Combination of Hierarchical and Non-Hierarchical Cluster Method for Segmentation of Web Visitors

Abstract

Clustering is one of the important part in web usage miningfor the purpose of segmenting visitors. This action is very important for web personalization orweb modification. In this paper, we perform clustering of the web visitors using a combination of methods of hierarchical and non-hierarchical clustering toward web log data. Hierarchical clustering method used to determine the number of clusters, and non-hierarchical clustering method is used in forming clusters. The stages of cluster analysis are preceded by pre-processing the data and factor analysis. With this approach, the owner of the web is more effective at finding access patterns of web visitors and can have new knowledge about visitors segmentation. From the test applied on ITSs web log data, 6 clusters of web visitors are resulted. Among the 6 cluster, cluster 3 has the biggest number of members. This information can be useful for web management to pay attention on members behavioral patterns of the 3rd clusters either to make personalization or modification on the web. The test results show the feasibility and efficiency of application of this method.

Abstract

e-Government is one of instruments in electronic-based government implementation in order to improve the public service quality effectively and efficienctly. For that purpose, the government has been released the National Strategy Policy and Development of e-Government through President Instruction No. 3 of 2003 which is the framework for all the technical policy e-Government operations. The availability of the governments official website is one of crutial public services. West Sumatera is one of province that already have government official website including all districts in this area. This official website was tested and researched based on regulation. From this research concluded that e-Government application on West Sumatera Province is still on preparing and maturation stage of 4 stages that proclaimed in President Instruction No. 3 of 2003.

Abstract

Factor analysis is a multivariate method that is used to analyze correlation among indicator variables so that it can be mapped into some factors. The hyperlink of website’s analysis by using factor analysis will reveal influential factors on website quality according to hyperlink variables chosen. Due to this analysis, top 15 university wbsites from webometrics of january 2011 edition rank had been selected as the research objects. The hyperlink data  was gained by utilizing teo best searching engines (google.com and yahoo.com). The research indicates that the role of external hyperlink, the total of WIF and the total hyperlink factor of website determines the quality of a website from the hyperlink perspective. This research also result in a new rank of university in hopes to be one of evaluation tool sand bench marks the success of the website in accordance with hyperlink analysis.

Abstract

Deaf people are people who lose either their partial or complete hearing ability which will make the sense of hearing unusable. The problem encountered when meeting a deaf person is unable to communicate well. To solve this problem, it is necessary to build a virtual word application that is android based to help communicate with the deaf people. This app uses 3D virtual characters as a voice-translating medium into a sign language. The sign language is converted to 3D animation to make it easier to understand and attractive. The sign language system used in this application is the SIBI system (Sistem Isyarat Bahasa Indonesia). This application is built by using Unity 3D software with C # and Java programming language, while to create 3D animation is using Blender software. From the test results of this application, obviously it can facilitate the communication with the deaf people.   Keywords: word virtual application, deaf communication, 3D sign language animation, SIBI, android.

Abstract

Di era kemajuan teknologi, sistem keamanan bukan hanya dituntut memberikan kondisi aman tetapi juga memberikan kemudahan akses, kemudahan monitor dan kontrol jarak jauh. Ketidakamanan ruangan seperti kasus pencurian maupun kebakaran dapat terjadi terutama pada ruangan yang tidak dilengkapi dengan sistem keamanan dan penjagaan khusus. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, perlu dikembangkan sistem keamanan yang dapat diakses dan dimonitor dari jarak jauh serta memberikan peringatan dini terhadap indikasi awal terjadinya bahaya menggunakan smartphone. Pengembangan sistem dilakukan melalui tahap pembuatan perangkat lunak dan perangkat keras. Perangkat keras terdiri dari Arduino Mega 2560 untuk mengatur sistem, Database Server MySQL, CC3000 Wifi Shield sebagai perangkat komunikasi antara arduino dengan server, Limit Switch untuk mendeteksi adanya dorongan paksa pada pintu, MQ-2 mengukur adanya kebocoran gas dalam ruangan, sensor DHT-11 untuk mengukur suhu ruangan, kamera VC0706 untuk menangkap gambar di area pintu. Aplikasi android sebagai antarmuka sistem untuk mengubah status kunci dan memonitor kondisi ruangan. Notifikasi peringatan terhadap indikasi bahaya kebocoran gas dikirim ke smartphone pengguna dengan menampilkan nilai kandungan gas. Pesan peringatan adanya dorongan paksa pada pintu dilengkapi dengan fitur untuk menampilkan hasil tangkapan kamera. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah telah berhasil dibuat sistem keamanan ruangan dimana akses kunci pintu dan monitoring ruangan dapat dilakukan melalui aplikasi android yang terpasang pada smartphone.
