Abstract

The goal of this research and development was to have a didactical design from Probability Theory subject in Indonesia’s Junior High School. The interest of this research was to answer the theacher-student interaction, the student-student interaction, and the student-subject material interaction along the learning process.  This research had put seven steps from 10 steps of  Dick dan Carey research steps.  The data collection was from observations of those interactions. The result had shown that the design was well done in interaction but it was not good enough in problem exercise. It still needs more research to explore the problem exercise that can improve the student’s thinking ability

Abstract

This qulitative-descriptive research was aimed to know the student’s errors in solving word problems in mathematic learning and the cause of the errors. The subjects were students of VII A class of Junior High School state 20 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014. The data was collected by test and interview. The data analysis was done by data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the research results, it was known that students errors in solving word problem were understand the problem, make model of mathematics, do counting, and make conclusions. It was caused by the lack interest and motivation of students towards mathematics.Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada pembelajaran matematika dan penyebab kesalahan tersebut.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita yaitu kesalahan memahami soal, membuat model matematika, melakukan perhitungan, dan menarik kesimpulan.  Hal ini disebabkan oleh rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa terhadap pelajaran matematika.                                  Kata kunci: kesalahan, matematika, penyelesaian soal cerita

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research was aimed to find the percentage of students who have difficulty in solving word problems and it’s cause. The subject of this research was students of VIII B class of SMP Negeri 2 Banjit. The data were obtained by test and interview. According to the result of research, 7 of 28 students or 25% of students have difficulty in solving word problems. Based on the data analysis, the main cause of it’s difficulty was students did not master the prior concepts as many as 20%. Another factors which give influence were (1) physical factor as many as 12,5%, (2) psychology factor as many as 62,5%, and (3) exhaustion factor as many as 25%.Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dan penyebabnya. Subjek peneli­ti­­­­­­­­­an ini­ adalah siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 2 Banjit. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan wawancara. Ber­dasar­­kan hasil penelitian, 7 dari 28 siswa atau 25% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Berdasarkan analisis data, penyebab utama kesulitan tersebut adalah siswa tidak menguasai konsep-konsep sebelumnya sebesar 20%. Faktor lain yang mempengaruhinya adalah (1) faktor jasmaniah sebesar 12,5%, (2) faktor psikologis sebesar 62,5%, dan (3) faktor kelelahan sebesar 25%.Kata kunci: analisis, kesulitan, soal cerita

Abstract

This was a quasi experimental research that aimed to find out the influence of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type towards student’s understanding of the mathematical concepts. The implementation of Think Pair Share includes three stages, that are Thinking, Pairing, and Sharing. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII in even semester at  SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik school  year 2012/2013 that distributed into five classes. The samples were students of VIIIA and VIIIC class who taken by purposive sampling technique with posttest only control design. The research data was obtained by tests of mathematical conceptual understanding. Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type influenced to students mathematical conceptual understanding of students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik school year 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pelaksanaan Think Pair Share meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu Thinking, Pairing, dan Sharing. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIA dan VIIIC yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan menggunakan desain penelitian posttest only control design. Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the increasing of student’s mathematical representation skill which used TSTS cooperative learning compared to discuss learning. The population of this research was all grade eight students of Al-kautsar Junior High School of Bandar Lampung with samples were students of VIIIC and VIID class which were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical representation skill. The conclusion of this research was TSTS cooperative learning could increase the student’s mathematical representation skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif TSTS dibandingkan pembelajaran diskusi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Al-Kautsar Bandar Lampung dengan sampel siswa kelas VIII C dan VIII D yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan representasi matematis. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran kooperatif TSTS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: diskusi, representasi matematis, TSTS

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to investigate the increasing of students’ mathematical communication skill by the implementation of cooperative learning model of TSTS type. The design of this research  was the pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research  was all students of grade 8 of SMP Negeri 21 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2013/2014 as many as 192 students which was distributed into 8 classes. This research samples were students of VIIIF and VIIIG class who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Based on the result of hypothesis test, it was found that the increasing of students’ mathematical communication skill who followed cooperative learning model of TSTS type was equal to conventional learning. Thus, it could be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model of TSTS type couldn’t increase of students’ mathematical communication skill. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS. Desain penelitian ini adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 21 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 sebanyak 192 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIF dan VIIIG yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TSTS sama dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together type towards student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. This research used post-test only control design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMP Plus Tri Sukses Natar in the academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this research were  students of VIIIB and VIIIC class which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. Based on the data analysis, students mathematical conceptual understanding by NHT learning was better than conventional learning. Thus, it was concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together type affects towards student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together terhadap pemahaman matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Plus Tri Sukses tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIB dan VIIIC yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran NHT lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

This quasi experimentalresearch aims to knowthe effectivenes of cooperative learning of Student Teams Achievement Division(STAD) type considered by student’s mathematicalconceptual understanding. This reseach uses apretest-posttest control groupdesign. The population ofthis research was eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in the academic year2012/2013 as many as 320 students who distributed into nine classes. Sample was taken by purposive sampling. Based on data analysis, it was gotten that gain of student’s mathematical conceptual understanding of in cooperative learning of STAD type was as same as conventional learning, and also the study completeness percentage in cooperative learning of STAD type doesn’t reach the target. The conclusion was cooperative learning STAD type was not effective considered by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk me­nge­tahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipeStudent Teams Achievement Division (STAD) ditinjau dari pema­haman konsep matematis siswa.  Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design.  Populasi dalam pene-itian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 320 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas.  Sampelpenelitian diambilmenggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh bahwa peningkatan pemahaman kon­sep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD sama dengan peningkatan  pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada pembelajaran konvensionaldanpersentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD tidak mencapai target. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata Kunci : efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematis, STAD

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effect of the contextual approach towards students mathematical problem solving ability. This research used a post-test only control design. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of MTs Al Hikmah Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this research were students of VIII.A and VIII.D which were taken by purposive sampling. Based on the result of hypothesis test, it was gotten conclusion that the implementation of the contextual approach affects towards student’s mathematical problem solving skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan post-test only control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap MTs Al Hikmah Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Abstract
