Abstract

The research analyzes the financial resources, intangible assets (innovation capital, human capital, and customer capital), competitive advantage and financial performance, also analyzing its effect and analyzing business feasibility from the point view of Net Present Value (NPV), Profitability Index (PI), Payback Period (PP) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) on cow commodities, corn and seaweed (PIJAR). The method used is qualitative and quantitative, the respondent are choose by purposive sampling with the criteria of SME which conduct their business on cow commodities, corn and seaweed at Lombok NTB Region. This research is using the Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis which is a statistical method on varian basis. The research results obtained by the Financial Resource Capacity has well sufficient capacity of (3.29), Intangible Asset have well sufficient capacity of (3.86), well good for Competitive Strategy Excellence Cost of (3.92) and quite good Financial Performance. The influence among variables on the seaweed commodities : (1) Financial Resource does not affect the financial performance and price competitive competition, so the financial resources capacity is well good, although its not yet able to contribute on the financial performance; (2) Innovation capital affect on financial performances but do not affect on competitive strategy; human capital affect on the financial performance and competitive strategy; customer capital affect on the financial performance and competitive strategy; and (3) The business feasibility for PIJAR commodities are very well based on the view point of NPV, PP, PI and IRR.

Abstract

Study of quality management implementation in Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) nata de coco industry in the city of Bogor. The purpose of this study are: (1) to see what extent the application of quality management in the SME sector, Agro-food industry processed commodities nata de coco in the City of Bogor, (2) the relationship between the level of implementation of quality management on the performance of SMEs Agro-industrial sector Prepared Food commodities nata de coco in the City of Bogor.  Analysis of the application of quality management level with the company´s performance against the trend ratio analysis of financial performance and trend of non-financial performance. The trend of financial performance ratios in the analysis of: (a) the ratio of net income, (b) the ratio Net Present Margin (NPM), (c) the ratio of profits to capital (Return on Equity or ROE). Trend analysis performed on non-financial performance: (a) the type of production, (b) the volume of production, (c) the number of customer.  The aspects quality control of quality management activities on nata de coco industry has not fully implemented. Improved financial performance in industries that had reached stage Quality Control System (QCS): (a) the trend of the ratio of net income increased to the MMI 5%, (b) trend ratio of NPM rising increased against Mitra Makmur Industri (MMI) 4%, and (c) trend ratio of ROE increased against MMI 2%. Non-financial performance improved in the industry that had reached stage QCS: (a) trend of type of production increased against AFG 58%, (b) trends in production volume increased against AFG 75%, and (c) the trend of the number of customer increased against AFG 105%. Relations with the level of implementation of quality management of financial performance will go toward growth when the industry is consistent in applying quality management so that the market receiving the product and the profits from the increasingly large. Application of quality management level contact with non-financial performance has increased consistently in the application so that when the market receives products that increase the production volume.

Abstract

Study of Aquarium Decorative Plant Business Prospect at Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group in Ciawi, Bogor Regency aims to identify the business feasibility in business development, formulating the right strategy in the business development, to evaluate the performance of Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group by using Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach and to identify partnership level category of aquarium decorative plant small industry.The result study was obtained the Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp. 188.455.000,00, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 38,63%, Profitability Index (PI) 1,15 and Net B/C ratio 1,67, indicating the this business is considered to be feasible to be grown. Calculation result of payback (PBP) this period was identified that the investment payback period is 2 years 3 months 18 days and shorter than investment life period for 5 years, so it is feasible and profitable. Based on result of strategy analysis by using Strenghts, Weaknesess, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis, the right strategy in the business development of Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group by maintaining and improving product quality in accordance with the customers wants, maintaining and improving the business/partnership relations with exporters and suppliers. The result of the analysis of Internal-External (IE) matrix showed an internal factor of 2.702 and an external factor of 2.516, which put the business in quadrant V, which are growth and stability. It means they must defend strategy that they have been using up till now, and they must increase developing strategy of business. Result of evaluation with  Balanced Scorecard (BSC) indicates that financial performance from 2003-2007 in aquarium decorative plant business at  Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group was fairly good seen from liquidity, solvability, efficiency in taking advantage of assets,  net profits obtained, effectiveness and productivity in making use of assets owned and in receivables collection. Based on the result of study from customer perception with six attribute dimensions the service quality is fairly satisfactory. Seeing from after sales service level, operation/production process and innovation process show that internal business of Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group is considered fairly good. Observing from performance aspect, organizational restructuring aspect, learning dynamic aspect, group member satisfaction level aspect, knowledge management aspect, empowerment aspect and technology application aspect indicate that from growth and learning perspectives at Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group is considered fairly good. Partnership level between Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group with PT. Nusantara Aquatic Exporindo and CV. Cahaya Baru is included in First Prime Partnership Level. While the partnership level between Bunga Air “Aqua Plantindo” Business Group with CV. Tropical Aquatic is included in Secondary Prime Partnership Level.   Key words:  aquarium decorative plant, business service, partnership

Abstract

Nutmeg oil is one of essential oil products of economically important nutmeg commodities. Many of nutmeg oil’s product were used for food’s industry, such as astringent, cosmetics, soap, and medicines. The objectives of this research, were to get a good quality nutmeg oil as raw material for nutmeg oil’s downstream industry, to analize the feasibility of the construction of the industry, and to formulate developing strategy of nutmeg oil’s downstream industry in Bogor Regency. The data were collected by experts use exponential comparisons method (MPE) to choose appropriate destilation method of nutmeg oil, a product that will be develop in Bogor and also potential location to develop the industry’s fabric. To know appropriate strategy to empower the Bogor Regency’s society by means of the industry, first it was necessary to know the position of downstream industry using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis and to formulate appropriate strategy using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The appropriate destilation method of nutmeg oil that were choosen by experts is direct steam method, the product that were choosen by experts is cosmetic’s product, and the potential location is Ciomas Regency. Based on feasibility analysis nutmeg oil downstream industry has potencial prospect in Bogor Regency. Market aspect shows that the industry is very needed in Bogor.  The human resource aspect also shows that there are a lot of productive ages that can be required in the industry. Financial aspect signed that investation of the industry bring profit based on Net Present Value (NPV) that is Rp. 4.362.473.952, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 47,2% per year with discount rate 16,5% and 8% per year, Payback Period (PBP) 11,5 month, and Benefit/Cost (B/C) ratio 1,11. SWOT analysis showed that nutmeg oil downstream industry located at second quadrant. It means that the industry supported aggressive strategy, and by used this analysis we can formulate seven alternative strategies. The appropriate strategy to empower The Bogor  Regency’s society by means cosmetic’s industry is extensification of nutmeg area and corporate community relationship.   Key words: developing strategy, downstream industry, feasibility, nutmeg oil, prospect industry

Abstract

Shrimp is one of the leading commodities of the fisheries. Quality seed is one of the critical success factors of the cultivation so that the business activities of hatchery hatcheries should adopt the technique in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and apply a quality management of seed of the Good Fish Breeding mode (CPIB) or Good Hatchery Practices (GHP). The aim of this thesis include (1) knowing the level of implementation of quality management in small to medium (SME’s) shrimp hatchery in and (2) analyze the relationship between the level of implementation of quality management on firm performance. Location of the research conducted on shrimp hatchery units located in the districts of Situbondo and Banyuwangi, both who have or have not passed the certification mode of CPIB. Data collection methods include interviews and observation. Level of implementation of quality management in shrimp hatcheries in both East Java that has been certified or not, is at a fairly high level, at three different levels, namely level of Quality Control (QC) Statistics (42.9%), Quality Assurance or QA (21.4%) and 35.7% at the level of implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM). From all levels of implementation of SQC quality management, QA and TQM, there are four predominant factors that could affect the company´s performance, namely: cost efficiency, the percentage of undergraduate (S1), human resource (HR) Percentage training per year and the percentage of customer complaints. Policies need to be taken to the level of TQM is to conduct QC management so that the dominant factors that can provide high business performance can be maintained, to the level of SQC is to conduct QC activities are synchronized with the training activities is appropriate, considering the level of training at this level relatively very low. While the policy needed to be taken to the level of QA is the need to improve the quality fry strived to meet the established minimum standards and will be even better if the feasibility of obtaining certification so it will be able to improve the competitiveness of selling fries, both quantity and price. A guaranteed quality of production need to be given this level has a number of customer complaints is very high compared to the two other levels, well above average

Abstract

Micro and Small Enterprises has a strategic role in national economy, especially in employment absorption, increase incomes and generate economic activity. Since the economic crisis hit Indonesia in 1998, the role of MSEs increased sharply, as it turns out large-scale efforts many are fragile and fall caused by the economic crisis. The general objective of this study is to examine the outcome of the policy and provide input for decision-makers about the MSEs. Specifically this study aims to (1) Identify the types of assistance/aid and partnership provided by the government, private and cooperative services to MSEs, (2) Perform analysis of income levels MSE, (3) Perform analysis of the effect of assistance and partnership on income of MSEs. The analysis performed are descriptive analysis by cross tabulation and statistical inference by using the mean difference test, using analysis of variance (ANOVA), after performing the test assumptions. In general, from the 1.785 sample there are 48,29% of MSEs male entrepreneurs, and aged between 30-59 years (82,02%), with the majority of education is below elementary school (74,73%). MSEs receiving assistance/aid and partnership, its production capacity distributed at the level of 51-75 percent and 75% upwards. There is a 72,92% of MSEs that received assistance and partnerships who have difficulty. The results of inferential analysis indicate that there are significant differences at average benefit without treatment with MSE receiving assistance/aid and the MSE with partnership, but there is no significant difference between MSE without treatment with MSE with both receiving assistance/aid and partnerships

Abstract

Income regional per capita in South Lampung regency of Lampung Province in 2008 only about Rp 7.260.902, but in 2009 had increased to Rp8.620.637. This condition had not been able to overcome poverty and create sufficient jobs in rural areas, particularly in South Lampung regency. According in this condition South Lampung Regency became one of the target area for Rural Agribusiness Development Program (PUAP). In 2008 PUAP was distributed Rp3.492.040.000 to 35 Gapoktan and in 2009 was distributed 3.898.324.000 to 39 Gapoktan.  The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of PUAP in South Lampung regency. Suitability of planning to the implementation of farm activities; rural agribusiness development; microfinance development, and mentoring activities. This study used survey methods and data were collected by questionnaires and direct interviews to 86 respondens member of Gapoktan in South Lampung regency. Analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis. The direct result showed that after receiving PUAP, performance of small business agriculture in South Lampung regency became more effective. It was showed by distribution and utilization of assistance appropriate with the planning agricultural business growth, diversification of agricultural products, group capital increased and also role of extension in Complementary and PMT to guide the group. Abstract

Trade Facilitation Agreement mandates each member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including Indonesia, to simplify the trade system in order to facilitate trade flows between countries. Inatrade is an information technology-based system that was built by the Ministry of Trade that aims to provide services of export and/or import procedure fastrer and more transparent. In order to determine the effectiveness of Inatrade services, it is necessary to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators that influence to the improvement of the service quality. This study aims to determine the conditions of service horticultural products import license, to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators which influence services, and to formulate strategies needed to improve the quality of licensing services at the Ministry of Trade. The research used analytical tools of Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (IFE), External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFE), SWOT and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the result analiysis it was concluded that the licensing mechanism based integrated information technology and monitoring and evaluation system regularly including aspects of the systems, human resources and legal basis as a best strategy to improve the quality of services.

Abstract

The agricultural potential in Indonesia still becomes the excellence because Indonesia is the agrarian country. The role of agricultural sector in the national economy is empirically proven to be real enough both in quite normal economy and when the economy facing the crisis. This is seen from two important indicators i.e. the contribution to the sector of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the labor absorption that always dominates in the agricultural field.This is caused by the lack of competence of farmer to be able to develop in the agricultural sector. With this is needed the farmer competence in forming the farming capacity building so the farmer can play the role in the community and can compete in the current globalization era. Based on the above problem, the research aims to: (1) analyze how the competence is owned by the farmer in Sumatera, (2) obtain the picture of farmer superior competence model in Sumatera to form the capacity building of highland vegetable farmer, and (3) give any solution which should be done in order to be able to increase the farmer competence in Sumatera. In this research, for analyzing the farmer superior competence and the making of superior competence model in forming the capacity building of highland vegetable farming in Karo District, it is used the ISM, AHP, and IPA.

Abstract

Small, medium to large companies in the computerization era is required to satisfy the customer needs. The existence of internet allow customer to receive information over the world. internet usage has been used by UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi in 2016, but there are no significant impact on production or number of agents. This study has three main objectives that include the following: (1) to identify the implementation of information system in UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi, (2) to analyze the needs of information system to improve the company?s competitive advantages and (3) to identify and recommend appropriate business development strategy. Analysis data was used in this study are value chain analysis, five competitive forces porter and SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities dan Threats) analysis. Sample that used in this research was 2 respondents. This study showed that the use of information technology in UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi is not optimal. IFE score was 3,098 described that the strength owned by UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi can overcome it weakness fairly enough. EFE score was 3,339 described that UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi was good enough in responding the opportunity and minimize the threat. Score combination of EFE and IFE in IE matrix located in quadrant IV, grow and build. Strategy that fit to UD Vier 57 Sehat Bergizi was intensive strategy (market penetration, market development and product development). SWOT analysis produces 6 alternative strategy formula. Based on calculation in Quantitative Strategic Planning matrix, the most interesting strategy produced was increase marketing intensively and efficiently through online media.
