Abstract

Effect of internodes number and growth regulators on the growth and yield of M. piperita. L.The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of internodes number and growth regulators on M. pepita. The experiment was conducted at The Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops from July 21 to October 25, 1988. The experimental design was consisted of a randomized block design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the number of internodes (1, 2 and 3 internodes) and the second factor was the growth regulators, 2.4-D (Hidrasil) 0.5 ml/l, nitroaromatic (Atonik) 1:2000, auxin + cytikinine (Sitozim) 2.5 ml/l and control. Research indicated that two internodes and 2,4-D or auxin + cytokinine tended to increase the shoot length, number of branches and dry weight of plant. There were no interaction between the number of internodes and growth regulators.

Abstract

Effect of growth regulators on the growth of cutting cloveTo produce homogenous planting material a study of vegetative propagation of cutting clove was done by using several growth regulator. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of growth regulators on the cutting growth. The experiment was conducted at the Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops, bogor, West Java from February to July 1987. Randomized block design with 6 treathments and 4 replications was used. The treatment consist of control, Rootone F, Bioroota, Strike, Murphy and Seradix. The result showed that growth regulator was not significantly effect all parameters tested on observed. Compare with control, growth regulators tend to produce more roots, shoots and roots percentage and roots length. Testing with other growth regulators should be done to find out the effective growth regulator to increase the clove cutting growth.

Abstract

Effect of atonik and gandasil D on the growth and yield of peppermintExperimrnt were conducted in green houseResearch Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops at Bogor from February to April 1988, to know effect of atonik and gandasil D on the growth and yield of peppermint. Randomize block design in factorial order 2 factor and 3 replicates was used. The first factor is atonik concentration with 3 level, without atonik (A0), atonik 0.5 ml/l (A1) and atonik 1.0 ml/l (A2), while the second factor is gandasil D concentration i.e. without gandasi D (G0), gandasil D 2 gram/l (G1) and gandasil D 3 mg/l (G2). The experiment result showed that using atonik and gandasil D significant affected on the number of branches compared control but not on length of main shoot. The higher dry weight of herbs was reached by gandasil D 3 g/l.

Abstract

Influence of cutting material and loliage fertilizer on the growth and yield of patchouli.A study was carried out at the green house of Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops Bogor in 1987, to evaluate the effect of cutting material and foliage fertilizer on the growth and yield of patchouli. This experiment was designed in a completely randomized block design arranged factorially with 3 replication. The factors were cutting material (basal, middle and top) and foliage fertilizer (control, Gandasil D, and Floran). The result showed that all observed variable were not significant affected by cutting material. Using foliage fertilizer were significantly affected on the number of leaves and dry weight of plant compared with control. However, no significant different between Gandasl D and Floran. Further study should be conducted in field condition.

Abstract

Akar wangi merupakan salah satu tanaman penghasil minyak atsiri yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi. Lingkungan tumbuh yang optimal untuk pengembangan areal yang luas belum diketahui secara persis. Untuk itu telah dilakukan penelitian di daerah sentra produksi Desa Sukakarya Kemacatan Samarang, Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat pada bulan Desember 1988. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lokasi pertanaman memiliki jenis tanah Andosol dengan ketinggian 1400 m dpl., tekstur tanah lempung berpasir, pH masam sampai agak masam (5,1-5,7), N rendah sampai sedang, C-organik sedang sampai tinggi, susunan kation dapat tukar yaitu Ca rendah sampai sedang, Mg rendah sampai sedang, K rendah sampai sedang, Na antara rendah dan sedang, sedangkan keadaan iklimnya memiliki curah hujan 2365,7 mm/tahun, hari hujan 158,1 hari, temperatur rata-rata 21oC, dan kelembaban rata-rata 95%.
