be done with the addition of curcumin and light. Curcumin and light were able to affect the behavior of feeding and drinking. This study aimed to analyze the increases of feeding and drinking behavior of magelang duck (Anas javanica) which was fed with curcumin with red and white lighting. This study used 12 female ducks that were 17 weeks old. The study consisted of 4 groups: A0B0 (white light and curcumin 0 mg), A0B1 (white light and curcumin 18 mg), A1B0 (red light and curcumin 0 mg), and A1B1 (red light and curcumin 18 mg). The parameters observed in this study were the frequency of feeding and drinking of magelang ducks (Anas javanica). This research was analyzed by descriptive method. The conclusion of the study was that the giving of red light and white light and curcumin in the curcumin has not potential to improve the duck feeding activity in the stationary phase, while giving white light has potential to improve the behavior of drinking of magelang ducks.Key words: feeding and drinking behavior, Magelang duck, curcumin, red and white light.

Abstract

Kombucha tea beverage obtained by fermenting sweetened green tea for 12 days with Acetobacter xylinum and Saccharomyces which produce various kinds of organic acids, vitamins, and acts as a probiotic. Kombucha tea role as growth promoter is to enhance the metabolic processes in the digestive system of broiler, so that the nutrients can be absorbed and fulfilled properly for optimal growth and development. The research was conducted from September to October 2014 in the Laboratory of Biological Structure and Function, Diponegoro University. Posterior limb (femur-tibiotarsus) meat-bone ratio analysis was used to investigate the effects of kombucha tea on the productivity of broiler chicken. A total of 20 broiler chickens were randomly divided into 4 treatment concentrations ( 0%, 10%, 20%, and 40% of kombucha tea in drinking water) for 32 days. Statistical analysis using ANOVA at 0,05 significance level and Duncan?s Multiple Range Test showed significantly different results on body weight and water intake, while feed intake, meat weight, bone weight and meat-bone ratio showed no significant results. It can be concluded from this study that the decrease of broiler chicken body weight due to consumption of 40% kombucha tea concentration in drinking water, do not cause a decrease in posterior limb meat and bone weight so that the posterior limb meat-bone ratio were not significantly different. Key words: Kombucha tea, broiler chicken, posterior limb, meat-bone ratio.

Elevated level of triglycerides can lead to cardiovascular disease.This research used 25 white rat. Abstract

Local ducks in Indonesia there was several kinds, for example Tegal ducks, Magelang ducks and Pengging duck each having morphology different of duck. Research on the quality meat of ducks that includes ash content, water content, carbohydrate content, fat content, protein content, and muscle cell diameter of femoral ducks important to know quality meat of each duck. This study aimed to analyzed the differences types of ducks on the chemical content of meat and femoral muscle histology of diameter cell at Tegal ducks, Magelang ducks and Pengging ducks. Ducks were used in this study maintained in the Central Breeding and Raising Ducks Work Unit Non Ruminant Livestock Banyubiru, Ambarawa. The duck six month old was analyzed chemical content of meat and measuring diameter of femoral muscle cells. Duck samples taken from three different types of ducks that Tegal duck,Pengging duck and Magelang duck, of each type of sample taken many ducks as 6 tails. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If the data were analyzed contained a real difference, continued by the Least Significant Differences Test (LSDT) at 95% confidence level. The results showed that no significant difference in all variables, from the result has been concluded that differences type of ducks not affect the chemical contents of duck meat and diameter of femoral muscle cells. Keywords: Local Ducks in Central Java, Quality of Meat, Muscle Cell Diameter Femoral Ducks.

Abstract

Free radicals in cigarette smoke may interfere the balanced of body molecules and cause the damage of hepatic cells. This issues may be prevented by using red fruit oil (Pandanus conoideus L) due to its antioxidant content. This study aimed to evaluate the structure and physiological conditions of liver when the red fruit oil given to the rat that exposed by cigarette smoke. This study carried out for 35 days with female white rats as the sample. The samples were 20 female white rats divided into four groups: P0 (negative control), P1 (positive control), P2 (exposed by cigarette smoke with administration of red fruit oil 0,1 ml/BB), P3 (exposed by cigarette smoke with administration of red fruit oil 0,2 ml/weight). The data of ALT, AST, cell diameter, and hepatic weight were analyzed by using analysis of variants (ANOVA). The results showed that administration of red fruit oil containing antioxidants can reduce levels of ALT, AST, hepatocyte diameter, and increase liver weight, although the difference is not significant compared to the control group and does not affect the eating and drinking behavior so as not to affect the bodys metabolism. The conclusion of red fruit oil can reduce ALT, AST, hepatocyte diameter and increase hepatic weight due to exposure to cigarette smoke, although the difference is not significant to the control group, and does not affect the eating and drinking behavior, so good for consumption because it gives a beneficial effect on health liver organ.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar  kolesterol dan vitamin A dalam telur itik Pengging, itik Tegal, dan itik Magelang.  Seleksi sampel telur itik Pengging, itik Tegal, dan itik Magelang dilakukan di Balai Pembibitan dan Budidaya Ternak Non Ruminansia (BPBTNR). Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar kolesterol dan vitamin A dalam telur. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu itik Pengging, itik Magelang, dan itik Tegal dan 3 ulangan. Jika ada perbedaan antar perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata terhadap kadar kolesterol dan vitamin A pada telur itik Pengging dengan itik Tegal. Hasil yang sama juga terlihat yaitu perbedaan antara itik Magelang dengan itik Tegal, di sisi lain, itik Pengging dan itik Magelang tidak terlihat perbedaan yang nyata. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa telur itik Tegal baik untuk dikonsumsi karena mempunyai kadar kolesterol lebih rendah. Kata kunci: kolesterol; vitamin A; telur Itik
