Abstract

A study of dosage and frequency of casting (earthwarm excrement) for controlling fusarium wilt disease (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp lycopersici) on tomatoes (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) has been done in a Laboratory of Plant and Disease Department and a Field Experiment Station, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh. The purpose of this experiment was to study effects of dosage and frequency of casting to control fusarium wilt on tomato plants. The experiment applied a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with five replications. The factors studied were dosage and frequency of kascing. The dosage consisted of 100 and 200 g/plant, whereas the frequency of kascing consisted of one and two times of application. The results showed that dosage of 200 g/plant with two times of kascing application can control disease fusarium wilt on tomato plant.

Abstract

Education is the process of changing attitudes and code of conduct of a person or group of people within the framework of human mature through teaching and training efforts. Behavior is a very important factor in the success of a teacher as an agent in learning. Teachers personality will determine whether he be a good educator and mentor for the students. The phenomenon shows that globalization, especially those that are negative, if not careful will destroy the young generation with deviant behaviors. Abstrak Pendidikan merupakan proses pengubahan sikap dan tata laku seseorang atau kelompok orang dalam usaha mendewasakan manusia melalui upaya pengajaran dan latihan. Kepribadian merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dalam kesuksesan seorang guru sebagai agen dalam pembelajaran. Kepribadian seorang guru akan menentukan apakah ia menjadi pendidik dan pembina yang baik bagi anak didiknya. Fenomena menunjukan bahwa arus globalisasi, terutama yang bersifat negative, bila tidak hati-hati akan menghancurkan generasi muda dengan perilaku-perilaku yang menyimpang. Abstract

The results of previous studies show that students of Physics Education (S1 and S2), FKIP Syiah Kuala University more than 50% do not understand the programs and roadmap of Pilar ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community as a part of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The inference of those results to the implementation of learning physics and science education system needs to be implemented through a link and match learning model that can improve the ability to think critically and creatively, and students need to be trained to be problem solvers, not the problem makers.Based on these problems, through this research has been applied physics learning by using Problem Solving strategies on 25 students of Master of Physical Education and Science. At the end of the implementation study measured the ability of students to apply problem-solving strategies in accordance with Answer Sections of Problem Solving adopted from previous research. The results showed that the majority of students (78%) are able to implement the stage I (Focus on Problem) with a complete, almost all respondents (91%) was only able to implement the stage II (Describe the Physics) of about 40%, almost all respondents (91% ) can apply for the stage III (Plan The Solution) approximately 80% of all respondents have been able to implement the stage IV (Excute the Plan) perfectly, and all respondents have been able to apply the stage V (Evaluate the Answer) completely. It is expected that all staff of teaching Science materials (Physics), they are recommended strongly to implement Problem Solving as an alternative strategy for preparing students to face global competition in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Abstract

Actually, chemistry learning is very fun, but it takes a high motivation, passion and confident. Based on that, the teachers effort in developing students learning activity is very important, because the students learning activity becomes the determinant of the success of learning that is done. The use of an appropriate learning methods was an alternative to overcome the problem of low absorption of students to the lesson. The arm of this research was to know how the applying of cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) was type through domino card media to affected the learning chemistry achievement of XI-MIA student in MAN 4 Aceh Besar. Instruments used i.e. research instruments and data instruments. Data collection techniques are observation, test results, and questionnaires. Based on the objectives and the results of data analysis in this study, shown that the teacher activity in managing learning for each cycle was in very good category. Student activity at the time of applying the cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type through domino card media on petroleum material was active. Students learning achievement after the implementation of Cycle I, cycle II and final test respectively was about 61.29%, 90.32% and 93.55%. Student response to the application of cooperative learning model type Teams Games Tournament (TGT) through domino card media on petroleum material was positive.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the difficulties of PPG students of Physics education FKIP Unsyiah in implemented teaching experience program in Banda Aceh. This research is a descriptive research type using a qualitative approach. The subject of this research were PPG student of physics education FKIP Unsyiah who implemented the teaching experience program in Banda Aceh in the academic year 2016/2017 which amounted to 15 students. Data collection in this research used questionnaire technique and data analysis technique used percentage test. Based on the data analysis result, it is found that the difficulties of PPG students of physics education FKIP Unsyiah in conducting lesson opening activities were low, the difficulties in mastering the learning material were low, the difficulties in implementing educational learning strategies were low, the difficulties in applying the scientific approach were very low, the dificulities in resourcing utilization and instructional media were low, the difficulties in involving students  in learning were very low, and the difficulties in closing lessons activities were very low. Overall the difficulty level of PPG students of physics education FKIP Unsyiah in implemented the teaching experience program (PPL) were low with percentage of difficulty was 36,8%, which showed that PPG students of physics education FKIP Unsyiah have no difficulties in implementing teaching experience program (PPL) in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The problem of this study does the subject of physics teaching plan influence micro-teaching for physics student academic year 2016/2017 faculty of education and teaching unsyiah ? the objective of this study is to recognizing, the influence of the subject physics teaching plan toward micro-teaching conducted by physics students FKIP Unsyiah academic year 2016/2017. The population of this study is the students at study program of physics FKIP Unsyiah year 2016-2017 who are conducting micro-teaching practice and have passed the subject physics teaching practice. The technique of date collection used observation and documentation study while the technique of date analysis formula from this study the regearcher found thitung > ttable (2.56 > 1.7). This result means that there is an influence of the subject physics teaching plan toward micro-teaching practice done by the students of study program of physics FKIP Unsyiah year 2017. It is recommended that the students in micro-teaching should obtain a deeper understanding on the materials in the subject physics teaching plan.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas guru dan siswa, kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, serta tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan metode pembelajaran inkuiri dengan media laboratorium virtual (Phet). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI-MIPA4 SMAN 12 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 29 orang siswa. Pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan statistik deskriptif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar tes tertulis, lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar pengamatan kemampuan guru, dan lembar respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji persentase. Hasil analisis data, menunjukkan bahwa penerapan  metode pembelajaran inkuiri dengan media media laboratorium virtual (Phet) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas guru dan siswa juga sudah memperlihatkan keterlaksanaan menggunakan metode pembelajaran  inkuiri dengan media media laboratorium virtual (Phet), keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran menunjukkan peningkatan dari siklus I hingga siklus III, dan respon siswa setelah diterapkan  metode pembelajaran inkuiri dengan media laboratorium virtual (Phet) selama tiga siklus adalah positif. Disarankan untuk menerapkan metode ini pada materi-materi lain yang sesuai.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Inkuiry, Media Laboratorium virtual Phet, Hasil Belajar           AbstractThis study aims to determine the increase in student learning, teacher and student activity, teachers ability to manage learning, as well as the students response to the application of methods of inquiry learning with virtual laboratory media (Phet). The subjects were students of class XI-MIPA4 SMAN 12 Banda Aceh totaling 29 students. The approach applied in this research is descriptive statistical approach. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (PTK). Data collection instrument used was a written test sheet, sheet teacher and student activity observation, observation sheets ability of teachers, and student response sheet to learning. The research data were analyzed using percentage test. The results of data analysis showed that the application of the method of inquiry learning with media media virtual laboratory (Phet) can improve student learning outcomes, the activities of teachers and students also showed keterlaksanaan using inquiry learning with media media virtual laboratory (Phet), teachers skills in managing learning showed an increase from the first cycle to the third cycle, and the students response after the applied method of inquiry learning with virtual laboratory media (Phet) for three cycles is positive. It is advisable to apply this method to other materials as appropriate.Keywords: Inquiry learning, virtual Phet Media Laboratory, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The Use of Antagonistic Bacterial as Biocontrol Agents to Wilt Disease (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense) on Banana Susanna Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh ABSTRACT             Fusarium wilt or panama disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense is on of the important disease on banana. Recently there is no such effective methode for controlling the disease. The use of fungicide to control the disease can make new races of the fungal pathogen is very virulent.  The use of biocontrol agent such as Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis is alternative methode to control fusarium wilt.  The aim of this experiment was to find out the most effective antagonist bacterial to control fusarium wilt on banana.  The study was carried out in Mycology Laboratory of IPB and green house and Phytopathology Laboratory of Balitbio, Bogor from January to October 2001.  Six treatments in this experiment were arranged in randomized complete design with 3 replications.  The result showed that Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis were reducing Panama disease fusarium wilt on banana. Both antagonistic bacterials were effective to control fusarium wilt.  

PENGARUH TRICHODERMA TERHADAP PERKECAMBAHAN DAN PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KAKAO, TOMAT, DAN KEDELAI

Abstract

Trichoderma is a free-living fungus, commonly can be found in soil and root ecosystem.  Extensively, it is capable of producing antibiotics, parasite to other fungus, and microorganism that cause diseases on plants.  The objectives of the experiment were to study effects of Trichoderma on germination and growth of cacao, tomato, and soybean. The result showed that provision of Trichoderma (T. harzianum and T. virens) conidia suspension using seed submersion technique did not affect seed germination of cacao, tomato, and soybean, but significantly affected cacao root extension. Provision of Trichoderma through seed submersion on sand box germination gave a positive response to tomato plant, tolerance to cacao plant, and a negative response to soybean plant.  The causing factors of difference responses varied including concentration, application techniques, and kinds of seed.

Abstract

The objectives of the study was to obtain an effective concentration of B. bassiana to control pests of N. Viridula.  Experiment was performed at Laboratory of Pest, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University Darussalam, Banda Aceh. The experiment used a  faktorial completely randomized design (CRD).  Factors evaluated were (1) concentration of B. bassiana consisting of three levels: 2 gL-1 distilled water, 4 gL-1 distilled water, and 6 gL-1 distilled water, and (2) stadia of N. viridula consisting of 2 levels: third instar nymphs and imago. Variable observed were incubation period, mortality of N. viridula, time of death, and percentage of feeding inhibition. The results showed that concentration of B. bassiana and stadia of N. viridula had no effect on incubation period of fungus B. bassiana. Concentration of B. bassiana affected mortality and time of death of nymph and imago N. viridula. Concentration of fungus B. bassiana affected percentage of feeding inhibition. In general, fungus B. bassiana had a high potential on controlling insect N. viridula.
