Abstract

Abstract. The Using of unsuitable learning model will result unoptimal learning. To avoid this, the teacher should be careful enough in selecting and using learning models, especially involve students actively. The result of information obtained from interviews with mathematic teacher, the assessment carried out based on one test only. This research was conducted to improve the grade VIII D student?s learning achievement and their active participation through the implication of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) method of cooperative learning type with authentic assessment on the surface area and volume of the pyramid at MTsN 1 Arjasa in the 2012/2013 academic year. The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR), and the data collecting methods were observation, test, interview, and documentation. From the actions implemented in each cycle, it was proved that the students? score improved from 66,65 in Cycle 1, to 78,94 in Cycle II. Thus, the average percentage of the second cycle was 83,33% and it fulfilled the research criteria, it showed that the implication of STAD can improve the students? learning achievment and their active participation. Abstract

Abstract. The aim of the implementation of teaching and learning activities at the Extraordinary School is to achieve the learning objectives. One of the procedures to improve the quality of education is implementing School Based Curriculum (SBC) fully. A data collecting method used in this research are interview, observation, documentation and questioner. The data obtained from interview, observation, documentation and questioner will be analyzed by qualitative descriptive techniques. Based on the result, the propernes of SBC implementation for mathematics learning in SMPLB-A and SMPLB-B shows 67,22% with ?Good? category and 82% with ?Very Good? category, respectively. In general, the implementation of SBC for mathematics learning at SMPLB has been applied properly but there are some modification done by teachers. Key Words: SBC, Implementation

Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Heads Together is a cooperative learning strategy that holds each student accountable for learning the material. The advantage of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is that it has numbering system. Type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects of was grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Kedungjajang and material the chosen was one variabel linear inequality. The data collection methods used in this research were observation, interview, test, and documentation. In the first cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 73,33% . And the second cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 86,67%. The first cycle to the second cycle was 13,34%. ? Key Words : NHT, Cooperative Learning. Abstract

Abstract. Cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) is combination methods between cooperative learning and individual learning. In this research, we will implement STAD to reduce can minimalize student?s error in the topic of social arithmetic. The subject of the research is grade VII B students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanggul. The data collection methods used in this research are test, interview, observation and documentation. The result shows that the errors are decreasing; theorem error decrease from 37,85% to 20,71%; data error decrease from 52,14% to 32,14%; technique error decrease from 42,85% to 24,28% and other error decrease from 39,28% to 18,57%. The result also shows that the teaching learning activity using STAD gives a good responses from the teacher and students. Key Words : STAD, student?s error, social arithmetics

Abstract

Abstract. Generally, mathematics learning in the school still concentrates on the teachers, so that the students become passive in the learning process. Besides that, the students also never get a problem which is done as a group work. This matter cause the students become passive and only listen about the teacher?s explanation. That matter also makes the students become bored, get difficulties in studying Mathematics and give impact on the student?s bad result. Because of that, a resolution is needed to make a better learning process by applying the elaboration learning method on parallelogram and rhombus chapter to increase the study result of the students of VIIB class in SMP Negeri 1 Jatibantengacademic year 2012/2013. Elaboration method is started from presentation of epitome or a framework of that contains and the last is giving the conclusion which has a function to combine some concepts. Based on the result of the research, the application of elaboration learning method is effective to increase the study result of the students in parallelogram and rhombus chapter. We can see it from the student?s study result, that is from 55% to 87.5%. Key Words:Elaboration model, students? activity, student learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract: The goal of this research aims to know the process and the result of the development of Mathematics Learning Instruments by using IMPROVE method based on Polya?s problem solving model in sub topic of circle at the second semester of the eighth grade students of junior high school in the 2013/2014 Academic Year. Learning instruments development model refers to four D models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. The products refer to the phases of IMPROVE method based on Polya?s problem solving model. The subject of the research is students of grade VIII D SMPN 14 Jember. The data collection methods used in this research are the validation, test, observation, and questionnaire. Based on the validation process try out of learning instruments, it can be concluded that the learning instrumets have satisfied criteria the validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Abstract

Abstract. Strategy of PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) with the technique of Mind Mapping is the learning to create combination and relation between new information that have been know with the use of all in the students? brain and write about what they learn in a piece of paper. This research is expected to know the process and result of the development of mathematics learning instruments based on strategy of PQ4R with the technique of Mind Mapping in sub subject of set for class VII. Learning instruments development model refers to Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel Model (4-D) Model. The result product is lesson plan, student books, work sheets, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and tryout the learning sets can be concluded that the learnig sets had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract : The learning process Numbered Head Together (NHT) was able to grow active students towards learning mathematics. This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes, the implementation Numbered Head Together (NHT). The research activities carried out during two cycles each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. activities of teachers in implementing cooperative learning NHT was 88.35% in the first cycle to 91.65% in the second cycle. Activities students (people) increased from 68% in the first cycle to 82.4% in the second cycle. In addition to individual activities, group activities were also analyzed. The results of the analysis is 51.9% in the first cycle to 60.9% in the second cycle, which means also increased. Student learning outcomes in the first cycle has not reached mastery with a percentage of 40.6%, while in the second cycle has achieved mastery with a percentage of 75%. Abstract

Abstract.The research aims to know the application of accelerated teaching for decrease student’s mistakes for prism and pyramid topic at eight grade of juniorhigh school. Accelerated teaching is natural learning model’s, flexible, suitable to the character and styles learning of students. The subject of research is students of VIII B class SMPN 8 Jember in even semester academic year 2012/ 2013. The kinds of student’s mistakes consist of error using data, error of theorem or definition, technical errors, and another mistakes. This research design is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the method of data collecting using observation, interview, test and documentation. The result of research indicate that the result of learning activity increase of student’s activity of cycle I reach 90% and cycle II reach 98,64%. While the student’s mistakes at cycle I reach 49,5% and cycle II 37%. So, the mode of teaching can increase student’s activity and decrease the student’s mistakes.   Keywords:accelerated teaching, prism and pyramid, student’s activity, student’s mistakes

Abstract

Abstract.The purpose of this research is to increase student’s activities and learning achievement score. This research implemented of Student Teams Achievement Division methods. This research type is a Classroom Actions Research (CAR)of two cycles, there are two classes in each cycles. The topic in the research is a computational circumferenceandarea of ​​trianglesandrectangles.The research methods are documentation, observation, tes and interview. The data analyse in this research are student’s activites and student’s achievement score,teacher’s activities. The research show that the student activities attaine75,43% in the first cycles and 80,10% in second cycles. The teacher activities attaine 75,08% in the first cycles and 92,67% in second cycles, and  the achievement score attaine 80% in the first cycles and 88,57% in second cycles. It can be concluded that the implementation of Student Teams Achievement Division methodsis able to improve student Activities and learning outcome.   Keywords:Problem Centered Learning type, computational circumferenceandarea of ​​trianglesandrectangles, Student’s result study, students activities.
