Abstract

This article aims to describe a variety of traditional expressions used by Using community at Banyuwangi in speaking. The variety of expressions is studied from the form, usage, and cultural meaning in communication. The data of traditional expression speech presented in the description sources from conversation of Using community in various speech situations. The result of the study shows that there are 6 categories of traditional expressions used in the Using speech community. The variety of the expressions used by the speaker to express a message, thoughts, feelings, or opinions to the speaking participan. Various things that can be conveyed through expression are praise, anger, aggravation, suggestions or advice, and pleasure. Using community utilizes the expressions to criticize, comment, ridicule, reassuring, stated, praising, reprimanding or blaming, complaining, remind, advise, and ask or beg. All of them are reflecting Using community culture in daily speech.

Abstract

Slogan is a striking and easily remembered statement or sentence used to advertise something or to make clear the aim(s) of group, organization, campaign, etc. The discourse consists of some propositions, but most are not explicitly uttered, called zero form propositions. Thus, slogan is a discourse that different from common discourses. Analysts or readers need to know the entire propsitions that constitute the slogan to understand what it means. They must understand the speech context and speech event that create and support the slogan. Therefore, a speech act approach is relevant to the analysis.

Abstract

Teaching Indonesian for Foreign Learners or Indonesian as a Foreign Language (IFL) is different from teaching Indonesian as a first language. The differences are due to the characteristics of the learners. IFL learners generally are adults who have language and cultural background and learning style different from those Indonesian learners have. These differences demand IFL teachers and instructors to prepare teaching-learning materials and the activities of the teaching-learning process in the classroom that are relevant to the learners’ needs. Understanding the entry level behavior of the learners, the teaching materials, the teaching-learning approach, and the evalution process is of crucial importance in order to fulfill their needs. Learning needs analysis of IFL learners is also a prerequisite to developing adequate teaching-learning materials of IFL.

Abstract

The Banyuwangi folksongs, which from theoretical perspective are an expression of the culture of Using people. The folksongs are cultural product of the Using ethnic, which is a result of the interaction of the Using people with their natural and social-cultural surroundings. As a cultural product, the utterance of this folksongs has distinct characteristics. The variety of vocabulary in an utterance reflects the dynamics on communication and social life of its speakers. The differences of cultural content in the vocabulary of the utterance are caused by the differences in the strategy of adaptation and perception pattern of the people towards the natural and social-cultural environment. For a language which does not have hierarchy of register, the utterance style of that language is used by its speakers as politeness strategy to distinguish the social classes in speech.

Abstract

This study was aimed to test feasibility multimedia appreciation folklore charged character education for student junior grade VII. The approach that was undertaken use qualitative and quantitative reseach. Subject pilot this reseach is one expert learning, one person media expert learning, practitioner, 5 (six) student on trial small group, and 30 (thirty) student on trial a large group. The trial court implemented in Junior High School 1 Praya Lombok Middle east. The data was undertaken through observation, charging chief, and guide documentation. Analysis quantitative data done by counting the percentage feasibility the product of the people of learning, media experts, practitioner, the results of the small group and results of the test a large group. The results of data qualitative presented in the form of exposure to. The research results show multimedia learning on all the step of experiment try is at the percentage very reasonable to be used as a media learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kelayakan multimedia apresiasi cerita rakyat bermuatan pendidikan karakter untuk siswa SMP Kelas VII. Pendekatan yang dilakukan menggunakan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek uji coba penelitian ini adalah satu orang ahli pembelajaran, satu orang ahli media pembelajaran, satu orang praktisi, enam siswa pada uji coba kelompok kecil, dan tiga puluh siswa pada uji coba kelompok besar. Uji coba lapangan dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Praya Timur Lombok Tengah. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui observasi, pengisian angket, dan panduan dokumentasi. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menghitung persentase kelayakan produk dari ahli pembelajaran, ahli media, praktisi, hasil uji kelompok kecil dan hasil uji kelompok besar. Hasil data kualitatif disajikan dalam bentuk paparan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan multimedia pembelajaran pada semua tahap uji coba berada pada persentase sangat layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

People need communication in their daily activities. The term cross cultural communication is used to refer to communication conducted by people of different culture. This type of communication normally occurs in a diglosic community where two or more ethnic groups live together. In conducting communication, each of the ethnic group will apply and share their language and socio-cultural norms accepted by each other. All participants of communication are tied by rules that live in the speech community. Although they attempt to obey the norms, culturally the characteristic of each ethnic is still observed at the verbal attitude of their speech. In this case, we can observe the characteristic of speech act usage when speaking to other etnics, especially to Javanese and Madurese. Some factors which influence the etnic groups to choose the verbal attitude are a social distance, power, social variable, and cultural values.

Abstract

The discourse of marriage tradition when viewed based on a theoretical point of view will result in a form of concepts, meanings, and functions. In this case, the discourse of the tradition in question is the discourse of the sorong serah aji krama tradition. The discourse of this tradition is found in the Lombok-Sasak area located in Jonggat Subdistrict, Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). The axes of aji krama contained in this area have levels ranging from the bottom of the so-called 33, 66, and 100. In this case, the study is to find the value contained in the level aji krama is also explained to the community that in the level of aji krama is not only limited to discourse or celebration in a mere cultural symbol, but contains the value of philosophical life. In this case, the method used in collecting data is an interview with a prominent traditional figure who knows the ins and outs of the tradition of handling the aji krama well. Thus, the data in this study is verbal aspect in the form of interviews related to the level of aji krama contained in the area. Data analysis in this case uses Hermeneutic’s Ricoeurs thinking framework that sees a text of three levels, namely semantic level, philosophical level, and level of existence. Based on the results of this study, thrust of aji krama as a tradition of marriage which also has aji aji krama level has a strong philosophical foundation. It can be seen from the level of aji 33 which shows an understanding of self, God, and all his power obtained through understanding the nature of Allah SWT. Aji 66 is a multilevel of understanding aji 33 approaching to the category of human being (rodiallah) and aji 100 is the highest category to the understanding of the nature of self and God and all forms of his power gained from a deep understanding of the 99 ulma asthma that leads to one form, that is Allah SWT. Thus, the understanding is a category of local wisdom that contains the value of character and is represented in the form of religious character.

Abstract

This paper aims at explaining the implementation of RAWAC (Reading and Writing across Curriculum) in teaching essay for college students. Using an action research based integrated with hermeneutic technique, this study was conducted in Kelompok Belajar Mahasiswa (Student Study Club) at Ganesha University of Education, Bali. The result of the study indicates that this model is able to synchronize the excellent aspects of reading-writing and metacognition as those give benefits to the students in terms of strengthening their critical thinking in exploring ideas, their discipline attitude during the process of planning, monitoring, and evaluating concepts, and also strengthening the students’ self-regulated learning in writing essay. Implementing RAWAC improve the students’ ability in writing essays, especially in exploring ideas, organizing the writing, choosing the diction and enhancing their writing technique.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan peraturan disiplin dalam meningkatkan kinerja PNS pada Kantor kecamatan Biringknaya Kota Makassar. Untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan peraturan disiplin pada kantor Kecamatan Biringkanaya Kota Makassar. Untuk itu penulis mengadakan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif mengenai peranan peraturan disiplin dan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan disiplin pada Kantor Kecamatan Biringkanya Kota Makassar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai negeri sipil yang ada pada Kantor Kecamatan Biringkanya Kota Makassar  yang berjumlah 23 orang. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 11 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Observasi dan wawancara sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Penerapan peraturan disiplin dalam lingkup kantor kecamatan biringkanaya kota Makassar pelaksanaannya tetap mengacu pada Peraturan yang berlaku namun pada kenyataannya ada beberapa hal yang belum terlaksana secara maksimal, masih adanya pegawai yang terlambat dan meninggalkan kantor pada jam kerja sikap pegawai yang seperti ini menghambat kinerja pelayanan untuk masyarakat. 2) Adapun kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam peraturan disiplin yaitu Masih Kurangnya kesadaran pegawai dalam menjalankan tugas serta tanggungjawab pekerjaan yang diberikan serta masih adanya sikap pegawai yang sering menunda dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan. Kata Kunci : Disiplin PNS, Kinerja This study aims to determine how the application of disciplinary rules in improving the performance of civil servants in the sub-district office Biringknaya Makassar. To find out the constraints encountered in the application of disciplinary rules at the district office Biringkanaya Makassar. To the authors conducted research using descriptive method on the role of disciplinary rules and constraints faced in the implementation of the discipline at the District Office Biringkanya Makassar. The population in this study were all civil servants who were there at the District Office Biringkanya Makassar City amounting to 23 people. The sample in this study was 11 people. Data collected through observation and interviews, while data analysis is done by qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study show that: 1) The application of disciplinary rules within the scope of the district office Biringkanaya Makassar implementation is still referring to the regulation in force but in reality there are some things that have not been implemented to its full potential, there are still employees who are late and left the office during working hours employee attitudes like these hamper the performance of services to the community. 2) The constraints faced in disciplinary regulations are still lack of awareness of employees in carrying out the duties and responsibilities given job and is still the attitude of employees who often delay in completing the work.Keywords: PNS Discipline, Performance

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:1) Pelaksanaan penguatan (reinforcement) guru dalam proses pembelajaran PKn di SMA Negeri 1 Lamuru Kec. Lamuru Kab. Bone. 2)Faktor yang menjadi pendukung dalam pelaksanaan penguatan (reinforcement) dalam proses pembelajaran PKn di SMA Negeri 1 Lamuru Kec. Lamuru Kab. Bone. 3) Apresiasi peserta didik terhadap pemberian penguatan (Reinforcemen) dalam proses pembelajaran PKn di SMA Negeri 1 Lamuru Kec. Lamuru Kab. Bone. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yang mana populasinya adalah seluruh guru Pkn Sma 1 Lamuru,  190 siswa kelas XI dan 207 siswa kelas X . Sedangkan sampelnya untuk siswa  adalah 10 % dari jumlah siswa kelas XI  yaitu 19 dan siswa kelas X yaitu 21, yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampling acak sederhana (simple random sampling). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis persentase, dimana data diolah dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel frekuensi.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa: 1)Pelaksanaan Penguata( Reinforcement )  dalam Proses Pembelajaran PKn guru menggunakan penguatan verbal dan nonverbal. Dimana penguatan verbal seperti memberikan pujian berupa kata – kata motivasi. Dan penguatan nonverbal itu lebih condong pada gerakan fisik seperti menganggukkan kepala dan menaikkan jempol kearah peserta didik.  2) Faktor Pendukung Pelaksanaan Penguatan ( Reinforcement ) dalam Proses Pembelajaran Pkn yaitu adanya rencana pembelajaran  yang memadai, adanya respon dari peserta didik dan kreativitas seorang guru dalam proses belajar mengajar. 3) Apresiasi peserta didik dalam pemberian penguatan atau reinforcement dalam proses pembelajaran oleh guru Pkn sudah cukup baik dikarenakan dalam pemberian penguatannya tersebut dapat menimbulkan motivasi belajar yang lebih giat terhadap para peserta didik.KATA KUNCI : Analisis, Reinforcement, Pembelajaran PKnABSTRACT : This study aims to determine: 1) Implementation of reinforcement (reinforcement) Civics teacher in the learning process in SMA Negeri 1 Lamuru district. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, which population is around the Sma 1 Lamuru Civic Education teachers, 190 students of class XI and class X 207. While the sample for students is 10% of the number of students of class XI were 19 and students of class X is 21, which is taken by using simple random sampling (simple random sampling). Data was collected by using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. While the analysis used data analysis techniques percentage, where the data is processed and presented in tabular form frekuensi.Berdasarkan results of the study showed that: 1) Implementation of Penguata (Reinforcement) in the Learning Process civics teacher uses verbal and nonverbal reinforcement. Where verbal reinforcement such as praise in the form of the word - the word motivation. And strengthening the nonverbal more inclined to physical movements like nodding his head and raised up towards learners. 2) Factors Supporting Implementation Strengthening (Reinforcement) in the Process of Learning Civic Education that is the lesson plans are adequate, the response from learners and a teacher creativity in the learning process. 3) Appreciation learners in reinforcement or reinforcement in the learning process by the Civic Education teacher is good enough because of the provision of such gains may give rise to the motivation to learn more aggressive towards the learners.KEYWORDS : Analysis, Reinforcement, Civic Education
