Abstract

Kryptopterus apogon is one of the freshwater fishes that inhabit the Danau Baru oxbow lake. This study aimed to understand the stomach content of the fish living in the lake and also to understand its reproductive biology during the period of December-February 2017.The number of fish captured were 45 fishes ( 24 females and 21 males). The stomach content was analyzed using a gravimetry method, while its reproductive biology was noted.  K. apogon is as carnivorous fish and the types of food present in the stomach was fish (98.644%) as main food, crustaceans (0.940%) and insects (0.001%) as additional food. Mature fishes (13 females and 14 males) present throughout the research period, but the peak of reproductive activities occurred in February.  The Maturity Index of female ranged from 0.09-5.45% and that of the male was 0.07-0.18%. The fecundity of the fish was 36.075-540.72 eggs (in 340-690 mm TL and 197.5-1.725 gr BW females). This fish is total spawner,  and the diameter of eggs from the anterior, middle and posterior parts of the ovary was around 0.866 mm. These fish tend to consume fish during its gonad development.

Abstract

Banyaknya industri yang berkembang saat ini menyebabkan meningkatnya kadar logam berat seperti merkuri dalam perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kerusakan struktur jaringan lambung ikan kakap putih (L. calcarifer) yang dipaparkan pada [Hg (NO3)2] dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda. Dalam penelitian ini, ikan dipaparkan dengan konsentrasi 3,16 x 10-2 ppm, 9,99 x 10-2 ppm, 3,16 x 10-1 ppm dan 9,97 x 10-1 ppm. Total ikan yang digunakan untuk histologi adalah 15 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi [Hg (NO3)2] maka kerusakan pada jaringan lambung ikan juga akan meningkat dan mempercepat waktu kematian ikan. Kerusakan yang terjadi yaitu Hipertropi pada sel mukosa lambung, hancurnya villi, terdapatnya ruang antar lapisan otot dan villi serta menipisnya lapisan villi pada konsentrasi [Hg (NO3)2] yang lebih tinggi. Many industries today lead to increased levels of heavy metals such as mercury in water. This research aims to determine the effect of different concentrations of [Hg (NO3) 2] to Asean Sea Bass (L. calcarifer): Gill Histology. In this study, this fishes was treated with 3,16 x 10-2 ppm, 9,99 x 10-2 ppm, 3,16 x 10-1 ppm, and 9,97 x 10-1 ppm. Total fishes used for histological study was 15 fishes. Results of this research showed that increasing the consentrations of the [Hg(NO3)2] will also increase the damage on the stomach structure and fasten the mortality time of the fish. Damage that occurs is hypertrophy aand hyperplacia on epitel cells, , fuse of secundary lamellae and haemorhage on gill that were exposed to high consentration of [Hg(NO3)2].

Abstract

This research was conducted on February to April 2017 The study areas Marisa Beach, Tanayao Beach, Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach. A survey method was applied and data obtained from 189 respondents were descriptively analyzed.  The aimed of this study was to review the objects and issues of marine ecotourism has been conducted from February to April 2017. The study areas Marisa Beach, Tanayao Beach, Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach. A survey method was applied and data obtained from 189 respondents were descriptively analyzed.      Based on research results Tuhemberua Subdistrict is potential and suitable to be developed as marine ecotourism area. Activities that can be developed are swimming, sunbathing, beach recreation, water sports and boating. The main problems identified are as follow: less participation of stakeholders in developing the marine ecotourism, less attention from local governments in providing adequate facilities in each marine ecotourism object.  Scores of Tourism Suitability Index (TSI) was 97.44-100% and scores of Carrying Capacity Area was 222-318 persons/day. The highest TSI score was obtained in the Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach (100%) and the highest Carrying Capacity score was in the Fofola Indah Beach (318 persons/day). There were three main strategies for developing the marine ecotourism activities, namely anticipating and handling the threat of coastal abrasion and degradation, cooperation with travel agency as well as coastal conservation efforts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul pembelajaran matematika yang berkualitas dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran serta mendeskripsikan kualitas modul berdasarkan pada kriteria dari Nieveen yaitu valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengem-bangan yang menggunakan model pengembangan Dick & Carey yang telah dimodifikasi. Tahap-tahap yang dilakukan meliputi (1) tahap pendefisian kebutuhan, (2) tahap desain produk, (3) tahap pengembangan dan evaluasi, dan (4) tahap akhir. Uji coba dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu (1) uji coba/validasi ahli, (2) uji coba skala kecil, dan (3) uji coba skala besar/lapangan. Uji coba dilak-sanakan di SMK Pangudi Luhur Muntilan pada siswa kelas X Teknik Pemesinan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar penilaian guru, dan lembar penilaian siswa. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan modul pembelajaran matematika yang memuat pendidikan karakter untuk siswa kelas X SMK pada materi logika yang berkualitas dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Masing-masing komponen modul memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif.Kata Kunci: modul pembelajaran, logika, pendidikan karakter Developing a Logic Learning Module Loaded with Character Education for Class X Students of SMK AbstractThis research was aimed to produce a quality mathematics learning module and describe the quality of the developed product based on Niveen’s criteria, including validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research was a research and development study applying a model developed by Dick and Carey that has been modified. The stages were as follows: (1) needs identification, (2) product design, (3) development and evaluation, and (4) final. The experiments were carried out in three stages: (1) expert validation /experiment, (2) small scale try out, (3) large scale try out. The  try out was conducted at SMK Pangudi Luhur Muntilan assigned to Class X Machinery students. The research instruments applied were validation sheet, teacher assessment sheet, and student assessment sheet. The collected data were analyzed  using the qualitative and quantitative technique. The research has produced a learning module loaded with character education for Class X students of SMK on the topic logic which is qualified and suitable  for teaching learning processes. Each instructional package component is valid, practical, and effective.Keywords: learning module, logic, character education

Abstract

The study on the haematological condition of Osteochilus hasselti C.V. has been conducted on January to February 2011 and aims to understand the blood parameter values of O.hasselti living in the healthy area.Fish samples were obtained from the Lubuk Siam dam that has good water quality.There were 30 fishes (15 males and 15 females), ranged from 9.5 to 14.5 cm SL.The blood was taken from the caudal vena using 1 ml syringe wet with 10% EDTA.Haematological parameters measured were haematocrit and leucocrit levels (Anderson and Siwicki, 1994), total erythrocyte and  leukocyte (Schaperclaus, 1992).Results shown that the haematocrit and leucocrit level were 17–33.33 % and 1.72 - 3.12 % respectively.  Total erythrocyte was 98,000 - 3,330,000 cells/mm3, total leukocytewas 125,000 - 333,000 cells/mm3.

Abstract

This researct was conducted on September 2015 to April 2016. Fish reproduction is controlled by endocrine system that is affected by external factors such as photoperiod. Changing in photoperiod may affect the gonad development in fish. To understand the effect of different photoperiod in gonad development of O. hypopthalmus, the fishes were reared in fiber tanks (140 x 60 x 40 cm) with water circulation system and completed with aerator. The treatments applied were : natural photoperiod, 24D (continuous dark), 16D8L (16 hours dark and 8 hours light), 12D12L (12 hours dark and 12 hours light), 8D16L (8 hours dark and 16 hours light) and 24L (25 continuous light), and the fish were feed on shrimp and cricket enriched commercial pellet. The fishes were sampled once/month, 4 fishes/sample. Parameters investigated were body length, body weight, gonad development, hepatosomatic index (HSI), viscerosomatic index (VSI) and gonadosomatic index (GSI). Based on the research  results different photoperiod did not affect the gonad development of O. hypopthalmus. There was no special pattern in gonad development in all treatments. The gonads were first developed in 13 ? 37 weeks old male and female fishes. The female gonad, however, developed earlier than that of the male. The smallest female with developed gonad was 10.65 cm TL and 5.55 g BW. While that of the male was 16.7 cm TL and 16.7 g BW. During the research there was no mature fish.  The HSI and VSI shown similar patterns, it was increased by the second month (17 weeks old fish) and then decreased. This decrement indicates that the energy stored has been used for gonad development. Based on data obtained it can be concluded that the photoperiod does not affect the gonad development of ompok hyopthalmus.

Abstract

This research was conducted on  Juny to 16 October 2016 case in village Teluk Bakau of Bintan Singingi Regency in Riau Island Province. Its was aimed to know the type of seagrass, the shape of the community activities that threaten ecosystems seagrass, analyzing the economic value of fisheries and seagrass ecosystem services. The method used by survey methods, Sampling was done in Teluk Bakau Village by purposive sampling. Observation of seagrass type and community activities was done by observation and interviews. Calculation of economic fishery was using questionnaire and interview approach. Based on the research results showed the type of seagrass in Teluk Bakau Villageare Enhalus acoroides, Syringodium isoetifolium, Thalasodendron ciliatum and Cymodocea rotundata. Community activities are the development of the coastal area, residential communities, fisheries and marine tourism. The economic value of fisheries is Rp 835.665.600 rupiah/year. Seagrass ecosystem services in Teluk Bakau Village are the area for capture fishes, aquaculture, and marine tourism.

Abstract

AbstractThere are many types of makrophyta and crustasea in the swamp area in the Sawah Village, but there is no information on the association of those organisms. A research aims to understand the type of makrophyta, type of crustasea and association of makrophyta and crustasea, a research has been conducted in August–September 2018. Sampling were conducted once/week for a month period.Macrobrachium oxyphilus and Parathelphusa parduswere found around the community of Barclaya sp., Hydrilla verticilata and Pistia stratiotes.M. oxyphilus and P. parduswere not found around the community of Paspalum sp.. Even though the plants are different but the type of crustasea present is similar. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that there was specific association between makrophyta and crustasea species in the swamp area in the Sawah Village. Keywords: Makrophyta, Crustasea assosiation, Aquatic plant, Sawahvillage swamp

Abstract

In recent years, many net cages for aquaculture activities, especially for culturing Wallago leeri and Mystus numerus are placed along the Kampar River, especially in the Buluhcina Village. The remain of fish feed, namely rotten chicken flesh have polluted the water. This study aimed to identify the cage culture profile; to analyze the feasibility of the business and the carrying capacity of the environment. This research was conducted in August 2016 ? March 2017. There are three observation stations,  Station 1 (before the cage area), Station 2 (the cage area) and Station 3 (after the cage area). Sampling was conducted once. The length of the river is 1.4 Km and 594 single unit net cages are placed along 1,2 Km river. Among the cages, 570 units (96% )are used to the culture of W. leeri,  19 units (3.2%) for M. numerus and the rest, 3 units are for rearing Pangasius sp. and Oreochromis niloticus (1 unit). The carrying capacity of the waters is 496.1 tons/year. The current annual production of W. leeri is 228 tons/year, it is less than the maximum potency.  It is predicted that the culture can be increased by 258.5 ton/year or 646 cages. The recent RCR value is 1.120, indicates that this business is profitable and it could be continued.

Abstract

Changing in photoperiod duration will affects the physiology of fish in general. A study aims to understand the effects of photoperiod manipulation towards C. gariepinus morpho-anatomy and growth was conducted on March?May 2018. The fishes were reared in fiber tanks (140 x 60 x 40 cm) that was filled with water and completed with a circulatory system. Treatments applied were Control (natural photoperiod), 24G (24 hours dark), 18G6T (18 hours dark and 6 hours light), and 6G18T (6 hours dark and 18 hours light). The fishes were sampled once/14 days, 4 fishes/ aquarium/sampling. Parameters measured were length-weight relationship, condition factor, hepatosomatic index (HSI), viscerasomatic index (VSI), absolute length and weight, food conversion ratio (FCR), gonad development and body protein/fat. Results shown that photoperiod manipulation affects C. gariepinus morpho-anatomy and growth. The highest growth parameters and morpho-anotomy index were found in fish reared in 18G6T. By the end of the experiment, the b value of   length-weight relationship was 3.3205, absolute weight and length were 86.70 g and 17.23 cm, condition factor was 0.84, VSI was 25.31%, HSI was 11.42%, FCR was 1.43, and body protein and fat was 48.40% and 50.38%. In the fish reared in 24G treatment, b was 1.9262, 52.13 g BW and 14.19 cm SL, condition factor was 0.80, VSI was 23.30%, HSI was 9.38%, FCR was 2.47, and body protein and fat was 48.08% and 49.53%. In the fish reared in 6G18T, b was 2.6903,49.45 g BW and 13.79 cm SL, condition factor was 0.79, VSI was 23.30%, HSI was 6.80%, FCR was 1.91, and body protein and fat was 46.64% and 49.00%. Fish reared in natural photoperiod (control) shown the lowest results b was 2.0418, 51.68 g BW and 14.21 cm SL, condition factor was 0.79, VSI was 19.58%, HSI was 6.96%, FCR was 2.20, and body protein and fat was 43.95% and 47.77%.Early developing gonad (1st maturity stage) was only found in fish reared in 18G6T. Based on data obtained it can be concluded that the photoperiod manipulation affect the morpho-anatomy and growth of C. gariepinus.
