Abstract

Subak irrigation system beside as an appropriate technological system, but as acultural system as well. This fenomenon indicate that basically subak irrigationsystem is a technological system that has been developed as a part of cultural society.Because subak system is viewed as a technological system, so this system has anability to be transformed. Meanwhile, limitation of the ability of subak irrigationsystem to overcome the extreem conditions, basically can be solved through theharmony and togetherness, based on the Tri Hita Karana (THK) principles as a basicof subak system. Futhermore, through inverse technique, it can be seen the ability ofsubak system, that can be transformed. And then, through Fuzzy Set Theory, it can beseen the dominance or ranks of the all elements of subak system, which are also as aconsideration on the transformation process.

Abstract

Subak system is a custom law community with socio-technical-religious characteristics,consists of a group of farmers that manage irrigation water at their irrigarted area (sawah).The existance of subak irrigation systems are dynamic, due to the socio-cultural conditionsof the society. Subak as a irrigation system which is based on Tri Hita Karana (THK)concept, is implemented on the system of irrigation in Bali. Its based on socio-technicalconcept which technologically integrated with the socio-cultural of the society.Furthermore, the form of subak system as an appropriate technology, is implemented onthe form of thinking-pattern, social system, and the development of artefax of the system.The final goals of the system are in order to achieve the harmony and togetherness in theirrigation management.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Basically, agrotourism is to place the primary sector (agricultural sector) in the tertiary sector (tourism sector), in order to increase farmers income. Farmers in agricultural sector have to get some benefits from the agrotourism activities. Beside that, agrotourism may secure the agricultural sustainability, and avoid the agricultural sector from the marginalization process. Aftermoment, there are some opinions that tourist interest tend to see natural activities, and agrotourism activities. In Bali, there are some agrotourism regions with several different management models. That is way, in this article have been explained about the general model of agrotourism development in Bali, and hope there are usefulness to the other regions in Indonesia. Key words : Agriculture, Agrotourism, and Agrotourism model. ABSTRAK Pada dasarnya agrowisata adalah menempatkan sektor primer (sektor pertanian) di sektor tersier (sektor pariwisata) yang bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Petani dan sektor pertanian akan mendapat keuntungan dari aktivitas agrowisata. Agrowisata juga mampu menjaga keberlajutan sektor pertanian dan menghindarkan sektor pertanian dari proses marginalisasi. Ada banyak alasan bagi wisatawan tertarik untuk melihat keindahan alam dan melakukan berbagai aktivitas di alam terbuka termasuk menikmati aktivitas agrowisata. Sejumlah kawasan di Bali kini sedang dikembangkan sebagai kawasan agrowisata, namun model pengelolaan agrowisata yang satu dengan yang lainnya sangat berbeda. Keberagaman model pengelolaan agrowisata itu menjadi bahan kajian untuk menyusun model pengembangan agrowisata yang diberlakukan dalam kondisi yang berbeda di masing-masing obyek agrowisata tersebut. Artikel ini memaparkan secara gamblang bagaimana model pengembangan agrowisata di Bali dan diharapkan dapat digunakan untuk pengelolaan agrowisata di daerah lain seluruh Indonesia. Abstract

Agricultural development need impowered farmers. Based on those farmers, the farmers will know their problems, and the solution of its problems. Beside that, the farmers also will know how to use any resources in its surroundings, in order to stimulate the agricultural development or their prosperity. In relation with how to get impowered farmers, so the all stackholders  especially the government need more attention to the agricultural sektor and farmers. Basically, the impowerment of farmers is a cultural activities. If its assumption is true, so to be needed the activities on thinking pattern, sosial, and artefax respetively.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Basically now, the water available is scarcer. Meanwhile, the population growth that occurs so fast, which is followed by increasing of public prosperity and development of other sectors beyond agricultural sector, causing the increase in water need, both quantitatively and qualitatively. That is why; the water need is very competitive among sectors. Generally, in the field the water need for farmers often to be defeated by the other sectors (especially by the tourism sector). The same situations is feeled by farmers in subaks, who getting water from the Kedewatan Dam, in Sub Regency of Ubud, Regency of Gianyar. Some international hotels in the head of the dam freely take water from the river, and moreover in the tail of the dam, rafting activities and the Drinking Water of The Government of Denpasar Company often borrowing water from the dam. Therefore, the water available for the subaks is disturbed. According to those conditions, is very important to motivate the all head of subaks those getting water from the Kedewatan Dam to organize themselves in the institution of subak coordination body (subak-gde). Anyhow, that organization is important to strengthen the subak position in their negotiation activities with the outsider. In these community service activities, basically the all of subak is very agree to construct the subak coordination body (subak-gde).

Abstract

Along with the development of the tourism in Bali, one of the phenomena occurs was that the land conversion to the non-agricultural land and pollution, and increased water demand not only for irrigation. These conditions affect the sustainability of the subak system. One strategy to support the sustainability of the subak system is the synergy between agriculture (Subak) to tourism, which developed agroecotourism on the subak system. It must consider the physical and social environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the existing condition of Subak in Bali and if it made the development agroecotourism on the subak systems. This is about the quality of irrigation water, the physical condition of irrigation facilities, subak system facilities, and socio-cultural conditions of subak system. Water quality in Subak Anggabaya, Subak Lodtunduh, and Subak Padanggalak with the development of Kertalangu agrotourism, is in good condition. It could be argued that if made ??the development of agroecotourism on the subak systems, irrigation water quality can still be maintained in good condition are used for agriculture. The value of physical conditions on Subak Anggabaya was 2.00 (moderate) and at the Subak Lodtunduh are 2.00. With the development of agroecotourism on the subak systems be 2.21 on Subak Anggabaya and 2.23 on Subak Lodtunduh. A Socio cultural condition on subak system management to support the development of agroecotourism area, at Subak Anggabaya was 2.00 (moderate) and at the Subak Lodtunduh are 2.23 (between moderate and good). With expected agroecotourism visitors activities can provide positive influence (3.00) to the local community and the socio cultural conditions of subak system can increase or better.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Subak Role in Agricultural Activities Rice Rice Fields Subak as an organization that regulates the distribution of water in the rice is one of Balis cultural heritage that has been recognized worldwide. Where existence is in dangered due to start behavioral changes manners subak.The purpose of this study was to determine the role of subak in rice farming activity seen from the five subak role. The approach taken in this study with descriptive qualitative method by conducting in-depth interviews about the problems facing subak seen from the five subak role in rice farming activities. The results showed the role of subak in rice farming activities begin reduced. If this is going to endanger the continued existence of subak. There fore, it needs to be more participation of farmers to assist in ferforming subak rice farming activities. Subak role in the distribution and operation of Dalem Subak irrigation water, there is a problem due to lack of attention to soil conditions that cause distriubusi Dalem Subak irrigation water is not adequate for the needs of area farmers fields.Subak role in the operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, the results of in-depth interviews with key informants. Abstract

AbstractThis paper introduces some ritual activities performed by individual farmer within subak system. Subak is farmers managed irrigation system which has an irrigation water source irrigated to certain compound of rice fields and hasa particular temple. The ritual ceremony is a part of important thing of Tri Hita Karana (THK) implementation, namelyparhyangan aspect presenting the harmonious relationship between farmer and the God. The other components of THK are pawongan (the harmonious relationship among subak’s members) through the implementation of subak’s regulation (awig-awig); and palemahan presenting the harmonious relationship between farmer and environment through the rice field terrace maintenance. There are 16 activities of ritual ceremonies individually performed by farmer as subak’s member starting from the ritual of fetching irrigation water until the post-harvest ritual ceremony. A side from this, thereare also ritual ceremonies conducted by the all members at the subak level. Subak also has ritual ceremonies carried out together with the other subaks in the temples located near the dam, lake and others. These ritual activities constitute as acultural practices conducted by subak. Therefore, subak has been regarded as the keeper of Balinese culture by implementing THK, thus UNESCO has acknowledged subak asworld cultural heritage.

Abstract

AbstractThe paper discusses the role and contribution of subakmember (farmers) to the culture. Generally known that thesubak system in Bali has been recognized as world heritagesince year 2012. The recognition indicating that subak isa traditional organization originally existing in Bali, andtake the important role and contribution as a buffer ofBali culture. Very important to note that the core of subakculture are harmony and togetherness. It is inline withbasic philosophy of subak, namely Tri Hita Karana (THK),the three ways to obtain happiness. The world and humanbeing certain need harmony and togetherness. There isthe contribution of subak to the world, in term of how toimplement the philosophy (Tri Hita Karana), especiallyin the daily agricultural activities. Widely known that theexistence of subak is strongly supported by farmers, as amember of subak. Farmers is a core of subak organization.Therefore is needed strong attention to the farmers life, inorder to stimulate subak sustainability.

Abstract

The cornerstone of Subak system which used to managing the organization is harmony foundation of harmony and togetherness, which manifest by Tri Hita Karana concept (THK) Parhyangan, Pawongan, and Palemahan. Noble values contained in Subak make UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) determine subak as a World Cultural Heritage (WBD). This research aims to analysis the implementation of THK for sustainability of subak system. The analysis techinique used for this is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of matrix inverse analysis is the relation between all the sub-system from system technology and all the culture sub-system could describe subak sustainability and the application of Tri Hita Karana (THK) concept at Subak Wangaya Betan. The result of matrix inverse analysis is describe the sustainability capabilities of Tri Hita Karana at Subak Wangaya Betan by 30,27%. This result is caused by the elements still lacking in its implementation on an ongoing basis. As expected, Tri Hita Karana concept which prioritize harmony and togetherness could be applied to all the components of subak. Application of Tri Hita Karana at subak could be improved with the aim to sustain Subak Wangaya Betan activities that have been executed.
