Abstract

Indigenous people in Bali majority embraced Hinduism, who hold patrilinealsystem. In this connection the kinship system appears to have strong adhesive ofthe Hindu religion, which gives place to the importance of descendants (sons) in afamily. Adopted patrilineal kinship system, The boys which is future expectationsof family as the successor of offspring in the family. However, these expectationsmay be different, when the boy was can not be born and even there a marriedcouple a completely not able to produce offspring. In these circumstances,Hinduism with the customary law in Bali appear as the "antidote" namely by theway for hold line-progressors descent or family among others by the way raised asingle daughter as SentanaRajeg (purusa/male) a marriage done with nyeburinmarriage.The system is can be considered as exception of patrilineal system infamily law in Bali, but when viewed more in-depth essentially not so is, becausethe woman who have made nyeburin marriage have the right as heir in his family.In fact, it is not always easy to seek a man who would nyeburin mating moreoverthe same religion. Abstract

One of the most important factors to improve the population quality is education.Udayana University is one of the oldest higher educations in Bali. The students are notonly coming from Bali, nor outside of Bali but also from overseas. The total of activestudents attending the education in Udayana University is 17.461. The recent data, fromthe last three years showed that there has been a quality improvement in terms ofeducation. This is proved by the tendency of improving Achievement Index Cumulative(IPK) for regular S1 as 3.05 in 2005, became 3.06 in 2006 and 3,14 in 2007.Apart from the success being mentioned above, Udayana University is still facingimportant problem related to the opportunity which is not taken by the student candidatesIt can be recorded that such opportunity (empty chair) in Unud is still very high (41%)although there was a declining number comparing to the last year data. Considering thefact that the number of SMU (high school) graduates tended to be high, it is importantto conduct research in order to find out the various factors slowing down the societyaccessibility to attend education in Udayana UniversityThe aims of this research are to find out the factors slowing down of the societyaccessibility to attend education in Udayana University. This research was conducted inthree outside cities of Bali, namely: Malang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. These three citieswere chosen due to be that they have been known as the centers of education cities. Byconducting research outside of Bali, it is expected to find out that there are realisticreasons why they did not choose Udayana University as the place to continue theireducation. The respondents from each city are (1) 80 persons in Yogyakarta; (2) 70persons in Surabaya and (3) 70 persons in MalangThe influencing factors are viewed from the culture system study, among others :mind-set system, social and artifact aspects. The respondents generally stated the basicconsiderations why they did not choose Unud are (i) education quality (41.4%); (ii)education cost (9.1%); (iii) supporting facilities (10.9%); (iv) working prospects (24.5%)and (v) academic atmosphere (14.1%)In relation to such finding, the main suggestions to be implemented that Unudshould soon improve the education quality. The main key to improve the education isto qualify the teaching staff. The teaching-learning process done by all of UdayanaUniversity teaching staff must be thoroughly controlled, based upon the providedstandard operational procedure

Abstract

ABSTRACT Basically now, the water available is scarcer. Meanwhile, the population growth that occurs so fast, which is followed by increasing of public prosperity and development of other sectors beyond agricultural sector, causing the increase in water need, both quantitatively and qualitatively. That is why; the water need is very competitive among sectors. Generally, in the field the water need for farmers often to be defeated by the other sectors (especially by the tourism sector).The same situations is feeled by farmers in subaks, who getting water from the Kedewatan Dam, in Sub Regency of Ubud, Regency of Gianyar. Some international hotels in the head of the dam freely take water from the river, and moreover in the tail of the dam, rafting activities and the Drinking Water of The Government of Denpasar Company often borrowing water from the dam. Therefore, the water available for the subaks is disturbed. According to those conditions, is very important to motivate the all head of subaks those getting water from the Kedewatan Dam to organize themselves in the institution of subak coordination body (subak-gde). Anyhow, that organization is important to strengthen the subak position in their negotiation activities with the outsider. In these community service activities, basically the all of subak is very agree to construct the subak coordination body (subak-gde).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Farmers’ Perception toward Awarding Degree Subak as World Cultural Heritage - Study Case in Subak Pulagan Tampaksiring District Gianyar Region Subak is the organization that regulates the irrigation system used in the rice field in Bali. Subak unique culture has an element of mutual support and the concept of Tri Hita Karana makes UNESCO decided to give awarding degree to subak as world cultural heritage. One of that subak is Subak Pulagan which one fed by the watershed (DAS) Pakerisan. Respondents in this research were 34 farmers taken from 160 farmers decided by random sampling method. Perceptions and expectations seen from three aspects, they’re mindset, social, and material aspects. Data analysis is done by descriptive – qualitative calculations using Likert scale. Perceptions result shown 83.63% or on good category. Almost all respondents said the response was excellent or agree with the statement in the questionnaires. Farmers´ perceptions based on aspects of mindset has score 73.53% or on good category, social aspect’s score is 90.76% or on very well category, and material aspects’s score is 86.62% which is on very good category. They have hopes to make farmer’s life better in the future. Based on this study it can be seen that the members of Subak Pulagan still need the things related to improving productivity and enhancing the quality of life in order to retain continuity subak. Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran pada materi momentum dan impuls melalui penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran digital dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan jenis pendekatan kualitatif. Subyek Penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Tondano. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument tes dan lembar observasi dalam bentuk ceklist untuk melihat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran serta keaktifan siswa didalam kelas. Analisa data pada tahap pelaksanaan siklus akhir menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan siswa secara klasikal mencapai 89%, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran 100% dan persentase keaktifan siswa 86,8%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran digital dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran pada materi momentum dan impuls. Kata Kunci: Efektivitas Pembelajaran, Perangkat Digital, Inkuiri Terbimbing   AbstractThe purpose of this research is improving the effectiveness of learning in momentum and impulse material by using the digital learning devices which combined with guided inquiry learning model. The design of this research is class action research with type of qualitative approach. The research subjects are students of class XI IPA 2 in SMA Negeri 1 Tondano. Data collection techniques using test instruments and observation sheet in the form of checklist to see the implementation of learning and student liveliness in the classroom. From the analysis of the data obtained at the implementation phase of the final cycle, classically student mastery achieved 89% while learning. implementation is 100% and percentage of student liveliness is 86.8%. This suggests that the using of digital learning devices combined with guided inquiry learning model can improve the effectiveness of learning in momentum and impulse material. Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA Fisika materi Gaya dan Penerapannya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berbasis Multimedia dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dan rancangan menggunakan Randomized Control GroupsPretest-Postest design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII semester genap yang berjumlah 175 siswa dan sampel yang diambil adalah 52 siswa yang dibagi dalam 2 kelas yang masing-masing berjumlah 26 siswa, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara mengadakan posttest sebagai hasil penelitian yang diolah dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok siswa dengan treatment model TPS berbasis Multimedia adalah 80,00 sehingga lebih tinggi dari pada rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok siswa dengan treatment konvensional 59,62 dan perbedaan rata-ratanya adalah thitung = 8.774 > ttabel =1,671. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berbasis multimedia dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan mengunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci : randomized control groups pretest-postest design, model pembelajaran, Think Pair Share (TPS), multimedia, konvensional. AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know about the differences of student learning achievement to subjects physical science Force and the application using cooperative learning with think pair share (TPS) model based Multimedia and conventional learning model. This research represent experiment technique using random pretest posttest control group design. The population was a semester grade VIII students, amounting to 175 students and the sample taken by 26 students, data collection is done by holding the posttest as a result of research than the analyzed processed by using t-test. The result of research showed that the average learning achievement of students group with TPS model based multimedia treatment is 80,00 more high  than  the average learning achievement of students group with conventional treatment  is 59,62 and the average of differences showed tcount = 8.774 > ttable = 1.671. The conclusion of this research there is the differences significant between the learning achievement of students group with Think Pair Share (TPS) model based multimedia treatment to compared with the learning achievement of students group with conventional learning model. Abstract

Subak is a customary law community that has the characteristics of socio­religious­agriculture, which represents far­ mers’ associations that manage an irrigation system in paddy fields. One characteristics of the subak system is of the Tri Hita Karana (THK) concept based community management system. Recently, due to development of tourism sector, some problems occur i.e. : (i) decreasing agricultural land area, (ii) declining youth’s interest in farming system caused by the prospect of an employment opportunities in tourism sector is more promising than a farmer, and (iii) others inter­ est contained to water beyond agriculture sector.The purpose of this study were to identified the strengths, weaknesses,  opportunities , and challenges faced by subak; find some alternative strategy to subak development solution; and find a solution strategy as an effort to support the development and sustainability of subak.In this research, the determination of an appropriate alternative strategy is done step by step. First, made a SWOT matrix, then based on the SWOT matrix, composed some of alternative strategies, and later is selection of alternative solution strategies that are considered most appropriate, are conducted using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In this study, AHP resolved by Criterium Decision Plus program version 3.0.The assessment using the AHP results that subak development as agroecotourism zone is the alternative strategy with higher value (0.471) compare to either massal tourism zone (0.157) or agricultural field zone (0.372). Through the de­velopment of subak as an agroecotourism zone, this alternative can support the sustainability of subak system amongBali tourism development, which is a synergy between tourism and agriculture.ABSTRAKSubak merupakan suatu masyarakat hukum adat yang memiliki karakteristik sosio­agraris­religius, yang merupakan perkumpulan petani yang mengelola air irigasi di lahan sawah. Satu keistimewaan dari sistem subak adalah bahwa pengelolaan subak berazaskan pada konsep Tri Hita Karana (THK). Namun seiring dengan berkembangnya pariwisata, terjadi fenomena antara lain : (i) berkurangnya lahan sawah akibat alih fungsi lahan; (ii) minat generasi muda menjadi petani semakin menurun karena prospek kesempatan kerja di bidang pariwisata lebih menjanjikan daripada menjadi petani, dan (iii) terdapat kepentingan lain terhadap air di luar sektor pertanian.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : mengidentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan tantangan yang dihadapi subak; me­ netapkan beberapa alternatif strategi untuk solusi pengembangan subak; dan menetapkan strategi solusi terpilih untuk pengembangan dan keberlanjutan sistem subak ditengah pesatnya perkembangan pariwisata Bali.Pada penelitian ini, penentuan alternatif strategi yang sesuai dilakukan secara bertahap. Tahap pertama dengan cara membuat Matriks SWOT. Tahap berikutnya, berdasarkan Matriks SWOT tersebut, disusun berbagai alternatif strategi. Selanjutnya, pemilihan  alternatif strategi solusi yang dianggap paling sesuai, dilakukan menggunakan Analitical Hi­ erarchy Process (AHP) yang diselesaikan dengan program Criterium Decision Plus Versi 3.0.Penilaian menggunakan AHP diperoleh hasil bahwa pengembangan subak sebagai daerah agroekowisata merupakan pilihan alternatif strategi yang mempunyai nilai (value) paling besar (0,471) dibandingkan dengan alternatif pengem­ bangan sebagai daerah wisata massal (0,157) maupun sebagai daerah pertanian (0,372). Dengan pengembangan subak sebagai daerah agroekowisata diharapkan dapat mendukung keberlanjutan sistem subak ditengah perkembangan pari­ wisata Bali, yang merupakan sinergi antara pariwisata dan pertanian.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meminimalisasi miskonsepsi siswa serta untuk mengetahui keberhasilan proses pembelajaran fisika. setelah diajarkan menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Tondano Tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan jumlah siswa 23 orang. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental design dengan bentuk pretes-postes one group design. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif untuk data miskonsepsi dan analisis statistik uji-t untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa, sebelum uji-t dilakukan maka terlebih dahulu diawali dengan pengujian persyaratan analisis yaitu uji normalitas data dengan menggunakan chi kuadrat. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan data rata-rata miskonsepsi siswa yaitu 84,3% sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan menurun menjadi 38,7%, serta rata-rata hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari 3,41 sebelum diberikan perlakuan menjadi 7,04 setelah diberikan perlakuan. Pada analisis infrensial dengan menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan thitung =18,46> ttabel =1,717. Ini berarti miskonsepsi pada siswa sudah bisa diminimalisasi serta pada hasil belajar siswa juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan atau dengan kata lain Ho : μA ≠ 0 diterima. Kata kunci : metode demonstrasi, miskonsepsi, hasil belajar. AbstractThis research was conducted with the aim to minimize misconceptions experienced by students as well as to determine the success of the learning process of physics students on the subject of dynamic electricity after taught using demonstration method. The research was conducted in class IX SMP Negeri 3 Tondano academic year 2013/2014 the number of 23 students. The study design used was a pre experimental design with pretest-posttest form one group design. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques for data and statistical analysis misconceptions t-test to determine student learning outcomes, the t-test conducted before the first begins with the testing requirements of data analysis is the normality test using the chi squared. From the results of this study, the average data misconception that 84.3% of students before and after a given treatment given treatment decreased to 38.7%, and the average student learning outcomes increased from 3.41 before treatment be given after 7.04 given treatment. In infrensial analysis using t-test showed tcount = 18.46> ttable = 1.717. This means that the students have misconceptions can be minimized as well as the learning outcomes of students also showed a significant difference between student learning outcomes before and after the treatment, or in other words Ho : μA ≠ 0 is received. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh model pembelajara berbasis masalah (problem based learning) terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP N 1 Tondano kelas VIII dan menggunakan dua kelas dimana ada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan materi getaran dan gelombang. Data dari penelitian ini diambil dari post test dan pre-test kepada subjek penelitian dan data tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi getaran dan gelombang mengalami peningkatan yang terlihat dari thitung = 3,65 > ttabel = 2,00. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (problem based learning) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.   Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Hasil Belajar, Getaran dan Gelombang.   Abstract This study aims to investigate the influence of the problem-based learning model physics student learning outcomes. This study was conducted in SMP N 1 Tondano class VIII and uses two classes where there are experimental class and the control class material and wave vibration. Data from this study were drawn from the post-test and pre-test to the subject of the research and the data were analyzed using t-test. The results of this study indicate that the learning outcomes of students taught using problem-based learning model to material vibrations and waves increased as seen from t = 3.65> t table = 2.00. The results of this study concluded that the use of problem-based learning model can improve student learning outcomes.   Keywords : Problem Based Learning, Learning Outcomes, Waves and Vibration.
