Abstract

Abstrak.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh substitusi pakan organik dan komersil terhadap kualitas telur yang dihasilkan dari crossbreeding ayam jantan Kamaras dan betina ALPU. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP),  Program Studi Peternakan,  Fakultas Pertanian,  Universitas Syiah Kuala,  Darussalam,  Banda Aceh dan penetasan telur dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Produksi Ternak Unggas,  Program Studi Peternakan,  Fakultas Pertanian,  Universitas Syiah Kuala, tanggal 12 Februari hingga 19 Mei 2017. Penelitian menggunakan 24 ekor betina ALPU,  produksi LLP Unsyiah. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RaL),  terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, masing – masing terdiri dari dua ekor ayam betina ALPU. Perlakuan yang  dicobakan adalah pemberian substitusi pakan organik dan komersil yang terdiri dari 18% protein dan 2800 kcal energi, 20% protein dan 2800 kcal energi, 18% protein dan 2900 kcal energi, 16% protein dan 3000 kcal energi. Parameter yang diamati meliputi  berat telur, fertilitas telur, daya tetas telur, sex rasio, berat badan DOC. Data aspek teknis dianalisis dengan Analysis of  Variance (ANOVA), jika didapatkan hasil yang berbeda nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (Steel danTorrie, 1993). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan substitusi pakan organik dan komersil meningkatkan fertilitas telur dan pertambahan berat badan DOC umur 1 minggu. diberikan imbangan protein 16% dan energi 3000 kcal memiliki fertilitas dan pertambahan berat badan DOC yang baik.The Effect of Organic and Commercial Feed Substituion on The Quality of Crossbreeding Chicken Eggs (Male Kamaras and Female ALPU)Abstract. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of organic and commercial feed substitution on egg quality resulting from crossbreeding male Kamaras and female ALPU. The study was conducted in FieldLaboratory of  Animal Husbandry, Department of Animal Science,  Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, and egg hatchery conducted at the Laboratory of Poultry Production Science and Technology, Livestock StudyProgram, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University . Since February 12 until May 19, 2017. The study used 24 female of ALPU, produced by LLP Unsyiah. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL),consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, each consisting of two female ALPU. The experimental treatmentswere organic and commercial feed substitution consisting of 18% protein and 2800 kcal of energy, 20% proteinand 2800 kcal of energy, 18% protein and 2900 kcal of energy, 16% protein and 3000 kcal of energy. Parameters observed included egg weight, egg fertility, egg hatchability, sex ratio, body weight DOC. Technical as pect data were analyzed with Analysis of  Variance (ANOVA), if the results were significantly different, then continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (Steel and Terry, 1993). The results showed that organic and commercial feed substitution increased egg fertility and weight gain of 1 week old DOC. It was concluded that feeding  a protein balance of 16% and 3000 kcal of energy has good fertility and weight gain DOC.

Abstract

Abstrak.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi sebagian ransum komersil periode finisher dengan pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp terhadap berat akhir dan persentase karkas ALPU.   Penelitian dilakukan  diLaboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP),  Program Studi Perternakan,  Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala, tanggal 14 Februari‒23 April 2017.  Penelitian menggunakan 80 ekor DOC Unsexed, produksiLembaga Breeding Agripet Perkasa (LBAP). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK),  terdiri dari 4perlakuan dan 4 kelompok.   Tiap kelompok merupakan unit percobaan, masing-masing terdiri dari lima ekor ayam.Perlakuan yang  dicobakan adalah pemberian pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp sebanyak 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, bobot dan persentase potongan karkas. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa subsitusi sebagian ransum komersil dengan bahan pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp tidak berpengaruh nyata  terhadap berat dan persentase karkas, berat potongan karkas dan persentase potongan karkas ALPU umur 10 minggu. Meskipun tidak berbeda nyata, berat karkas ALPU yang diberikan ransum komersil dengan substitusi 5 %, 10 %, 15 %  pakan fermentasi Azolla sp (P1 sampai P3) lebih tinggi daripada tanpa pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp (P0). ALPU yang diberikan pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp  (P1sampai P3) memiliki bobot dan persentase dada, sayap, paha dan punggung lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ALPU yang diberikan 100% ransum komersil (P0). Hasil analisis statistik terhadap kelompok ALPU umur 10 minggu berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap berat hidup, berat dan persentase potongan karkas (dada, sayap, paha dan punggung), namun tidak menunjukkan perbedaan  yang nyata pada berat dan persentase karkas. Disimpulkan bahwa ransum komersil N511 dapat disubsitusikan dengan pakan fermentasi berbasis Azolla sp selama periode pemeliharaan 3-10 minggu tanpa berpengaruh negatif terhadap berat hidup, berat,  persentase karkas dan  potongan karkas ayam ALPU umur 10 minggu.  The Use of Azolla Sp of Fermented Feed As Substitution of Most Commercial Weighted Commercial Rations and Appearance of Superior Local Chicken Carcasses (ALPU)Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of substitution of some commercial rations finisher period with Azolla sp's fermented feed on the final weight and percentage of ALPU carcass. The research was conducted at Field Laboratory of Animal Husbandry (LLP), Livestock Breeding Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, 14 February-23April, 2017. The study used 80 DOC Unsexed, Breeding Agripet Perkasa (LBAP), Binjai. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RAK), consisting of 4 treatments and 4 groups. Each group is an experimental unit, each consisting of five chickens. The treatments were Azolla sp. Fermentation based on 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. Parameters observed include final weight, weight, percentage of carcass, weight and percentage of carcass. The results of this study show that the substitution of some commercial rations with fermented feed ingredients based on Azolla sp has no significant effect on the weight and percentage of carcass, carcass weight and percentage of 10 weeks of ALPU carcass. Although not significantly different, ALPU carcass weight given commercial ration with 5% substitution, 10%, 15% fermented Azolla sp feed (P1 to P3) was higher than without Azolla sp (P0) based fermentation feed. ALPU given fermented feed based on Azolla sp (P1 to P3) has higher weight and percentage of chest, wings, thighs and back than ALPU given 100% commercial ration (P0). The result of statistical analysis on ALPU group age 10 weeks had significant effect (P <0,05) to live weight, weight and percentage of carcass (chest, wings, thighs and back) but did not show significant difference in weight and percentage of carcass. It was concluded that commercial N511 ration could be substituted with Azolla sp-based fermentation feed during maintenance period of 3-10 weeks without negatively affecting weight of life, weight, carcass percentage and 10 weeks of ALPU chicken carcass.

Abstract

Evaluation of the potency of agricultural by product as ruminant animal feed in aceh besar regencyABSTRACT. A research to evaluate the potency of agricultural by product as animal feed was conducted in Aceh Besar Regency from June to December 2009. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the availability of local feed from agricultural by product including its production and quality, to calculate animal capacity of ruminant animals by using animal unit (AU) based the production and quality of agricultural by product.This research was carried out by survey method. Data consist of primary and secondary data to calculate the production and quality of agricultural by products in Aceh Besar Regency. The production of agricultural by products was calculated based on dry matter, crude protein and total digestible nutrient. Animal capacity which is calculated based on agricultural by products with the following measurement ; 1 animal unit consumes dry matter with the average of 6,25 kg/day (2.282,25 kg/year), crude protein with average of 0,06 kg/day (240,9 kg/year) and total digestible nutrient with the average of 4,3 kg/day (1.569,5 kg/year).Based on the calculation was found that total of dray matter, crude protein and total digestible nutrient from agricultural by product in Aceh Besar regency was 197.510 ton, 9443,8 ton and 89.167,7 ton respectively. The capacity of ruminant animals fed from agricultural by product in Aceh Besar regency was 87.061 AU, 39.202 AU, and 57.125 AU for dry matter, crude protein and total digestible nutrient respectively. It can be concluded that Aceh Besar regency has a big potency to develop animal production by using agricultural by products. Therefore, agricultural by products in Aceh Besar regency should be used optimally.

Abstract

The proximate analysis of ammoniated rice straw added with rumen contentABSTRACT. A study about proximate analysis on ammoniated rice straw that added with rumen content was conducted at Agricultural Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. Field research was done at Experimental Farm Animal Husbandry Department, followed by proximate analysis done in the Animal Feed Laboratory. Factorial completely randomizes design with four replications was applied in this research. Storage time (4 Level) was the first factor analyzed, and the second one was the rumen content level (4 level). Analysis of variance was used to determine the differences among treatments. When it occurred, it followed by working on the Duncan Multiple Test to find the difference of each treatment. Data record were taken from the percentages of dry matter, crude fiber, crude protein, crude lipid, and ash. Rice straw and rumen content were analyzed before treatments were applied. The study result indicated that the storage times of ammoniated rice straw that were given rumen content decreased the percentage of crude fiber and dry matter in highly significant different (P<0.01). On the other hand, the percentage of ash and crude protein were increased also in highly significant difference (P<0.01). Meanwhile, the percentage of crude lipid due to both storage time and rumen content added factors showed highly significant different (P<0.01). The storage time up to fourth week, and adding of 25 % rumen content to ammoniated rice straw, can increase it nutritive value. It was concluded that generally the quality of product resulted from this research was very good. Therefore it is acceptable to provide to animals.

Abstract

Recently, fermentation of low quality feed such as agro industry by products has been widely applied to produce enriched animal feed and improve animal productivity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate in vitro digestibility of fermented complete feed by using agro-residues from sago starch processing industries as main source diet.  Feed was formulated on the basis of 40% sago residue and mixed with other ingredients (rice brand, coconut meal, bread by product, soybean meal and soybean hulls) to fulfill the requirement of sheep with 16,10% of CP, 2,80 Mkal ME/kg and TDN 60,88% based on calculation. Mineral and Urea were added in the complete feed to reach mineral and CP requirements of sheep.  Complete feed formulation was fermented by using 3 commercial fermentation products (Saus Burger Pakan® (SBP), Probion® and EM4®) for 21 days. Total and types of microbes from commercial fermentation products which were utilized in this study were not determined. Parameters measured in this study were pH, NH3, IVDMD (in vitro dry matter digestibility), IVOMD (in vitro organic matter digestibility) and VFA total. The model used for the statistical analysis was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (control and 3 different commercial fermentation products) and 4 replications.  The results of this study indicated that administration of different commercial fermentation products into fermented complete feed based on sago residues significantly influenced (P<0.05) on pH, NH3, VFA total, IVDMD and IVOMD. Generally, commercial fermentation products mainly SBP produced better feed quality by improving the values of pH, NH3, VFA total, IVDMD and IVOMD. However, types and total microorganisms were needed to be determined before experiment.

Abstract

Sugarcane bagasse is one of agro-industrial residues containing low nutrient content and difficult to be digested by animals.  However, it can be recycled to produce value-added product such as protein-enriched animal feed by application feed technology such as ammoniation and fermentation. The purposes of these experiments were to evaluate the quality and in vitro digestibility of sugarcane bagasse by using two steps feed technology process: ammoniation and continued by fermentation process. Two studies were conducted in these experiments.  The first study was to determine the quality of amoniated sugarcane bagasse after incubation at room temperature at different days (0, 7, 14, 21, 28 days) and the second study was to determine in vitro degestibility of  ammoniated sugarcane bagasse fermented by using the various levels of sago flour (0%, 5%, 10% and 15% from sample total) and kept at room temperature for 21 day in an-aerobic condition. Parameters measured in this study were DM, CP, CF, pH, OM, IVDMD (in vitro dry matter digestibility), IVOMD (in vitro organic matter digestibility). The model used for the statistical analysis was completely randomized design (CRD). The results of the first study indicated that length of incubation was not significantly affect (P>0.05) on crude fiber content but had significant effect (P<0.05) on crude protein content but only for control treatment. For the second study concluded that administration of the various levels of sago flour into ammoniated sugarcane bagasse fermented with T.harzianum significantly influenced (P<0.05) on OM, IVDMD and IVOMD but had not significantly effect on pH value. The results of the study indicated that application 10% of soluble carbohydrate from sago flour was recommended for fermentation process based on the results of in vitro and fermented feed quality studies.

Abstract

ABSTRAKJerami padi memiliki kualitas yang rendah, hal ini karena jerami padi memiliki kadar protein kasar rendah dan serat kasar yang tinggi serta lignin dan silika tinggi, mineral, kecernaan dan palatabilitas yang rendah. Peningkatan daya guna jerami padi untuk dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak maka perlu dilakukan perbaikan kualitas nutrisi pakan dan kecernaannya. Sebagai limbah tanaman tua, jerami padi mengalami lignifikasi lanjut yang menyebabkan terjadinya ikatan kompleks antara lignin, selulosa dan hemiselulosa yang disebut lignoselulosa (Eun et al., 2006). Pengolahan jerami dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara yaitu: amoniasi, fermentasi dan gabungan amoniasi dan fermentasi (amofer). Pengolahan jerami padi dengan cara fermentasi adalah pengolahan yang dilakukan secara biologi dengan penambahan mikroba yang bekerja secara anaerob. Proses fermentasi biasanya menggunakan mikroba aktif yang berfungsi untuk mempercepat proses penguraian bahan dan meningkatkan nilai nutrisi bahan, salah satunya dengan menggunakan Saus Burger Pakan (SBP). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas nutrisi jerami padi yang difermentasi dengan Saus Burger Pakan, yang meliputi bahan kering, serat kasar, protein kasar dan kadar abu.Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Teknologi Pakan Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syah Kuala, yang dilakukan  pada bulan April 2017 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2017. Materi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jerami padi dan Saus Burger Pakan (SBP) dengan penambahan 5% molases, tepung sagu 3% dan 0,1% urea secara homogen. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan JP0  merupakan kontrol tanpa SBP (0% SBP), perlakuan JP1 (2% SBP), perlakuan JP2 (3% SBP) dan JP3 (4% SBP). Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase bahan kering, serat kasar, protein kasar dan abu dengan menggunakan metode analisis proksimat. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam/Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan yang diuji. Apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan, maka akan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test/DMRT) (Steel dan Torrie, 1998).Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan Saus Burger Pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap persentase bahan kering dan serat kasar serta terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antar perlakuan Saus Burger Pakan, sedangkan terhadap persentase protein dan abu memperlihatkan tidak adanya pengaruh nyata (P>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Saus Burger Pakan dalam jerami padi  sampai dengan 4% belum optimal, hal ini dikarenakan aktivitas mikroba dalam proses fermentasi sangat dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan nutrisi dari substrat itu sendiri maupun nutrisi yang ditambahkan ke dalam media fermentasi sehingga dalam pemenuhan nutrisi untuk pertumbuhannya masih kurang. Penggunaan Saus Burger Pakan untuk peningkatan kualitas jerami padi sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia belum efesien ditinjau dari persentase bahan kering, serat kasar dan abu yang masih tinggi, sedangkan persentase protein kasarnya masih cenderung rendah.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Program Studi Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala dan dilanjutkan dengan pengiriman sampel penelitian ke Laboratorium Ternak Perah Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) untuk pengujian kecernaan secara in vitro. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji kecernaan secara in vitro complete feed berbahan dasar ampas sagu dengan teknik fermentasi yang berbeda.Pembuatan complete feed disusun sesuai dengan kebutuhan ternak domba. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas 5 ulangan. Perlakuan 1 (kontrol) adalah complete feed tanpa penambahan Saus Burger Pakan (SBP) dan tanpa fermentasi, perlakuan 2 adalah ampas sagu difermentasi dengan SBP selama 14 hari kemudian dicampur menjadi complete feed dan difermentasi hingga 21 hari, sedangkan perlakuan 3 adalah ampas sagu + complete feed kemudian difermentasi dengan SBP selama 21 hari. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah pH, Bahan Kering (BK), Bahan Organik (BO), Koefisien Cerna Bahan Kering (KCBK), dan Koefisien Cerna Bahan Organik (KCBO). Hasil pengamatan menyimpulkan bahwa, teknik fermentasi yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap semua parameter yang diamati, yaitu pH, BK, BO, KCBK dan KCBO. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai kecernaan complete feed berbahan dasar ampas sagu dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan teknik fermentasi. Digestibility Evaluation In Vitro Complete Feed Fermentation Sago Residues Based with Different Fermentation Techniques Abstract: This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Studies, Program study Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Syiah Kuala and continued with the delivery of sample to the Laboratory of Dairy Cattle Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB) for testing of in vitro digestibility. The purpose of this study was to test in vitro digestibility of complete feed made from  the residues of sago with different fermentation techniques. Complete feed was arranged based on the needs of sheep. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and each treatment consisted of 5 replicates. Treatment 1 (control) was a complete feed without the addition of Saus Burger Pakan (SBP) and without fermentation, treatment 2 was sago residu  fermented with SBP for 14 days and then mixed into a complete feed and fermented up to 21 days, whereas treatment 3 was the sago residue + complete feed then fermented with SBP for 21 days. The parameters observed in this study were pH, Dry Matter (BK), Organic Matter (BO), Dry Matter digestibility coefficients (KCBK), and Organic Matter Digestibility Coefficient (KCBO). The result influence showed that, different fermentation technique was significantly (P <0.01) all parameters, namely pH, BK, BO, KCBK and KCBO. It can be concluded that the digestibility of complete feed made from sago residue influenced by differences in fermentation techniques

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Experiment were conducted to evaluate fermentation characteristics (pH, NH3, VFA), On degration in sacco degration neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent insoluble nitrogen (NDIN) of feed particle in the rumen. Two fistulated Friesien Holstein grade of each feeding used in this research. The ration in given similar with the sample to measured the degration in the rumen are corn stover (CST) and sugar cane top (SCT). Disappearance of the NDF, ADF, and NDIN in the rumen was calculated based on the incubation time and using an exponential negative modwl Y= a + b (1-e-ct) from Orskov and Mc Donald, (1979). Values of a,b and c fraction were used to calculate theoretical degradation DT=a+ ((b.c)/(c+Kp)) with the assumption  of flow of particle (Kp) is about 5 %/hour. The results on fermentation characteristics of feeding corn stover give ph about 6.54 ± 0.16; N-NH3 about 7.36 ± 3.10 mg/100 ml and VFA about 64.84 ± 10.82 mmol/1, whilst for feeding sugar can to give ph about 6.54 ± 0.14; NH3 about 2.62 ± 0.85 mg/100 ml and VFA about 44.13 ± 6.7 mmol/1. The microbe activity of the degration (DT) borh fed were not significantly different for NDF and ADF but for NDIN showed significantly different (P<0.05) among feeds. This results show that there utilization of single feeds corn stover and sugar can top are not optimal for microbe activity, however the values degradation of fiber fraction were above 30%.

Abstract

(The differences of passage rate of feed particles from various crude fiber feed in dairy cattle rumen)ABSTRACT. The differences of passage rate particles is considerably influenced by different feed consumption relating to the nature of feed, types of animals, and physiological status of animals. The purpose of this experiments was to measure differences of passage rate feed particles at various crude fiber feed in cows’ rumen. This experiment used two cows of fistulated crossed breed Frisian Holland (PFH), non-productive with the age of 4-5 years. Feed observed in this experiments were peanut straw, corn straw and sugar cane straw and fed as single feed. Method applied to measure passage rate was chrome mordanse/chrome and NDF as marker introduced through fistulated rumen. All data were analyzed by using regression. The value of passage rate (Kp) was about 3,7% per hour for peanut straw, and 2,5% per hour for corn straw and sugar cane straw. Kp value of peanut straw was higher than that of corn straw and sugar cane straw. The highest value of Kp for peanut srtaw was due to better quality of peanut straw compared to corn straw and sugar cane straw in which peanut straw contained high level of protein and low level of Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF). The differences of chemical composition of crude fiber feed from peanut straw with high level of protein and low level of NDF compared to corn straw and sugar cane straw resulted in degradation of feed by microbial rumen was higher, low rumination. It caused higher passage rate of feed.
