Abstract

Mikromorfologi merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu dalam ilmu tanah. Dalam studi mikromorfologi, contoh tanah terlebih dahulu disiapkan sebagai suatu irisan tipis (dengan berbagai metoda), kemudian fenomena yang ada di dalamnya diperiksa menggunakan mikroskop. Dengan mengetahui susunan,bentuk, orientasi, pol a distribusi, struktur dll, fenomena yang terjadi dapat diinterpretasi, baik mengenai komposisi tanah, hubungan antar komponen maupun dinamika proses yang telah,sedang atau diperkirakan akan terjadi di dalam tanah. Dengan demikian, mikromorfologi dapat dan sangat prospektif pula untuk dikembangkan dan diterapkan bagi berbagai penggunaan diluar bidang ilmu tanah.

Abstract

The Sequence of Horizons of Paddy Soils in a Toposequence of Latosol on Volcanic Parent Materials in the Bogor – Jakarta AreaABSTRACT. The sequence of horizons of paddy soils is different from non paddy cultivated. The aim of the research were: (1) to study the sequence of horizons of paddy soils in a toposequence of Latosol on Volcanic materials in the Bogor – Jakarta Area; (2) to study the sequence of paddy cultivated intensity to sequence of horizons. Twelve pedons of different altitude (90 – 650 m above sea level) and different paddy cultivated intensity (0/year, 1/year, 2/year) were investigated sequence of horizons in the field. The result of the research showed that the horizons sequence, on non paddy cultivated soils consist of: tillage layers and the original soil layers. On 1x paddy/year consist of: plow pan layer, and iron/manganese/nodule Mn illuviation layer. On 2x paddy /year consist of: tillage layer of surface reduction, plow pan layer, Fe/Mn illuviation layer, and reduce subsurface layer.

Abstract

(The Pedological Features of Paddy Soils from a Toposequence on Volcanic Parent Materials in the Bogor – Jakarta Area)ABSTRACT. The pedological feature of paddy soils are different from the non paddy cultivated. The aim of the research were: to study the pedofeatures of paddy soils in a toposequence on volcanic materials in the Bogor – Jakarta area; to study the influence of paddy cultivated intensity of pedofeatures. Twelve pedons of different altitude (90 – 650 m above see level) and different paddy cultivated intensity (0/year, 1/year, 2/year) were investigated, each horizons were sampled for laboratory analysis to study the pedofeatures. The result of the research showed that on non paddy cultivated, pedofeature observed at B horizon is indicating rock weathering. On 1x paddy, at tillage layer nodules and hypocoating were found. On 2x paddy, at plow plan layer clay infilling dense complete was found.

Abstract

Salah satu bahan nabati potensial di Indonesia sebagai sumber biodiesel adalah kemiri sunan (Reutealis trisperma (Blanco) Airy Shaw). Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji: 1) kelayakan finansial penanaman kemiri sunan; 2) kelayakan finansial pengolahan biodiesel kemiri sunan; 3) pengembangan unit usaha pada lahan tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanaman kemiri sunan layak diusahakan pada luas 60 ha, umur usaha 50 tahun. Nilai kelayakan dengan dana sendiri: NPV Rp 1.101.007.645; IRR 13,52%; BCR 1,36; PBP 14,68 tahun. Nilai kelayakan dengan dana pinjaman : NPV Rp 160.351.357; IRR 13,52%; BCR 1,08; PBP 22,55 tahun. Pembangunan tanaman kemiri sunan sensitif terhadap penurunan harga jual biji kering dan penurunan produktivitas tanaman ≥ 28%. Pengolahan biodiesel layak diusahakan pada umur usaha 15 tahun, kapasitas produksi 202,75 Kl/tahun. Nilai kelayakan dengan dana sendiri : NPV Rp 512.549.740; IRR 27,27%; BCR 1,04; PBP 4,32 tahun. Nilai kelayakan dengan dana pinjaman: NPV Rp 303.310.940; IRR 27,27%; BCR 1,03; PBP 4,94 tahun. Pengolahan biodiesel kemiri sunan sensitif terhadap kenaikan biaya bahan dan tenaga kerja penurunan harga biodiesel mencapai ≥6%. Jika seluruh lahan tersedia ditanami akan berpeluang menghasilkan 2.365 unit usaha dan biodiesel yang memenuhi 16,68% kebutuhan solar Jawa Barat.

Abstract

Indonesian national food sovereignty is very dependent on the supply of rice from paddy fields in Java Island. Various factors influence the farmer’s decision to continue using his farm. This study aims to analyze the sustainable use of paddy field, determinant factors and strategies for improving sustainability. The study was conducted in Karawang Regency, one of the centers of rice production in West Java. The methodology used is a multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) using 43 attributes of 5 dimensions (ecological, social, economical, technological and legal and institutional dimension). Against the sensitive attribute analysis resulting from MDS, a prospective analysis was conducted to determine the key factors of sustainability. Priority policies for improving sustainability are developed based on the location of the key factors in the prospective diagram. The research results showed that the land utilization for paddy field in Karawang is actually less sustainable. Increasing the sustainability can be done through intervention and improving performance, preferably on sensitive attributes resulting from leverage analysis, covering 16 attributes. Priority policies is directed in the 5 key factors resulting from prospective analysis. Policies suggested are the tightening of new permits for building, strict implementation of the official spatial land use planning and delineation of agricultural land for sustainable food crops, counseling the community, revitalizing the role of BULOG, provision of subsidies as well as capital assistance to farmers.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to evaluate the effect of zeolite addition on watermelon and cantaloupe production and growing. The research carried out in green house of Bogor Agricultural University and the plant growth media (PGM) analysis carried out at Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University. Single factor completely randomize design was used with four treatments and five repetitions. Plant growth media composition treatments effect the physical and chemical properties of PGM. The bulk density of PGM increase from from 0.22 to 0.56 g/cm3 and water holding capacity drop from 326.58 to 85.38 along with zeolite percentages added. The effects of zeolite on chemical characteristic of PGM is decreasing electrical conductivity rate before planting. PGM composition treatment did not positively effects on watermelon and cantaloupe growth, however there is an increasing on main stalk length and leaf quantity on cantaloupe. For watermelon, the increasing of growth parameter happened on 10% zeolite percentage. For fruit quality, PGM treatment positively effects on organoleptic test result 10% of zeolite giving the best result on the increasing of the average value of production and growth parameter.

Abstract

Pidie is one of the districts in Aceh Province that has been suffering from flooding. Frequent disasters, especially flooding associated with various causative factors, need mitigation efforts. An appropriate land use planning by considering the risk aspects especially in flood is an important step. Objectives of this study are to determine the factors influencing the flood hazard, to map the areal distribution vulnerable to flood, to analyze the relations of land use in the flood hazard area, and to analyze the relations between the planned spatial pattern and the flood hazard area. ,Multicriteria analysis was used to determine the factors influencing the flood hazard. Spatial analysis was used in mapping the class of flood hazard, the relations of land use in the flood hazard area, and the relations between the planned spatial pattern and the flood hazard area. The results show that the main factors influencing flood vulnerability are land use/cover (0.408), rainfall (0.266), and slope (0.184). Based on the classification of flood vulnerability, the area can be divided into more vulnerable (37.75 %), less vulnerable (30 %), and mildly vulnerable (22.76 %). The vulnerability classes of the land use/cover are: less vulnerable (99.99 %) and more vulnerable (97.57 %) dominated by forest cover; mildly vulnerable (51.07%) and vulnerable (92.65%) dominated by mixed farming; and very vulnerable (97%) dominated by settlement. The flood vulnerability of the planned spatial pattern can be classified as follows: 95.44 % of the conservation area is dominated by less vulnerable and more vulnerable, while 71.20 % of the cultivation area can be categorized into mildly vulnerable, vulnerable and very vulnerable.

Abstract

This study aims to design and build water resource conservation model with emphasis on technical, socio-economical,and ecological aspects involving extensive changes in land use, population growth, continuity of operation of the hydropower of Asahan and some other aspects of the catchment. Illustration of the water balance was made under the influence of land use and other economic activities. Modelling of water balance was constructed by the method of dynamic modeling systems using Powersim software. The water availability was analyzed using FJ.Mock method with variables derived from the analysis of the ecological condition of the catchment area of Lake Toba. The simulations ofwater balance and water level was performed for the condition without intervention variables and with intervention variables. The intervention variables was performed in pessimistic, moderat and optimistic scenario to provide an overview of conservation policy. The simulation of the water balance and lake water level indicate that either in the year of 2017-2057, the best scenario is between moderate and optimistic scenarios in the condition of the population growth between 0.8% - 1.0% per year, infiltration coefficient values between 0.40 to 0.45, the value of land cover factor between 0.25 to 0.3, while the flow ofwater released into the Asahan River of 91.69 m3/sec in average.Keywords: FJ. Abstract

Evaluasi daya dukung lingkungan merupakan bagian dari upaya mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Salah satu metoda evaluasi daya dukung lingkungan adalah evaluasi berbasis kemampuan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi daya dukung lingkungan berbasis kemampuan lahan di Tuban, Jawa Timur. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengkaji kesesuaian antara kemampuan lahan dengan penggunaan lahan aktual dan alokasi Pola Ruang dalam Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Kabupaten. Kemampuan lahan dievaluasi pada setiap Satuan Peta Lahan yang diperoleh dari survai lapangan tahun 2014. Penggunaan lahan aktual dianalisis menggunakan citra Landsat 8 OLI tahun peliputan 2013. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan lahan di wilayah penelitian berkisar dari kemampuan lahan kelas II sampai kelas VIII. Wilayah dengan kemampuan lahan yang memungkinkan untuk pengusahaan budidaya (kelas II-IV) mencakup 78,6% wilayah studi, sementara wilayah yang tidak memungkinkan untuk budidaya (kelas V-VIII) mencakup 21,4% wilayah studi. Faktor pembatas kemampuan lahan terdiri dari tekstur tanah, kedalaman efektif, drainase, lereng dan genangan/banjir. Saat ini, 32% wilayah di Kabupaten Tuban penggunaan lahannya sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya, 66,4% wilayah digunakan melebihi kemampuan lahannya. Dalam hal alokasi lahan pada pola ruang, 67,3% wilayah dialokasikan penggunaan lahannya sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya, sedangkan 31% dialokasikan melebihi kemampuan lahannya. Temuan ini dapat digunakan untuk mengontrol penggunaan lahan di Kabupaten Tuban dan menjadi bahan revisi Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Kabupaten agar penggunaan lahan dialokasikan sesuai dengan kemampuan lahannya.

Abstract

Urban Agriculture can be described as the growing processing and distribution of food and nonfood plant and tree crops and the raising of livestock, directly for the urban market, both within and on the fringe of urban area. The main aim of this research was to analyze the advisability and the potential beef cattle development in South Tangerang. Datas were obtained from the interview with stakeholders and observation to the livestock locations. Secondary data were obtained from related institutions and litarature.The Analtical Hierarchy Process (AHP) andStrength Weanesses Opportunityand Treaths (SWOT) was used to arrange the strategy of beef cattle development in South Tangerang.The Strengths-Threats strategy were used to optimize the market potentials, humans resources and local goverment suport, reduce the negative effect of environment and limited land resources. The results showed that the application of waste management and biogas technology, enhancement the capacity of farmer cooperatives and the support of goverment in landuse was the important aspect of sustainable to increase farmers income and food security.
