Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan mahasiswa matematika dalam memahami masalah, membuat rencana, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali jawaban. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 145 mahasiswa yang diambil berdasarkan purposive sampling. Prosedur pengumpulan data digunakan teknik Think Out Louds. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah (1) menelaah semua data yang terkumpul, (2) menelaah hasil pekerjaan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, (3) melakukan verifikasi data. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan derajat keterpercayaan dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Kesalahan tahap pertama adalah kesalahan kebiasaan 4,14%, kesalahan intepretasi bahasa 0,69%, dan kesalahan fakta 4,14%. Kesalahan tahap kedua adalah kesalahan konsep 8,28% dan kesalahan prinsip 6,90%. Kesalahan tahap ketiga adalah kesalahan prinsip 4,14%, dan kesalahan prosedur 14,48%, serta seluruh mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan prinsip pada tahap keempat. Abstract

The sociomathematics’ norm is a social norm of mathematical nuance, with sociomathematics’ norms; the social intelligence possessed by learners can be developed because this norm is strongly associated with negotiation and interaction. The purpose of this article is to know the improvement of sociomathematics’ norms student of mathematics education by using cooperative learning of Team Accelerated Instruction. This research uses pretest-posttes control only group design. Sample size in this research is 38 people in class C of course of Numerical Method taken by cluster random. The sociomathematics’ norm is obtained using an observation sheet. The data obtained were analysed using N-gain and t-test (paired-samples T Test). The calculation result shows that the pre-test average of 8,526, post-test, significance coefficient of 0.000, and N-Gain mean equal to 0,5. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the learning model of Team Accelerated Instruction can improve students sociomathematics’ norm ability through numerical method.

Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of the Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) towards the ability of the students to solve mathematics problems based on their initial ability. This study is an experiment with 367 students involved as the research sample taken using the cluster technique. The research variable is the problem-solving ability, the initial ability, and the learning model. Analysis of variance was used to analyze the data which leads to the conclusions that (1) the TAI is more effective than the Direct Instruction (DI); (2) the students having moderate initial ability performed better compared to the lower and the higher initial ability; (3) among the students with moderate initial ability, TAI was more effective to be used than DI; and (4) in the implementation of  TAI and DI, the problem solving ability of the students is relatively similar.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (1) siswa yang diajar menggunakan TAI dan model pembelajaran langsung, (2) siswa dengan tingkatan kemampuan awal yang berbeda. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Jogjakarta dengan ukuran sampel 66 siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Variabel penelitian adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, kemampuan awal dan model pembelajaran. Data diperoleh dengan dokumentasi untuk kemampuan awal dan tes untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan menggunakan analisis variansi dua jalur (ANAVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis matematika pada siswa yang menggunakan TAI maupun model pembelajaran langsung, pada tingkatan kemampuan awal yang berbeda juga tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis. Kata Kunci. The purpose of this research is to know the difference between problem-solving ability: (1) on students who are taught using TAI and direct learning model, (2) on students with different initial skill level. This type of research is a quasi-experiment. The population in this research is all students of SMP class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Jogjakarta with sample size 66 students taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The research variables are problem-solving ability, initial capability, and learning model. Data were obtained with documentation for initial capability and tests for problem-solving skills. The data analysis technique was used using two-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was no difference in the ability to solve mathematical problems in students using TAI as well as direct learning models, at different levels of different capabilities as well as no difference in problem-solving abilities Kata Kunci. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP kelas VIII se-kota Jogjakarta dengan ukuran sampel 369 siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Variabel penelitian adalah kemampuan memecahkan masalah, prestasi belajar matematika dan model pembelajaran. Data diperoleh dengan tes untuk menentukan kemampuan awal siswa, kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan prestasi belajar yang kemudian diuji dengan analisis variansi multivariat (MANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Team Accelerated Instruction lebih efektif digunakan jika dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung.The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of teams Accelerated Instruction to the problem solving and mathematics achievement. Abstract

The aim of this research to know the error of problem solving in trigonometry. This research used the qualitative descriptive, with the subject of research is 80 students who were taken be based on purposive sampling. The procedure of the data was used by the think out louds. Technically the analysis of the data that was used was (1) studied all the data’s that were gathered, (2) studied results of the work of the student in resolving the problem of trigonometry, (3) carried out the verification from the data. The checking of the legality of the data used the triangulation. The first and second stage of error was the concept, the third stage of error was the algorithm, and the fourth stage of error was habits and Confirmation of the answer. Keyword: error,  problem solving,  trigonometry

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan kajian dari ajaran Ki Hajar Dewantara dan nilai-nilai agama yang diimplementasikan di dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tujuannya untuk membina karakter siswa agar tidak mudah terpengaruh budaya negatif bangsa lain. Pada dasarnya, integrasi antara agama dan ajaran Ki Hajar Dewantara dapat direalisasikan, dan hal itu sesuai dengan kemampuan berpikir 4Cs. Tamansiswa selaku organisasi yang didirikan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara seharusnya menjadi pemrakarsa dan penggerak dalam pembinaan karakter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety and learning motivation on student achievement. This research is a kind of ex post facto, a six-month study period. A population of 125 students, with a sample of 100 students were randomly selected. The research variables are student achievement as the dependent variable, while the independent variable is the level of anxiety of students and student learning motivation. Data collection methods used were the questionnaire method and documentation. Data analysis technique used is path analysis. It can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between anxiety level of students' motivation, there is no direct relationship between the level of anxiety of students on student achievement through student learning motivation, there is a positive relationship between learning motivation on student achievement. So it can be stated that there is a correlation between the level of anxiety and learning motivation of students simultaneously on student achievement.

Abstract

The current study aims to identify the development level of students’ geometric thinking in mathematics education department, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan based on van Hiele’s theory. This is a descriptive qualitative research with the respondents as many as 129 students. In addition to researchers, the instrument used in this study is a test consisting of 25 items multiple choice questions. The data is analyzed by using Milles and Huberman model. The result shows that there were 30,65% of students in pre-visualization level, 21,51% of students in visualizes level, and 29,03% of students in analyze level, 16,67% of students in informal deduction level, 2,15% of students in deduction level, and 0,00% of student in rigor level. Furthermore, findings indicated a transition level among development levels of geometric thinking in pre-analyze, pre-informal deduction, pre-deduction, and pre-rigor that were 20%; 13,44%; 6,45%; 1,08% respectively. The other findings were 40,32% of students were difficult to determine and 4,3% of students cannot be identified.
