Abstract

Da’wah (Islamic mission) is an effort and a transformation of Islamic teachings. Many aspects such as sociology, politics, economy, culture, science, etc influence the process of da’wah. Multi-interpretation to the Islamic teachings has also brought about different experiences in implementing the Islamic teachings. This can be seen from the emergence of sects and religious movements in society. Abstract

This paper proves that the doctrine of scientific objectivism which then leads as the final truth in the world of science is only a figment, due to the fact that the main method used in the world of science it self contains a lot of weaknesses. Abstract

Mathematical thinking is necessary in mathematics learning especially in college level. One of activities in undergraduate mathematics learning is proving. This article describes students’ thinking process who unable to construct mathematical formal proof. The description uses APOS Theory to explore students’ mental mechanism and students’ mental structure while they do proving. This research is qualitative research that conducted on students majored in mathematics education in public university in Banten province, Indonesia. Data was obtained through asking students to solve proving-task using think-aloud and then following by interview based task. Results show that the students could not construct a formal proof because they unable to appear encapsulation process. They merely enable to think interiorization and coordination. Based on the results, some suitable learning activities should designed to support the construction of these mental mechanism.

Abstract

The performance of blade cascade is influenced by the growth and boundary layers separation along blade surface and endwall (casing and hub). The secondary flow which happens near hub and casing compressors is three dimentional flow separation phenomenon comes from interaction blade boundary layer with casing and hub boundary layers in the compressor. The secondary flow causes secondary losses, blockage effect, and turning angle (deflection) distribution along blade span. The result of the research shows that the increase of the angle of attack reveals lines of constan pressure to be curved forward (upstream) or pressure gives rise to spanwise caused by a strong curl flow. Separation is also increase and cross between two blades. Hence, three dimentional separation region in corner also increase.

Abstract

Para pembahas di semua disiplin sependapat tentang eksistensi akal pada manusia sebagai instrumen terpenting, sekaligus sebagai jati diri dan pembeda dari makhluk Allah lainnya. Al-Qur’an tidak mendefenisikan akal secara sarih, namun dapat ditangkap maknanya ketika ia menerangkan tentang fungsi-fungsi akal bagi manusia seperti untuk mengenal, mengkaji tentang diri, alam dan Allah. Simpulannya, menurut al-Qur’an, akal bagi manusia itu adalah jati dirinya. Dengan begitu, maka Informasi dari al-Qur’an ternyata searah dengan apa yang disampaikan oleh para ilmuwan di berbagai disiplin; bahkan justru lebih memperkuat sekaligus memberi tekanan khusus pada hal-hal tertentu, yang tidak mereka bicarakan, terutama dalam hal akibat (dunia dan akhirat) bila akal itu tidak difungsikan oleh manusia. Apabila manusia memanfaatkan potensi akalnya dengan sungguh-sungguh, ia akan dapat mengorbit menjadi manusia pilihan dengan SDM yang berkualitas dan dengan jati diri terpuji di sisi Allah swt.

Abstract

Dalam melakukan proses berpikir mengonstruksi bukti formal matematis, tentunya mahasiswa berusaha untuk membentuk skema kognitif yang lengkap dalam pikirannya. Skema kognitif ini dapat dipotret menggunakan Cognitive Mapping. Cognitive Mapping merupakan model mental dalam bentuk gambar yang mencerminkan pemahaman seseorang. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, yang dilakukan pada 6 mahasiswa Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa yang telah mengambil mata kuliah Teori Bilangan dengan mengerjakan soal secara think aloud, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan wawancara berbasis soal tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skema berpikir mahasiswa dapat dikategorikan dan dimodelkan dalam 4 kuadran proses berpikir mahasiswa dalam mengonstruksi bukti formal matematis.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process in the mathematics undergraduate program emphasizes on the use of an axiomatic system and formal deduction. In this process, the students learn continuously about mathematical evidence, which can be referred to as the ability to build arguments based on their mathematical understanding. This article aims at describing the characteristics of students comprehension in constructing a mathematical evidence. A qualitative approach is applied in this study, which involves third-year students of Mathematics Education Department at the state university in Banten. Interviews are conducted to find out and clarify how the students construct and build mathematical evidence. The result shows that the students mathematical proof of comprehension can be classified into three types: holistic-global, partial-global, and partial-local. It is expected that the result of the study can be used as a source of consideration in determining appropriate learning strategies that can overcome students difficulties in constructing a mathematical evidence.

Abstract

In the process of cooling or refrigeration, are required components where capable to flow the fluid to create a cycle of the cooling process. Among some of the vapor compression systems, the usage of ejector is the simplest system. Ejector has three main parts: primary nozzle, mixing chamber and diffuser. Various experiments of steam ejectors developed to increase the value of the COP. Entrainment ratio directly affects to the COP value generated by the system, where the geometric shapes and operating conditions in the steam ejector will affect to the value entrainment ratio. This research was carried out numerical simulations using CFD commercial software with k-epsilon to predict flow phenomena which passes through the ejector nozzle in the ejector converging-diverging which varying exit diameters 3.5 mm; 4mm; 5 mm; and 5.5 mm. Respectively the simulation results showed exit nozzle steam ejector that the smallest diameter of 3.5 mm give the optimum performance because it provide the highest speed of fluidity. While the state of vacuum in mixing chamber increase, it cause the secondary mass flow higher as well as the value of the entrainment ratio.

Abstract

Energy crisis engulfing the world recently has become people’s concern in finding new energy sources which are cheaper and available in the large numbers. The alternative is energy source to drive a turbine. In this case, water will gradually change its potential energy to be kinetic energy which then becomes mechanic energy to move turbine shaft. In this way, the yielded power source can drive other tools needed such as generator which produces electric current. The turbine used in the research was pelton turbine with inverter. The comparison of various lamp power i.e.3,5,9, and 12 watts was analyzed. The data collection was conducted on variables of water capacity, voltage, electric curent, electric power, and hydraulic power. The highest electric power 1.761 watts happened on the lamp power 9 watts and valve opening 900 . This lamp had maximum values of capacity (Q) 1.565x10-3 m3 /s, voltage 0,2 V, electric current 7,87 A, electric power 1.761 watt, and hydraulic power 7.571 watts.
