Abstract

Since Presidential decree No 5 2005 on the empowerment of the Indonesian shipping industry applies, theIndonesian shipbuilding industry has officially gained support from the Indonesian government to be able tocompete in the national as well as international market. Along with the globalization era and a lot ofshipbuilding orders, the shipyard management has to do some improvement to the shipyard to be morecompetitive. One of efforts that should be done is by improving the management of incoming orders. This isvery important to do because during this time the shipyard management has to collect a lot of informationfrom departments in the shipyard manually to consider accepted shipbuilding orders.In this paper, a new model to manage new shipbuilding orders is developed. The model is implementedwithin a computer-based decision support system that is related to an existing system of production, planningand control in the shipyard. The approach used in the development of this system is ROMC (Representation,Operation, Memory Aids and Control Mechanism).The aim of the developed decision support system is to assist all decision makers in defining problems,developing alternative solution; , and chosing various alternative decisions in the system development thereare three steps to be done : (i) building data base, (ii) building model base, and (iii) building dialogue base

Abstract

In the case of the exploration on renewal energy sources and non fossil energy sources, the writer hasmade a concept of development method in using sea wave for electrical plant as an effort to develop theelectrical plant system by using renewal energy sources. This system uses pontoon to press the sea waterinto tanks, then the generated pressure is used to move turbine. Cylinder pontoon may be floated byproducing maximum heave at the type weight = 0,65. At this type weight surge and pitching movement cannot be reduced until zero, however it may reduces the other movements like rolling and translating, namelyby: DL < 0,615H and DL < 0,175λ, the buoyancy value is 75,4% from its diameter sink in the water or thevolume buoyancy of the floated part that is 15% from the total volume of cylinder. The energy that may beboosted depends on the pontoon´s weight which can be pulled by one way of wave, amplitude, and naturalperiod of the wave. The research gives method of electrical energy and estimation and boosting boosted byone way of wave. The result of energy estimation which can be boosted for wave length is 1,20 m and waveheight is 0,50 meter, the energy that can be boosted is 0,02Kw, for wave length 4,00 meter and wave height2,00 meter, the energy that can be boosted is 23,06Kw for wave length 4,00 meter and wave height 8,00meter the energy that can be boosted is 737,89Kw.

Abstract

Suyadi, in paper diesel electric propulsion as alternative power plant at commercial boats explain that the rapid technology development in the field of electronics and computer has recently increased the popularity of Diesel-Electric Propulsion use as the main activator in the ship. The electric-propulsion offers some beneficial aspects compared to Mechanical-Propulsion. Therefore, it is a task for a Marine-engineer to minimize any harm aspects from Diesel-Electric Propulsion through design and operational as well as possible. Technical and economical aspects will be discussed in this paper as the consideration material for choosing this alternative as the power plant in the ship.Key Word : Diesel electric propulsion

Abstract

Abstract on the harcening process of K 460 steel, austenite temperature and holding time plays very important roles in influencing the result of hardening. In this research, austenite tenrperature variatiorrs are 755oc, 770 oc,785oc. 8l5oc, and 840oc with holding time of 530,60 and 120. Then research result indicates that on 755oc. variation of the holding time produce high increase of hardness. For the others temperature need 30 to reach homogeny phase and more 30 holding time make the hardness relative constant. Meanwhile, the impact strength would be varied caused by intemal stress and residual austenite. For statistical analysis with 99oc accuracy, its found that the effect-of temperature and holding time and its both interactions make the number of hardness and the impact strength grow significantly.   Key words : hardening, temperature austenite, holding time

Abstract

Response of oestrus in Boer goats and development of ovarian follicle to superovulatory treatment were studied. All goats (n= 17) received subcutaneous progesterone ear implant for 11 days to synchronize oestrus cycle. Forty eight hours before implant removal and the following 3 days. 16 AU pFSH containing 40 % pLH was injected 6 times (4, 4; 2, 2; 2, 2) in 12 h intervals. Goats received PGF2a twice synchronized with FSH treatments to induce luteolysis (5 mg PGF2a of each) 24 h after implant removal. Animals were checked for oestrus with an aproned buck 3 times a day. During standing oestrus animals were naturally mated 2 or 3 times. Follicular development and ovulation were monitored 2 times a day using transrectal ultrasonography equipped with a 7.5 MHz linear-array transducer. This evaluation began from the time of implant removal until 48 h after the end of oestrus. Eighty eight per cent of animal showed oestrus with mean of the onset of oestrus 33 h after implant removal and oestrus duration of 30 h. Eighty two percent of does had corpora lutea with number of 11,0 and persistent follicles of 2.1 at laparoscopic examination on day 6 after the end of oestrus. The maximum number of follicles with diameter ≥ 2 mm recorded at the observation of 36 and 48 h after implant removal, whereas those with ≥ 6 mm in diameter were 48 - 60 h. The number of follicles with diameter 2 - 3 mm and 4 - 5 mm during observation period were constant. The ovulation of follicles did not occur spontaneously but they ovulated in several periods. The pFSH+ 40 % pLH preparation yielded a sufficient result for superovulation means in Boer goats. For monitoring the response of ovaries to the superovulatory treatment, ultrasonography was a simple and effective method.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain scientific data influences yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae or the ice cream to the total yeast, pH, acid taste and flavor of alcohol. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Products Technology Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Experimental design used in this study was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment applied the long ripening starter Saccharomyces cerevisiae 1 hour (T1), 2 hours (T2), 3 hours (T3), 4 hours (T4) and 5 hours (T5). The data obtained were processed by analysis of variance, where there is the influence of the test followed by Duncans Ganda Region. The results showed that the addition of starter Saccharomyces cerevisiae at curing 1-5 hours give real effect (P <0.05) increase in total yeast and and give the real effect (P <0.05) lower pH. It also gives effect to the sour taste and flavor of alcohol is increasing. It can be concluded that the addition of starter Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a long ripening 1-5 hours significantly affect the total yeast, pH, acid taste and alcohol.Keywords: total yeast, pH, acid taste and flavor of alcohol, ice creamABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data secara ilmiah pengaruh ragi roti atau Saccharomyces cerevisiae pada es krim terhadap total yeast, pH, cita rasa asam dan cita rasa alkohol. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Ternak Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan yaitu lama pemeraman starter S. cerevisiae 1 jam (T1), 2 jam (T2), 3 jam (T3), 4 jam (T4) dan 5 jam ( T5). Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan analisis sidik ragam, apabila terdapat pengaruh maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Wilayah Ganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan starter S. cerevisiae pada pemeraman 1- 5 jam memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) meningkatan total yeast dan dan memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan pH. Hal tersebut juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap cita rasa asam dan cita rasa alkohol yang semakin meningkat. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan starter S. cerevisiae dengan lama pemeraman 1- 5 jam berpengaruh nyata terhadap total yeast, pH,cita rasa asam dan alkohol.Kata kunci: total yeast, pH, cita rasa asam dan cita rasa alkohol, es krim

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui performan reproduksi ternak kerbau lumpur (Bubalus bubalis) yang ada di 4 kecamatan Kabupaten Malang. Materi penelitian ini adalah 23 ekor kerbau induk yang sudah beranak 2 kali yang menyebar di kecamatan Karang Ploso (KP, n=8 ekor), Pakisaji (PS, n= 2 ekor), Kromengan (KM, n=5 ekor), Sumber Pucung (SP, n=8 ekor). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survey dan sampel diambil secara purposive random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berturut-turut rata-rata umur induk beranak pertama (KP=44,0 ± 2,6; PS=46,5 ± 2,1; KM=46,4 ± 1,1; SP=45,5 ± 2,2) bulan, birahi kembali setelah melahirkan (KP=4,5 ± 0,5; PS=4,5 ± 0,7; KM=4,6 ± 0,5; SP=4,6 ± 0,5) bulan, perkawinan sampai bunting (KP=1,5 ± 0,5; PS=1,5 ± 0,7; KM=1,6 ± 0,5; SP=1,6 ± 0,5) bulan dan jarak beranak (KP=16,6 ± 0,9; PS=16,5 ± 0,7; KM=16,6 ± 0,5; SP=16,5 ± 0,5) bulan. Disimpulkan bahwa performan reproduksi di Kabupaten Malang masih dalam keadaan cukup baik dan juga menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan lokasi (kecamatan) tidak berpengaruh terhadap performan reproduksi kerbau lumpur di Kabupaten Malang.Kata kunci : Kerbau lumpur, beranak pertama, berahi pertama setelah beranak, selang beranakREPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF SWAMP BUFFALO (BUBALUS BUBALIS) IN MALANG REGENCYABSTRACTThis reseach was conducted to determine the reproductive performance of swamp buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) in 4 districts at Malang Regency. This research material was 23 female mature buffaloes who at least has been twice calving. The buffalos spread in 4 districts of Karang Ploso (KP, n=8 ekor), Pakisaji (PS, n= 2 ekor), Kromengan (KM, n=5 ekor), Sumber Pucung (SP, n=8 ekor), respectively. The research was conducted by survey and sample ws determined by purposive random sampling. The results showed that average age of first calving were (KP=44,0 ± 2,6; PS=46,5 ± 2,1; KM=46,4 ± 1,1; SP=45,5 ± 2,2) months, first estrus after a calving (KP=4,5 ± 0,5; PS=4,5 ± 0,7; KM=4,6 ± 0,5; SP=4,6 ± 0,5) months, service per conception (KP=1,5 ± 0,5; PS=1,5 ± 0,7; KM=1,6 ± 0,5; SP=1,6 ± 0,5) months and calving interval (KP=16,6 ± 0,9; PS=16,5 ± 0,7; KM=16,6 ± 0,5; SP=16,5 ± 0,5) months, respectively.The reproductive performance of swamp buffalo was similar in four district areas of study and was in normal condition to support normal population increase.Keywords: swamp buffalo, first calving, first estrus after calving, calving interval

Abstract

The success of estrus detection ensure the correct time of insemination so the high conception rate can be resulted. This research was objected to design an electronic equipment as sensor transducer for measuring the change of circular pressure of vaginal wall of the cows. A sensor used was Load cell type M322. The sensor was connected to microcontroller and a display. The results showed that the applied sensor on a stainless steel transducer steak with a diameter of 2.5 cm and length of 40 cm measured a sensitive change of pressure attach it. This sensitivity was tested to measure the change of pressure of different dept of water i.e. 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 cm. Two equations was resulted from this measurement, while a linear regression was Y= -36.412+197.53X a quadratic equation was Y= 253.3+84.09X+5.09X2. The sensor was then applied in estrus beef cow, not estrus beef cow and estrus dairy cow for 10 days. The same pattern was observed in estrus of both beef and dairy cows: a high values were detected in the non estrus phase while during estrus phase the values were in basal. In contrast, anestrus cow showed high value during 10 days observation, and 5 min application of each. In conclusion, this designed estrus detector was possible to be developed toward application in the farmers after some modifications were created. (JIIPB 2010 Vol 20 No 1: 11-21). Abstract

ABSTRACT: Antibody against progesgerone was produced from serum of local rabbit following low dose of progesterone injection: While a control group (Control; n=5) was injected with Freunds adjuvant solution in aquadest, the treatment groups were either firstly injected with progesterone conjugated to Freunds Adjuvant (P--CFA, 150 p.l : 150 pl) or progesterone conjugated to Freunds Adjuvant and bovine serum albumin (P-CFA-BSA; 135 p;l : 150 tt1 : 15 gl). Twice boostering injections were adminstered using incomplete Freunds Adjuvant on day 14 and 52 after first immunization. Weekly bleeding for serum collection were done from 1 week following first booster immunization to week 10, Using ELISA technique it was shown that the antibody titer to progesterone after first and second booster immunization in the P-CFA groug was higher than Control- and P-CFA-BSA groups. The antibody titer in the P-CFA-BSA remained low similar in the Control group:Key words: antibody; progesterone; rabbit
