Abstract

Abstract Prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) began to be prioritized in school since majority of DHF cases was found in school children, especially in groups of children under 15 years old. Prevention of DHF in school was implemented by teacher role as DHF health educator for student at school. This study was one of school community mobilization models in Semarang for DHF prevention programs. The model compared two methods of health education such as an active learning approach with poster and leaflet media approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementation model to knowledge, attitudes, practice (KAP) and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF in schools. This study was a quasi experiment research with community intervention studies. The research used nonequivalen control group design. The sample of the study was physical education teachers in primary school in Tembalang subdistrict (intervention group) and Pedurungan Tengah Village, Pedurungan subdistrict (comparison group) which was selected purposively. The results showed that knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers which had training in active learning method was higher than the group of teachers who received education leaflets and posters. Active learning method capable significantly for improving knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF prevention (p value<0,05). Teachers self efficacy as health promotor in school on the group with active learning method was higher than the group that had poster and leaflet media. Active learning method was recomended for DHF health education at primary school. Keywords : Teacher, DHF prevention, active learning     Abstrak Pencegahan demam berdarah dengue (DBD) mulai diprioritaskan pada sekolah karena sebagian besar kasus DBD dijumpai pada kelompok responden yang bersekolah, terutama pada kelompok anak berusia di bawah 15 tahun. Pencegahan DBD di sekolah salah satunya dilakukan melalui peran guru untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang DBD kepada siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu model mobilisasi komunitas sekolah di Kota Semarang untuk program pencegahan demam berdarah dengue (DBD). Model dilaksanakan dengan membandingkan 2 metode pendidikan kesehatan yaitu pendekatan pembelajaran aktif dengan pemberian poster dan leaflet. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas pelaksanaan model terhadap pengetahuan, sikap, perilaku (PSP) dan self efficacy guru sekolah dasar tentang DBD di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan jenis studi intervensi masyarakat. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah non equivalen control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah guru pendidikan jasmani di Kecamatan Tembalang (kelompok perlakuan) dan Kelurahan Pedurungan Tengah, Kecamatan Pedurungan (kelompok pembanding) yang dipilih secara purposif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan, praktek dan self efficacy guru pada kelompok dengan pembelajaran aktif lebih tinggi daripada kelompok guru yang menerima edukasi leaflet dan poster. Metode pembelajaran aktif mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, perilaku dan self efficacy guru dalam perilaku pencegahan DBD secara signifikan (p<0,05) daripada metode poster dan leaflet. Kepercayaan diri guru untuk menjadi promotor kesehatan di sekolah lebih besar pada kelompok dengan metode pembelajaran aktif daripada kelompok dengan metode poster dan leaflet. Metode pembelajaran aktif dapat direkomendasikan dalam pendidikan kesehatan tentang DBD di sekolah dasar.   Kata kunci : guru, pencegahan DBD, pembelajaran aktif

Abstract

Between 1986 and 1988, a total of 24,184 mosquitoes comprising of 5 species of Culex (92.85%) 2 species of Aedes (3.73%) and 1 species of Armigeres (3.42%) Were collected using aspirator at cattle shelters and inside of houses in Ungaran subsdistrict, Semarang regency. The density of the mosquito population was no t affected by the rainy on dry season. The role of Culicinalfor the transmission of Japanese B. encephalitis and other arbovirus infectious should be further studied.

Abstract

Untuk mengetahui pengaruh thermal fogging dengan menggunakan ICON 5% EC (OMS 3021), matu insektisida pyrethroid sintetis yang mengandung bahan aktif lambdacyhalothrin terhadap Aedes aegypti, telah dilakukan uji coba di Ungaran, Kabupaten Semarang. Uji "air bioassay" menunjukkan bahwa pada tiga dosis yang dipakai yaitu 0,5 g 1 g dan 2 g (b.a)/ha berhasil membunuh semua Ae. aegypti yang diuji (100%). Beberapa parameter yang dipakai pada uji coba ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ketiga dosis yang dipakai mampu menekan kepadatan populasi Ae. aegypti di dalam rumah selama 1; 3 dan 5 minggu setelah fogging masing-masing untuk dosis 0,5 g; 1 g dan 2 g (b.a)lha. Perubahan perilaku penduduk selama penelitian sedikit banyak berperan juga dalam penurunan populasi tersebut di atas.

Abstract

Study results obtained by the use of permethrin impregnated cloths against the dengue haemorrhagic fever vector Aedes aegypti (L) are reported and discussed. Field trials were carried out in sub-district of Ungaran, Semarang regency. Houses were provided with cloths made of 65 % polyester fiber 35% combed cotton, brown colour impregnated with permethrin 25%EC with a dosage of 0.40 ga.i./m2 installed on the wall close to resting or breeding places of Ae. aegypti in the houses. Entomological data collected during the period 1987 - 88 showed residual permethrin activity for about 1 to 2 months and population density of Ae. aegypti indoor was slightly decreased.

Abstract

Suatu uji coba tingkat pedesaan insektisida alphamethrin (OMS-3004) telah dilakukan untuk me­nanggulangi vektor malaria Anopheles aconitus. Aplikasi dilakukan dengan penyemprotan seluruh din­ding rumah (total coverage) dosis 100 mg/m2 di daerah kecamatan Boja, kabupaten Kendal, Jawa Te­ngah, pada tahun 1985. An. aconitus di daerah tersebut sudah resisten terhadap DDT. Hasil penilaian dengan parameter nyamuk yangmenggigit orang di dalcan dan di luar rumah, hinggap di kandang pada malam hari, hinggap di dalam dan di luar rumah pada pagi hari, menunjukkan bahwa insektisida ini efektif selama 6-8 minggu. Umur residu (residual effect) efektif (kematian An. aconitus 50%) selama 4 minggu pada permukaan kayu. Pengaruh fumigasi sangat rendah, hanya 8,69% An. aconi­tus mati dua minggu setelah penyemprotan

Abstract

During the operational - scale field trials for malaria vector control in Jepara regency, an intensive mosquito collection was carried out in 8 villages of 5 subdistrict, 1983-1986. The mosquito collections consisted of landing on man indoor and outdoor, night resting in cattle shelters, daytime resting indoor and outdoor. Ten Anopheles spp. i.e. Anopheles aconitus, An. annularis, An. barbirostris, An. indefinitus, An. subpictus, An. tesselatus, An. minimus and An. vagus were caught. Among these mosquito, An. aconitus as the main malaria vector was caught predominantly landing on man and resting outdoor, followed by An. vagus. Other species were caught in small numbers.

Abstract

A trial was conducted using ULV spraying of Bendiocarb 20% (Ficam ULV) in Salatiga municipality at a dosage of 45 ml/ha and 75 ml/ha. The trial was conducted in the morning. Two cycles were implemented at an interval of 7 days, using a vehicle-mounted ULV generator. Results revealed no significant changes in mosquito population densitities, in any of the parameters observed.
