Abstract: Character Education for Chemistry Students Through PracticumsLaden with Life-Skills. This study aims to build chemistry students? charactersthrough Physical Chemistry I and II practicums laden with life skills. This actionresearch study consisted of four steps, i.e. planning, action, observation andreflection and involved students joining Physical Chemistry I and II laboratorywork. The study focused on psychomotor and affective aspects. The instrumentswere observation sheets and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using thequalitative descriptive technique. The results show that Physical Chemistry I and IIlaboratory work activities laden with life skills can build students? characters. Theycan develop such characters as discipline, responsibility, obedience, thoroughness, thriftiness, truthfulness, gentleness, tolerance, initiative, creativeness, and wisdom. Keywords: life skills, character building

Abstract

The aims of the research were to determine the nitrogen contained in human urine before and after applying zeolyte and to determine  the influence of MgO to nitrogen  contained in human urine. The determination of zeolyte adsorption capacity to nitrogen contained in human urine included 3 steps: activation of natural zeolyte, nitrogen adsorption, total nitrogen determination  by Kjedahl test. Zeolyte activation was done by soaking zeolyte into 0,1 M HCl,  HNO3,  and H2SO4 for 1 hour and calcinated for 4 hours at 400°C. The adsorption proses was done by adding inactivated and activated  zeolyte with and without MgO adding. The optimum mass of zeolyte was 3 grams. The  adsorption  capacities  of inactivated zeolytes without and with MgO adding were 0.007809% and 0.0102% per gram zeolyte, respectively. The adsorption capacities of activated zeolyte by HCl,  HNO3, dan H2S04 without MgO adding were 0.00604%, 0.00664% and 0.00917% per gram zeoliyte. The adsorption capacities  of activated zeolyte by HCl,  HN03,  dan H2S04 with MgO adding were 0.00839%, 0.0104%, dan  0.011% per gram zeolyte. The  activation  and MgO adding increased  the adsorption capacity of zeolyte to nitrogen contained in human urine.

Abstract

Quality of cargo management services is primary consumer expectation indicator measured by the dimension model and the minimum service time. Likert scale of five levels is use, analyzed with Important Performance Analysis and Performance Analysis Approach to portray the user perception and expectation. Five dimensions of quality aspect are selected such as reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence. Two air cargo companies operating at Jakarta International Airport Soekarno Hatta are selected as respondents with sample sizes of 46 and 33 are observed. A grid with four quadrants is developed. The result shows that the two operator need improvement to reach minimum service time of 30 minutes. The existing system is in a range between 46 to 51.51 minutes to finish all system services steps. To reach the minimum service time, the operator management, equipment, and tools must be improved. Keywords: Domestic terminal, cargo, service quality, Importance Performance Analysis

Abstract

School Safety Zone, as an instrument to reduce traffic speed in a school area, has been implemented in Indonesia. This study tried to evaluate the effectiveness of the School Safety Zone based on the perception of its users, including students, teachers, parents, and travelers around the school. The results show that most ofthe respondents understand very well the meaning and the purpose of the School Safety Zone. However, it is also found that “Four Ts” method has not been recognized well by the respondents. Keywords: school safety zone, perception, Four Ts method
