Abstract

An explorative survey on obstetrics drug cost had been conducted in three hospitals, in Jakarta. The three hospitals were type B governmental hospital, private hospital (I) has 200 beds hospital and private hospital (II) has 170 beds respectively. Medical record data were collected. They were collected purposively, 10% of population number, started from January-May1997 (before crisis) and January-May 1998 (during crisis). The sample size both at the Governmental hospital and at the private hospital were (I) before crisis 112, and during crisis 113, at the private hospital (II) both of before and dunng crisis 75 samples respectively. Results showed that the quality of medical records in 3 hospitals selected still have not clear, complete and correct yet. Drug services profile showed that theres no significant differences between before and during crisis at the governmental hospital. It was identified that drug supplied 1- 3 items, 4-6 items and more than 7 items. Meanwhile at the private hospital (I) showed that theres significant differences, especially when drug supplied 1- 3 items increase from 31,8% before crisis, up to 53,4% during crisis. Evenly, the private hospital (II) drug supplied 1-3 items increased from 47,4% before crisis, up to 63,7% during crisis. Obstetrics drug cost for 7 item drugs supplied increased from Rp. 74.000,- (before crisis) up to Rp. 152.000,- (during crisis). Similarly at the private hospital (II) the drug cost for obstetrics cases increased by two times for 7 item drug supplied, that was Rp.198.000,- to Rp.406.000,-. Theres no difference between before and during crisis for generic drug utilization even at the Governmental Hospital or private hospitals. Since drug cost of some diseases might be compared by a different period, the samples must be in a sizeable for getting a responsible value. Key words: expenses, drugs, obstetrics

Abstract

Health services improvement to the elderly research has been done in 6 public health centers selected in Jakarta. It was a quasi experiment, used an area control for comparation. The respondents were the patients who 55 years old and over (elderly), lived in surrounding the public health center, collected since 1996 to May 1998. The number of respondents for each public health center 50 persons male and female.The intervention covered communication, information and education to the health providers and the respondents as well. Besides, they also has been dental observed covered plaque indexand calculus index, to get the oral hygiene index.The primary data collected were the characteristics of respondents, the knowledge of thedental health, and the dental observation for the respondents has been conducted before andafter intervention. While the secondary data were the dental health program for the elderly information. The activities of monitoring has been done 4 times during 4 months, and descriptive analysed was the last activity.The results showed that the knowledge of the elderly on dental health was improve afterintervention, and they more realized that sustain dental observation was very important activity for a certain interval of time.Recommendation: Improvement the dental observation in public health center, especiallyfor the elderly, as well as the communication, information, and education about dental health program continously will be very usefull. Key words: Dental Care; Aged

Abstract

This cross sectional study was conducted in Banyuasin District, South Sumatera Province. The general objective of the study is to assess the community perceptions on the health system responsiveness, access to services and quality of health care in Puskesmas. Data collection was conducting by exit interviews using structured instruments on 242 outpatients in selected Puskesmas and Focus Group Discussion in Petaling village. Interview was carried out to assess respondent perception in  4 dimensions: Good Public Image; Access to Health Services; Personnel Performance; and Client Preference. In general, most of Respondents were not satisfied with the health services in Puskesmas. The aspects which assessed not good were on physical performance of Puskesmas building and personnel performance. The effort to improve and maintain patient s satisfaction is should be continuously programmed in order to achieve good quality of health care in Puskesmas. Key words: quality, health service, perception and responsiveness

Abstract

Reproductive health is very crucial for Indonesia because the population of Indonesia is more than 200 million people. In addition, about a half million women, mostly in developing countries, die each year from pregnancy related causes. In regarding with this issue, a reproductive health survey had been conducted in East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. This was reproductive health survey on pre-pregnant women aged 15-24 years. The objectives of the survey were to assess the knowledge of respondents on issues related to reproductive health: health pregnancy, sexuality and fertility, family planning, HIV/AIDS and other sexual diseases. Furthermore, the study described the relationship between these knowledge with respondents attitude and behaviors. The study was also to determine anemia and nutrition status of the respondents. The design was a cross-sectional survey (household survey), using cluster sampling. The population was all pre-pregnant women aged 15-24 years in 2-sub districts of East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. For each sub-district, clusters (villages) are selected using Probability Proportionate to Size (PPS) method. Results showed that the majority of respondents (> 60%) only have little knowledge on reproductive health issues. In addition, the study described that there were relationship between knowledge with attitude and behavior of the respondents. However, the knowledge of the respondents on anemia did not support their anemia status.  Keywords: reproductive health, pre-pregnant women, knowledge, attitude, and behavior

Abstract

Background: For years heart disease prevalence have increased. Results of Basic Health Research (known as riset Kesehatan Oasar-Riskesdas) 2007 showed that heart disease is the second major cause of death after stroke inmortality cases in Indonesia. As a matter of fact, other researches results indicate that smoking as a risk factor for heart disease and most of smoker are poor people. Indonesian government guarantees the poor to get free medical treatment through Jamkesmas program (social assistance program in health sector for the poor). In 2007 Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital (RSCM) noted that 60% of heart disease patients treated in this hospital is poor. The trends of cases and government budget to control heart disease are always increasing. Objective of this study was to know smoker prevalence, food consumption and activity for participants JAMKESMAS and also to know risk factor of heart disease for them Methods: Cross sectional was utilized as the study design The Riskesdas and Susenas 2007 data was used in this research. All research variables had been analyzed in univariat, bivariat (X2 test) and multivariat (logistic regression) by using a complex sample in SPSS v16. Results: The results shows that smokers Jamkesmas are most in aged 3-4 years do enough physical activities, and less eating fruits and vegetables, 1.8% of Jamkesmas smokers had diagnosed heart disease by health personnel. Based on statistical analysis, physical activity, fruit and vegetable consumption, smoking, gender and age is risk factor of heart disease. Key words: Heart, Tobacco, Jamkesmas
