Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain (1) the participation of lecturers (FKIP UNS) in winning competitive research, (2) efforts in winning competitive research faculty, (3) the type of research conducted faculty, (4) the scope of the research problems of interest lecturers; ( 5) outcomes of programs targeted faculty (6) the achievement of targeted outcomes research, and (7) the efforts made in improving motivation and institute faculty research competence. The research was conducted at the University FKIP of March. The method used in this study is a survey. Population of this study was all university lecturers FKIP of March. The research data was collected using the documents and interview techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study is essentially descriptive analysis. Description based on categories and each component is presented in the form of averages and percentages. Based on the analysis of data can be presented the following conclusions. First, who successfully won a competitive research professor FKIP UNS have ups and downs (fluctuations).Second, there are a number of efforts made to win the lecturer to competitive research, which among others: (1) the training or workshop that runs from the LPPM UNS, (2) seek information from various sources regarding the sources of funds, the national research agenda, and etc., (3) held discussions with the peer group. Third, the type of research is the most widely performed FKIP UNS is a research professor of the class action or PTK (45%). Fourth, the scope of research problems that most professors do FKIP UNS is a problem related to the implementation of learning and learning innovation. Fifth, the most superficial research conducted outside lecturers FKIP UNS is a form of learning model of learning (39%) of scientific articles (19%), a model of effective school management (12%), and models of innovative learning media (11%). Sixth, the target outcome research in general can be achieved. Seventh, the institution (or LPPM FKIP UNS) has conducted training/workshops, and research grants/research incentives.

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research is to improve students speaking skills. The object of this research is the speaking learning of the seven grade A of SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta. The application of Mind Mapping method are to improve the quality of learning process and result of speaking learning. This research shaped Classroom Action Research. Techniques of data collection is done by observation, interviews, tests and document analysis. The research process is performed in three cycles. Every cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject of this research was the A class of seven grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta, the total students is 32 and teachers as collaborators. Data collection technique are observation, interview, questionnaire, test and document analysis. The validity of the data used triangulation techniques and review the informant. Data analysis used comparative analysis techniques and technical descriptions of critical analysis. The research concludes that there is improvement of the students speaking skills by application of Mind Mapping method. The improvement of the students liveliness and motivated in speaking learning process indicates that there is improvement of learning process quality. The improvement is also shown by the increasing percentage of students speaking skills. Keywords: speaking skills, mind mapping, process quality, result quality Abstrak: Tujuan  penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara  siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran berbicara siswa kelas V-A SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta dengan penerapan metode mind mapping untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil pembelajaran berbicara. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, tes, dan analisis dokumen. Proses penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V-A SMP Negeri 5 Surakarta, total siswa adalah 32 dan guru sebagai kolaborator. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, angket, tes, dan analisis dokumen. Validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi dan review informan. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis komparatif dan deskriptif dengan analisis kritis. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berbicara pada siswa dengan penerapan metode mind mapping. Selain itu, juga terdapat peningkatan kualitas dan proses pembelajaran berbicara siswa yang ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya keaktifan dan motivasi siswa. Peningkatan juga ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan persentase keteampilan berbicara siswa.   Kata kunci:  keterampilan berbicara, mind mapping, kualitas proses, kualitas hasil pembelajaran

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan sampel karangan mahasiswa asing Sebelas Maret University. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik sampel purposif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif yang meliputi empat komponen, yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Simpulan penelitian ini sebagai berikut. Pertama, unsur-unsur linguistik yang mengalami kesalahan bahasa yang sering terjadi dalam teks siswa dibagi menjadi empat kesalahan: kesalahan ejaan, morfologi, semantik, dan sintaksis. Kedua, kesalahan yang paling sering terjadi dalam karangan mahasiswa asing adalah kesalahan ejaan. Ketiga, kesalahan bahasa yang sering terjadi dalam karangan mahasiswa asing yang disebabkan oleh faktor internal: (a) rendahnya motivasi, (b) potensi/bakat bahasa, (c) karakteristik bahasa, dan faktor eksternal: (a) pembelajaran yang tidak sempurna, (b) waktu belajar bahasa kurang. Abstract

The purposes of this study are to explain (1) the form of politeness principles by language teacher languages and female students in the learning process of Indonesian language at SMA Al Abidin Bilingual Boarding School (SMA ABBS), (2) violation to politeness principle of female teachers and female students in learning process of Indonesian learning in SMA ABBS.  Using qualitative approach, this study assigned the 2nd graders of SMA ABBS as the research subjet. Data were collected using recording techniques. Validity in this study was examined using method triangulation. Results of this study show five varieties of politeness principles including maxim of tact, generousity, praise, humanity and consciousness and the violations of the five maxims do occur in learning process of Indonesian language among teachers and female students.

Abstract

This study aims to explain ecological intelligence contents in electronic Indonesian language course books for junior high school (JHS) students. The methods in the studywere literature review and content analysis. The ecological intelligence contents  in thebooks include: (1) identifying ecosystem components; (2) comprehending the functionsand uses of the components; (3) understanding environmental management systems; (4)understanding environmental values which comprise local wisdom and religious andnormative values; (5) showing concern about environmental destruction and pollution; (6)adapting behavior to the environment; (7) solving problems arising from environmentalimpacts, either individually or collectively; (8) managing/preserving natural resources;and (9) exploiting the environment positively. The ecological intelligence contents are stilldominated by the cognitive aspect and have not emphasized the comprehension, valueinternalization, and application aspects.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the skill in writing a short story through paraphrasing technique of popular song using audio-visual media. This study used Classroom Action Research containing of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three stages, namely planning, implementing, and assessing. The data collection instrument was the scoring rubric of writing skill and test items. The data were analyzed using comparative descriptive analysis by comparing the result of the initial condition, the first cycle, and the second cycle. The results revealed that paraphrasing technique could: 1) improve the skill in writing short story in which the improvement percentage of the writing skill is 70% for pre-cycle, 76% for the first cycle, and 80% for the second cycle; 2) improve the percentage of the number of the students passing the minimum score as many as 52% for the pre-cycle, 74% for the first cycle, and 87% for the second cycle.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan (1) unsur intrinsik;(2) aspek kepribadian tokoh utama;(3) nilai pendidikan karakter; dan(4) relevansi kepribadian tokoh utama dan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel Rantau 1 Muara karya Fuadi dengan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra di Sekolah Menengah Atas.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis dokumen dan wawancara. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi data dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan unsur intrinsik yang membangun meliputi: tema pendidikan, alur campuran, latar tempat di Bandung, Jakarta, Maninjau, Amerika, dan Ingrris, penokohan, sudut pandang menggunakan teknik akuan, dan amanat untuk konsisten dalam mengejar cita-cita. Tokoh dan penokohan tokoh utama dalam novel Rantau 1 Muara digambarkan melalui tiga dimensi, yaitu dimensi fisiologis, psikologis, dan sosiologis. Melalui ketiga dimensi tersebut didapatkan penokohan tokoh utama, Alif dan Dinara. Kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel, dianalisis menggunakan teori psikoanalisis Freud yang meliputi tiga struktur kepribadian Id, Ego, dan Superego. NovelRantau 1 Muara juga mengandung nilai pendidikan kerja keras yang ditemukan pada tokoh utama, Alif dan Dinara. Novel Rantau 1 Muara relevan dengan pembelajaran apresiasi sastra di SMA kelas XII. Kata kunci: psikologi sastra, kepribadian, nilai pendidikan, kerja keras, novel Rantau 1 Muara. Abstract:This study aims to describe and explain (1) the intrinsic element;(2) personality aspect of the main character;(3) character education; and(4) the relevance of the personality of the main character and the value of character education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara Fuadi with learning literature appreciation in High School.This research is a descriptive-qualitative research which used psychology literature approach. The data collection techniques used in this study were document analysis techniques and interviews. The data validity techniques used were data triangulation and source triangulation.The results of this research showed that the structural elements that build include: the theme of education, groove mix, setting a place located in Bandung, Jakarta, Maninjau, America, and England, the personality, the standpoint of using the technique of acknowledgment and the message to consistently pursue ideals.Through the three dimensional character is obtained figures of Alif and Dinara. The personality of the main characters in the novel, analyzed using Freud’s psychoanalytic theory which includes three personality structures Id, Ego, and Superego. Novel Rantau 1 Muara also contains the value of hard work education found on the main characters, Alif and Dinara. Novel Rantau 1 Muara is relevant to the learning of literature appreciation in high school class XII. Keywords: literary psychology, personality, value of education, hard work, novel Rantau 1 Muara.
