EFEKTIVITAS IVERMECTIN DAN FIPRONIL DALAM MENGATASI SERANGAN CAPLAK PADA ANJING = THE EFFECTIVENESS OF IVERMECTIN AND F1PRONIL FOR TICK ERADICATION IN DOG

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ivermectin dan fipronil dalam mengatasi serangan caplak pada anjing. Penelitian. menggunalcan 16 ekor anjing dengan !criteria bebas parasit, baik ektoparasit maupun endoparasit. Anjing dibagi secara acak menjadi 4 kelompok, masing-masing 4 ekor. Kelompok I dan 11 dibuat sebagai kelompok infestasi ringan, dan kelompok dan IV sebagai kelompok berat. Kelompok I dan m diberi pengobatan injeksi subkutan ivermectin 1% dengan dosis 400 µg/kg BB. Kelompok II dan IV diberi pengobatan fipronil 3 ml/kg BB dengan cara disemprotkan pada anjing dan diratakan dengan telapak tangan. Pengobatan diulang selang 4 minggu untuk menghindari terjadinya infestasi ulang. Waktu hilangnya caplak terns diikuti, dengan jalan menghitung jumlah caplak dewasa setiap hari sekali, sejak pemberian obat pertama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pengobatan denganfipronil lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan ivermectin, untuk infestasi caplak ringan, (2) pengobatartfiprond pada infestasi caplak ringan, akan lebih efektif dengan pemberian dua kali selang 4 minggu.

Abstract

The unique of Python reticulatus has been studied, however the correlation of the length and body weighthavent studied yet. This objective ofthe research was to study the correlation of the tail and the body length ofPython reticulatus. Ten Python reticulatus, 2 weeks of old, were used in this research. The snakes wereplaced in individually cage at room temperature, consumed I to 2 mice and white mouse weekly and water adlibitum. The tail and body length of the snakes were measured at the beginning and the end of this research.The datas were analyzed using correlation regretion method. The result of this experiment showed that therewas a significan correlationbetweenthe lengthand body weight (R=O,85).The result of this research showedthat there is a significan correlation with R=O,98 in male snake, and R=O,71 in female snake. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this experiment was to study the effect of BCG vaccination on phagocyte activity and ROI secretion in cat peritoneum macrophages which infected with M.tuberculosis. The experiment used twenty four healthy cats. The animals were divided in 2 groups, 12 cats in each group. Group I were vaccinated with BCG, group II were control group which unvaccinated. BCG vaccination was done twice in two weeks interval. Two days after vaccination each cat was infected by 105 cfu M.tuberculosis intraperitoneally. The activity of macrophages were measured  at 1st, 2nd, 12th, and 24th, after infection using in vitro latex bead phagocyte and NBT reduction assay. Three cats were used to measure the macrophage activity in each period, using triplicate sample for each cat. The results of the experiment showed that the phagocyte activity and ROI secretion increased significantly in vaccination group (P<0.01) compared with the control group, and these activities reached to the plateau level at 2 weeks after infection. Although these enhanced activities were gradually diminished thereafter, higher levels of these activities were consistently observed until the end of experiment compared with control group. Abstract

Early diagnosis is one of the important methods to  control tuberculosis because this disease is zoonotic which easily spread through the air. Early detection of tuberculosis in dog is also very important since dog as petanimal have a potency to transfer the disease to human or other animals. The discovery of two specific M.tuberculosisantigens, ESAT06 and CFP-10, provide the opportunity to developa specific diagnostic kit for tuberculosis by using ELISA based on the secretion of IFN-γ. The development of a tuberculosis diagnostic kit based on this molecular biology and immunological method would provide a good alternative method to detect tuberculosis specially, accurately as early as possible. The result of this experiment would provide contribution for the development of health science and technology, especially in the eradication of tuberculosis. Keywords: diagnosis, tuberculosis, ESAT-6, CFP-10, interferon-gamma.

Abstract

elah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran darah kucing yang diinfeksi dengan M.tuberculosis. Penelitian menggunakan 20 ekor kucing sehat (jantan, umur 1-2 tahun, berat badan 1-2 kg) dibagi dalam 4 kelompok secara acak, masing-masing kelompok 5 ekor. Kelompok I adalah kelompok yang diinfeksi secara per oral (PO) M.tuberculosis dengan dosis 1x105 cfu, kelompok II diinfeksi secara intraperitoneal (IP), kelompok III diinfeksi secara intramuskular (IM), dan kelompok IV sebagai kelompok kontrol tidak diinfeksi. Setelah dilakukan infeksi, secara periodik 5 ml darah diambil untuk dilakukan pemeriksaan darah rutin, yaitu pada minggu ke0, 1, 2, 4, 12, dan 24 setelah infeksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran lekosit kucing yang diinfeksi M.tuberculosis pada awal infeksi mengalami lekositosis dengan neutrofilia, kemudian gambaran bergeser ke monositosis pada petengahan (minggu ke-12) sampai akhir penelitian (minggu ke-24). Iumlah eritrosit, nilai PCV, kadar Hb dan TPP masih dalam batas kisaran normal namun ada kecenderungan term menurun pada akhir penelitian.
